This is some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. I took some whole beans home to make in my French press, and it was so rich and chocolate like, that I felt like Unilocaling. Yeah, I guess this location closed… but they opened up in South Slope: 541A3rd Avenue(bet. 13th and 14th) NY11215 Very clean, spacious, casual, and wifi of course.

Pretty bad. It was the only place opened on the holiday weekend at 9am on Sunday. It looked very promising and the fair trade aspect of their business model was certainly appealing, but it was horrible. It seemed pricey for NY standards and it took over 15 minutes for 2 drinks. We were the only customers at the time. I through my cappuccino away as soon as we got outside, and I had not had any coffee yet! I would give a half star if I could. One caveat, I’m from out of town and I think the place had not been open long so it might have improved.

There are some comments here from the first couple of weeks this place was open that suggest the coffee here is less than stellar. Now, perhaps with time has come wisdom and improved coffee quality(or perhaps some people just don’t know a good cup of coffee) — either way, I want to make sure this place gets a fair shake. The décor is cute, and it seems like a nice quiet place to get some work done. I usually stop by on the weekends to grab my cup and go, but that’s just my style. Anyway, the coffee is great — a little expensive, but I’m willing to pay 2 dollars for a good cup of coffee(rather than the burnt bean taste of starbucks which charges the same price).

This is a cute café. Great décor. Relaxing. Spacious. The Americano that I tried was so good on my first visit, I decided to come back the next day for the house drip. That was alright; a little too strong for my taste. I would come back for the Americano though next time.

This place is ridiculous. I was so excited previous to its opening, and really really wanted to like it, but I was just so disappointed. The outside looks amazing, but the inside is grungy instead of quaint. Also, I went in at 10am on a Sunday morning and… wait for it… they didn’t have any coffee. None. Excuse me? Rather than wait the 10 minutes the mumbling barista told me it would be, I walked to a coffee shop that has its act together.

Very cool café that feels like you are sitting in some one’s apartment(in a good way:) Did not try the coffee as they had some unique herbal teas(it was late in the day, and this really hit the spot as it was kind of cold as well). The mix had vanilla, pomegranate and a couple of other things in there to round out the nice warm feeling. The staff was accommodating and the place was pretty full(though it is a small space) In visiting friends who live around the corner for years, this is a great addition to an area starved for cafes/public lounging spots.

I just got back from the UK where the Flat Whites rock. Thanks to «Crop to Cup» I feel like I’m still in London(minus the rain) Cheers and welcome to the neighborhood

my cappuccino was good, but the best part was the silly muffin!(yes, that’s the actual name). it had cornmeal on top and a poached egg on the bottom. unique, yummy and filling. other thoughts: good atmosphere, quirky without trying too hard. friendly staff. and the tea selection looked impressive and fancy. definitely worth a return trip!

Really cute surroundings… I mean really cute-everything about this place calls you to lounge around on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and sip some joe. Too bad the coffee is not very good. The brewed coffee was very weak — like old school cheapo diner coffee really — this was an unpleasant surprise. Also, the cappuccino was, again, very weak — too much liquid milk mixed in with the esspresso making this essentially a latte(but we didn’t order a latte so we were dissapointed here too). We also had an undercooked cinnamon-rasin pastry — unmemorable. Also, no decaf espresso — why not? Perhaps they’re still working the kinks out(it just opened within the last few days) so I will probably try again. But they’ve really gotta crank up the quality of the drinks and food fast. Good luck.

The betterment of Atlantic Avenue continues with Crop to Cup. That storefront had sat empty since I moved to the neighborhood at least 3 years ago, so I’m glad someone took it up. Now — for the coffee. It was great! I got a latte — it had nutty and caramel undertones. Tasty, medium bodied(much lighter than a stumptown for ex). It took a while to come, but the service was nice, so at least there’s that. The café itself is cute –lots of solo drinkers, chilling on their laptops. Hopefully it won’t become a haven for the McLaren Mafia in days to come. As for food, they have mini-cupcakes, and other little bread pastries, I think I also saw a granola bowl being offered.

Pretty cool café /antique place. Stopped in today for a morning espresso and yeah it was great — although I think I prefer Pedlar and 9th Street Espresso — no biggie. This was still pretty good — I’ll have to come back to get a better idea. Took the espresso and sat outside on a little stone thing that they have. Perfect for a spring day. GF had an iced latte, which she liked a lot. I must say it was good too. The place is cool to walk around in. It’s spacious and there are various odds and ends. They had some cool teas too — one with like little rose buds. I guess my one complaint about the place was that it had a pretty strong musty smell — not sure if this was because the storefront had been vacant for so long… or some of the antiques or what. Not a huge deal. I didnt bring my laptop so I dunno if there was wi-fi, but people were there using their laptops. Overall, this is another welcome addition to BK Heights. The more cute neighborhood cafes, the better. So it’s pretty much this and Iris Café. And especially for this stretch of Atlantic, which up until recently had been kinda desolate. Hopefully Crop to Cup will continue in the revival of this stretch of BK Heights.
