Bad pizza(can you call pizza a cracker?) Awful service(we called in to make sure they had dessert as we wanted to celebrate my sister in law 21 bday and guess what there was no dessert, no ice cream no nothing. It was only 9.45 at night!) Poor management(after we sadly realized they didn’t keep their word with the dessert I asked to speak to a manager and there was no manager… WHAT? Really?) Server(the lady kept saying no to any of my requests. Finally she said listen I don’t know what to tell you… How rude?) Nice view Poor selection of drinks Get it together Fornino, nothing is granted especially with your poor service.

My favorite of the season. Food is great(thin italian pizza crust) and the view is amazing. The perfect spot for summer night but shhh, don’t tell anybody.

Awesome pizza with a view! Great vegetarian options too! Definitely a crowd pleaser. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the pizzas :) Be sure to check the hours before coming, though. I tried coming here once and it was closed. It also took my friend three tries before finally eating here because of their hours!

Fornino actually has good pizza and is a decent rooftop. Although the view of the water is obstructed by trees, and the building is not exactly a skyscraper, I imagined it must be pretty at night. I came here with my toddler for a mommy break hoping they would have«mommy juice» and it seemed the bar didn’t open till noon, as usual on Sunday. I felt bad ordering alcohol being solo with a toddler anyway, so we ended up ordering a margarita pizza with extra cheese. Tasty sauce, thin crust and the right amount of cheese. Had I not been with Mr. Plain, nothing too spicy or exotic for his sensitive palate, I would’ve tried some toppings, as the special of the day smelled like oniony, cheesy and meaty pizza heaven. And talk about comfy for parents and kids that need a break before or after BBPark? I imagined our pizza hideaway cramped with crowds of sweaty, thirsty, fun-lovers looking to beat the heat, as the day progressed into night. But when we were there, it was perfectly empty. So the service was pleasant, but our pizza took forever. So long that my toddler kept asking why, where and how. I think he may have learned the meaning of those words while sitting there.

One star is for the location. Came here since this was the spot chosen for a team lunch but wasn’t really in the mood for pizza so I ordered the brisket sandwich.(:groan: Really? brisket? In a pizza place? Yes, sorry y’all I just was in the mood for… not pizza) Anyway my food arrives and the«brisket» tastes and looks like a slab of chewy and dry roast beef. It was pretty gross actually, so I went up to the counter to inform the cashier that if getting a replacement was not an option, I’d simply like to order something else. No biggie. I wasn’t annoyed or anything; I just couldn’t stomach that«brisket». He seemed to take great offense to my request and muttered«Well that’s why I gave you a menu»(which, by the way, he did not. My teammate got up and got menus for us and we had to clean our own table). I told him the menu doesn’t indicate what quality the food will be nor how it looks and I’d prefer to get something else. He didn’t want to let it go so he continued: «this is an Italian restaurant… this is Italian brisket.» This was a team lunch so not to drag out this unnecessary exchange, I took the menu and went back to my seat to decide what other item i was going to order but was so put off by the unnecessary rudeness of the cashier I didn’t order anything just to avoid having to interact with the staff. Maybe the table service is better? I’m willing to give it another try but at least I know which cashier to avoid.

The location is the best part about this place. The pizza ranges from solid to very good, the crowd is kind of bad, and the drinks are just abysmal. First, location. Overlooking Brooklyn Bridge Park, you get a lovely view of the water, the park, the shirtless volleyball players, and if you go on a Sunday, the masses of hipsters fighting out the lines at Smorgasburg. Good times. Second, pizza. We tried two pizzas, which was definitely way too much food for us. The special that day was a pizza with capicola, asparagus, mozzarella, gorgonzola, and caramelized onions. It was decent, but surprisingly, we ended up liking our second pizza(tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, olive, mushrooms and eggplant) much, much more. Sometimes experimental toppings don’t always pay off. Third, ugh to annoying parents with babies. I mean, I get it. It’s Brooklyn and we all know that the level of breeder-worshiping runs deep here. But really, get it together, moms and dads. Just because YOU’VE learned to block out your mini-me’s screams doesn’t mean the rest of us have that luxury. Fourth, drinks suck. We tried several(mostly with prosecco) and they were consistently bad. Like, forget-chilling-on-the-rooftop-with-a-cocktail-and-just-drink-water-out-of-a-tiny-cup bad. And bonus fifth. There’s always a long line for the bathroom, so be prepared to wait.

Went here the other night for my friends birthday with a group of around 12 or so. This place is very conducive to a group setting. We ended up getting three tables which was good enough for all of us to be seated comfortably. The thing that sets this place apart from other is the setting. It has a rooftop that looks out onto the pier of Brooklyn bridge park. It was awesome. We got some pitchers of Brooklyn summer ale and enjoyed some drinks while looking at the Manhattan skyline. What can be better than that? The food here is pretty decent. They have pizza and sandwiches with a few appetizers to throw in as well. The pizza was brick oven thin crust and was pretty good. The rice balls were also a crowd pleaser. Next time I go back and I will definitely go back I will look to try more of the options.

Since this place opens at 5PM, wouldn’t recommend coming here before that unless you decide to do a little sight seeing. My friends and I had to wait about 10 – 15 minutes before we were able to go up. Once we got up, it was a typical rooftop bar place. High tables, benches, nice overhead lights for the evening. Since we were there early on at 5PM, not many people came here making it easy for us to order. Theres once area to order drinks and the pizza in the other area. Pizza was a standard personal pie so about 10 – 12′ depending on what you’ve ordered, but they were very well made. It’s a little out of the way to get to(coming from Queens and Weschester) but if you’re a local or in the area– definitely worth checking out.

Got here at about 4PM with two friends in hopes of having some pizza before we left the brooklyn piers. It turns out that the rooftop doesn’t open till 5PM. We waited, walked up and it was pretty nice. Some high top tables by the bar and bench seating for the larger groups. You have to walk up to the bar for your drinks and there is a separate counter to order your pizzas. The pizzas were good and the pours were pretty generous. Spent about 45 bucks for 2 pizzas and about 30 for three drinks(both prices include a 20 percent tip). Crossed off the list, I would recommend it to others but I’m not too sure if I would drive an hour to get some again.

Fornino is a great place to grab a pizza and beer after a long day, especially on the rooftop. Located in Brooklyn Bridge Park by Pier 5, they serve delicious pizza with an excellent view of the Brooklyn bridge and the downtown Manhattan skyline. The rooftop can fill up quickly on a nice day, but it’s the perfect opportunity to share a table with some strangers and make new friends. They also make the pizzas right there, outdoors, on the rooftop in their oven, so you know you’re getting a freshly made pizza. The Funghi Misti pizza is fantastic, perfect for any mushroom lover. The texture and taste of the pizza is great and not overloaded with sauce. After dinner, the Nutellino is perfect for dessert and Nutella lovers alike. It is a dessert calzone filled with Nutella. Genius! If you’re near Brooklyn Bridge Park and feel the need for a pizza or a beer, stop by Fornino and enjoy the lovely view!

Love the concept of an open-air pizza/cocktail bar overlooking Brooklyn Bridge Park. I just wish the execution were better. If you hate annoying parents and their ugly kids, you might want to skip Fornino on a weekend. But if you can stomach it, or show up after 3 or 4, then it’ll be a lot more peaceful. There’s a ton of seating(picnic benches that clearly state they were made in Germany… okay), but you have to order drinks and pizza separately, which is annoying. They have promising cocktails(a lot with prosecco), but they all kinda sucked. Tried a gin one and one where you could choose your own liquor. Would not recommend either. Onto the food. You place your order at the counter and then they give you a number to bring to your table. Then someone brings you your pie. If it’s not too busy, it takes 10 minutes. Their special pizza of the day was with asparagus, mozzarella, gorgonzola, capicollo and caramelized onions. Sounded great at $ 15, but the toppings were not even close to evenly distributed, and the asparagus added absolutely nothing to the pie. They tasted like they were added as an afterthought. A little balsamic or honey would’ve gone a long way to making it way better. Our second pie was the Quatro Stagione, which had tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, kalamata olive, shitake mushrooms and eggplant(at $ 14). That was a far superior pie. The toppings worked well together, and I especially liked the olives. Their bathroom situation downstairs kinda sucks. It’s open to everyone in the park, so expect long lines. But really, you can’t beat the views, and at least one of the pizzas is great. Also, if you sit at the far end of the roof, you can voyeuristically watch some volleyball players. So there’s that.

The pizza is amazing(especially the Funghi Misti), and the location on Pier 6 offers awesome water views of the NY Harbor from the roof deck. It is a bit odd that you order food from one stand and drinks from another, but it worked out OK on a Friday afternoon when things weren’t too crowded or crazy. There are only a handful of umbrellas so if you are looking for shade, either make a reservation(usually only for groups), arrive very early, or opt to sit downstairs in the main restaurant.

Pretty good pizza in beautiful brooklyn bridge park. They have indoor, outdoor and rooftop seating. Pizza is in the mid teens price range. They have beer. We tried the mushroom pizza and the calabrese. Both were good, could be crispier and thinner crust though.

Let me make this easy for you. Come here on a warm evening, a little before sunset. Order the Funghi Misti to go. It will be ready in 10 minutes. You can buy sodas or other drinks at the bar upstairs or at the counter downstairs while you wait. Walk up the waterfront and find a bench facing the water. The first set of benches is right there and the next set is about 5 minutes further. Sit back and savor this amazing pizza as the sun sets, with sounds of lapping water and happy people for your soundtrack. (Sure their rooftop dining area is a great place to hang with friends, but every other reviewer already told you that.) When you realize how good it all was, come back here and let me know.

The last thing I would expect from a pizza place in a park is wonderful craftsmanship and a nice char crust. The fact that the view is Chronicles of ReDICULOUS makes this a must stop if you are 1. In Brooklyn Bridge Park. 2. Hungry. They also have beers for a meh price and size, so I shaved a star.

Now that it’s winter, I feel safe to write about this place. I didn’t want to tell anyone about it before, because it has: 1) Some of the best pizza in Brooklyn. 2) THE dopiest view of the skyline. 3) Rooftop? Boozin’? Yes to both! As someone who’s had every pizza here, I can tell you they’re all good(though the Al Roker is one of my favs). Salads are also on point, and I believe there’s Blue Marble ice cream if you’re really hungry. Three pizzas is enough for 4 people, but for those with a big appetite just order one of each! One day I hope the area to be free of strollers, as many parents & tykes have claimed this spot as their hangout for summer’s duration. But if you get there at a time when moms and dads haven’t taken over, enjoy it. With a Peroni(or sangria!).

I came here since my friend wanted to do brunch here for her bday. We came upstairs where they had wooded picnic tables, two counters one for drinks and the other to order food. They don’t have a huge selection of drinks but the normal beer, wine, sangria and vodka. Now lets get to the food. I saw that they had a brunch pizza with eggs. At first I found this a little gross but hey don’t knock it until you try it so I order the Spinach, Tomato, fontina, prosciutto and baked eggs pizza. The pizza was delicious and I cant find a better term than to say it tasted very brunchy. I also go to try the Lombardi and it was very tasty.

When you hear about pizza on a rooftop, you won’t just think of Breaking Bad anymore. Instead, you will want to come to this beautiful spot at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park to enjoy some of the tasty pies while taking in the view of the city from the nice roof deck. Walk up to the counter to place your order and get any drinks you want, and then scope out a prime table by the outskirts of the roof to maximize enjoyment of the view. They will come bring you your food a few minutes later. We started with the Caesar Salad($ 9), which was very standard, but got the job done fine. We then got two of the very small pies — the special of the night, the Sausage and Peppers($ 15), and the Al Roker($ 14). They were very similar, pretty much just sausage on one and pepperoni on the other with the same remaining ingredients. They were ok, by just nothing particularly memorable. The crust was very soft, with no char nor chewiness that usually marks a good version of this style of pizza. It’s definitely good, but I don’t know if I would seek this pizza out if it didn’t come along with the nice outdoor atmosphere here. The menu is pretty bare bones(pizzas and salads). They also have ice cream and sundaes available, but why would you bother when you can see the Ample Hills Creamery stand from here? It is a bit of a pain to get here. Be careful if you are taking the ferry to Dumbo thinking it’s anywhere near here — it’s a good 15 – 20 minute walk from the foot of the bridge, as this is way down at the other end of the pier. The walk is typically nice, but it was swelteringly hot out and unpleasant when we journeyed here. Come for the view, stay for the pizza.

Like they say it’s all about location! And this place has one of the best in Brooklyn, located right in Brooklyn bridge park, nothing obstructing there beautiful view of lower manhattan, and to top it off a nice size rooftop area! Perfect place to take some incredible pictures when the sun is setting. I came here with a group of friends, actually a triple date, which is the only way I would actually come here considering it’s great for the views, drinks, and pictures. The sangria was ok… not something I would rave about… Pizza was good, not the best I’ve had, but not your average slice either. It’s about an average of eleven dollars for a pie, and one person can eat a whole pie, well at least I did. This isn’t a place I would crave, more like a place to meet up with some friends on a nice summer night, enjoy some pizza, while looking at our beautiful city.

This is superb pizza that you get to eat on a rooftop in one of the most beautiful parks in the world, with views of the Manhattan skyline. That alone should be enough to get you here, but if you need recommendations, I’m here to indulge your every desire.* I must say that normally, I’m an advocate for simplicity on a pie. And Fornino certainly makes an excellent classic Margherita, and meat-eaters can’t go wrong with the Calabrese(essentially a Margherita with sopressata instead of basil). However, they are also the rare joint where the crust doesn’t lose anything on their loaded-up specialty pies, and their combinations are uniformly excellent. If you’re so inclined, try the Al Roker, which incorporates fontina, caramelized onions, peppers, sopressata and more. White-pie enthusiasts will love the spinach pie topped with ricotta, pine nuts, and a bit of truffle oil as well. Fornino’s drink prices are a bit steep, given the tiny plastic cups you are forced to drink from(that blow over quite easily in the wind)…but if you want to eat superb pizza on a rooftop in one of the most beautiful parks in the world, this is the price you pay. _____________ *Except you, Ruggy.
