Duane Reade

I went in a little over a month ago to refill a prescription and was told I couldn’t do so until 3 weeks later, so I left. On my way out, in front of the employees, I put my old prescription box back into my pocket. As soon as I got to the door, two employees stepped in front of me and demanded I take the «toothpaste or whatever you stole out of your pocket.» I explained what it was (as I was taking it out for them) and got more attitude and was told again to take what I «stole» out of my pocket, and when I showed it to them, I got stared down. The female security simply said, «Oh shit,» and walked off laughing without an apology. The guy continued to give me a dirty look and just stepped aside. Not only did these geniuses wrongly accuse me of stealing without apologizing, but they likely added me to some «watch list/​wall of shame» because this happened again recently:
I came back today and, while looking for an item, the woman at the register announced, «Security, walk the floor.» Immediately after, my friend pointed out to me that there were employees watching us. I looked and counted three, all suddenly pretending to be busying themselves in our aisle when just a few seconds ago, I noticed no one. I don’t know what their problem is, but the people running this store seem to think everyone’s out to steal their toothpaste.

I put 1 star becuase the pharmacy has the pharmacists Dmitry Goldfeld. I wanted to ged my medicine, but he told me that he is NOT GOING TO Help me, because it’s too late… when I enter the pharmacy it was 7:55, they closed at 8:30 how it could be late??? That is Not first time when he does that. Also, he is extremely rude and unprofessional. In the end of story… I decided to order my medicine at CVS.

The pharmacy staff here is incredibly rude and unhelpful. I’ve had numerous bad experiences here… from not being able to get my questions answered, to being patronized by rude staff. I’ll definitely be taking my business to another pharmacy.

This store almost always have the items on sale so rain checks are usually not needed, which is more than I can say for the one on Avenue U (for more info on that check that review). Shelves tend to be jam-​packed with sale items so they add the additional in the side shelves and in the middle of the aisles, which is great since you can spot it right away.
Location is good, right in front of the subway and bus stop, problem is no parking lot.
