The couple of time we had the food, it was pretty good. Although the gyro platters were a little light on gyro meat, we liked the fact that they are not afraid to heap on the spices. However, we live about 0.8 miles, about 10 blocks away from this place and every time I call for delivery, I’ve had the same conversation. The dude, calls me brother and tells me I should be calling another gyro café location since I live too far. I explain that I am really close to them and that they have delivered here on about a dozen occasions, and they still fight with me. They ask me for the cross streets 3 or 4 more times, then speak to the manager before agreeing to deliver. Same 5 minute routine every freaking time. Tonight, I decided it wasn’t worth it and just hung up. I got a decent gyro elsewhere.

4 of us swung by after our workout and I figured I’d get a mixed platter (lamb and chicken). The lamb was so burnt and charred it was gross to eat. The chicken and salad were great but a bad first experience is a last experience. Please don’t serve leftover scrap. If you don’t have fresh meat left please let the patron know, I would’ve ordered somethinf else.

Its true, its that good!!! Between nowhere and nothing Coney Island. First visit here today. Chicken gyro; incredibbly moist and juicy chicken, wildly fresh salad toppings on offer, sweetly garlicy cucumber spears and petit gerkins, topped with a surprisingly light, fresh and creamy white sauce!!! Way Tasty…
Counter people have a positive atitude and Im seriously sitting in my car, typing this, havening just finished this tasty samich and already thinking of going back in for another, Its that Good.

Ok so I’ve visited the UAE for work and fell in love with their food. After changing jobs one of the things I miss the most was the food, then I found Gyro Café. … and it’s now my new go too craving stopper. Their food taste like a middle eastern grandmother made it.lol. The only negative is the Mexican Guy that sometimes works their, you could be standing right in front of him and he’ll get your order wrong. So if you go their and mostly if you call check your order before you leave. The middle eastern Guy is the best he has great customer service, he’s fast and always gets your order right. Can’t wait to eat there again

Bomb food, friendly and fast dudes working there. Good veggie platters, fried fish, gyro platters, falafel sandwiches, spinach pies. Good for deliveries in the hood (very fast, and open late), and good if you need a quiet place to eat by yourself, maybe watch some big-​screen cable. :) The ambience isn’t for everyone, but you can’t find it like this just anywhere. I’m really glad to have this place in my neighborhood.

Yummy! Hubby and I wanted a light supper so we shared a fish and rice plate. It was seasoned with just the right amount of kick. The staff was wonderfully polite and helpful. We would visit again.

Wanted to update this review – I keep going back for the lamb curry, which is the best that I’ve had in my life. There’s something about it that stands out from everything else, no matter what region you prefer. The sauce is made with the absolute freshest ingredients (tomato, chopped cilantro, cinnamon stick, cardamon) and has a strong, rich punch of flavor that stays in your memory for days. While there’s no cream, it has the thickness that I always want in a sauce like that. There. I said it. Now go. It’s truly better than every other place on the other side of Coney Island Avenue, that is, if you’re craving this particular dish.

Great little spot that’s very inexpensive. I’m addicted to their lamb. Yum! Everything here is super fresh and they give huge portions. Super nice employees as well.

Had a craving for some middle eastern comfort food and through Unilocal I found this amazing hole in the wall. I ordered the chicken kabob platter with rice which included a make your own salad bar. The chicken was cooked to perfection over a coal fire and had a wonderful smoky taste. The rice was perfect and wasn’t too buttery. The salad tasted very fresh and the hummus that came on the side was out of this world. The place doesn’t look like much on the inside but the guy that worked the counter provided all the ambience I needed. Will be back!

This place has true delicious Middle Eastern food. I ordered the chicken kabob platter with rice and a side of hummus. the chicken tastes like it was cooked over coal for a rich middle eastern taste. The only complaint I have is the ambiance or lack of.

This restaurant is so clean and the food is spectacularly delicious. They give you huge portion sizes for only 7 bucks. ! The best things to order are the shish kebabs, naan&kebab, chicken over salad, chicken or lamb over rice, falafels with hummus and the baklava is to die for !! If you want good clean delicious food with friendly and fast service this is the place to go! Also if your at the hookah lounge across from the street it a good idea to eat here right after since it’s so convenient and the food is soooooo delicious. Will definitely be coming back !!

Edit: After not coming here for a while I stopped by for some pickup one day after work. There food was as good as I remembered when first going there. I try not to order delivery because the delivery driver is pretty demanding even thought I tip generously (25%+). So your best bet is eating there or getting takeout.
I used to love this place. Things have changed the past couple months. The chicken platter is 7 dollars now. Still pretty reasonable. No longer a bargain meal. The ingredients definitely changed. And the delivery guy is still a jerk. My meal came out to 10 bucks the other day. Gave him a 20 and the guy tried to give me back only 5 dollars. He counted out the 10 dollars of change, looked at me, and took 5 of the dollars. Not a very professional thing to do. No longer ordering from this place. I might stop by and pick something up if desperate.
