I love the food here, the salads especially. I the space is small but cute and still very comfortable. I find myself just stopping by and picking something up if I’m in the area. I would like to see bigger portions but aside from that this place is great.

I took my parents there just for a low fuss meal in the neighborhood, and was highly disappointed. It was the server’s first day(which we didn’t hold against her), but she had little to no support, and was in way over her head. We were polite and patient, even after being told wrong information, them being out of every other item we ordered off the menu(4 pm on a Sunday), items we ordered never being served(taken by the new server and a trained one), having to repeatedly ask for serving plates, and having to wait over 10 minutes after paying to get a receipt to sign. Overall, just a frustrating and disappointing experience. I’m far from a customer from hell, and recognize that it’s a tough job, but horrible service is horrible service no matter how you look at it.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to take a try at it. I must admit it’s a very warm n cozy vibe very welcoming the Bartender at the time was Anna was very welcoming and made amazing drinks for us. Our server I believe his name was Stefon also was super friendly made us feel right at home. The food came very quickly and was damn good, great service, I really suggest the Drunken Mussels if your into seafood and the 8oz burger was out of this world full of spice and WOW!!! A must on our return list.

Drinks are great! Food… not so much. I would not waste any money on food at this bar. The quality of the food is less than sub par. However, the drinks are pretty decent. Whenever I come here I just stick to the drink menu. So eat somewhere else and come for drinks here afterwards. The ambiance is awesome. The bar has a nice chill vibe. The bartenders are pretty great, and service is always exceptional. The only downside to Beso is the food. But overall, not a bad bar to stop by, if you’re in the area.

Brunch: it was A Sunday around 12, no wait for a table maybe 5⁄6 seated tables, two servers so we went for it. We opted to sit in the patio area which was nice. Our server took a bit long to get to is initially but he was nice, chatted us up a little. Our food came out quickly(which we expected) and it was good. We ordered chicken and red velvet waffle and shrimp and grits. I loved the shrimp and grits perfectly made. I think there were 6 large shrimp, perfectly seasoned with a hint of spice and sautéed peppers and onions. The consistency of the grits were smooth and buttery and you could tell those were seasoned as well. What I did not care for were the red velvet waffles and chicken. The waffles had the consistency of a cake not a Belgian waffle. I know the batter has to be different for the red velvet aspect but it was just a fail for me and the fried chicken was very blahhh. Not much flavor or actual meat on the bone(well the one piece that I swiped) I was very glad I had not ordered the red velvet waffle and chicken I would’ve been very disappointed. Stay tuned when I try them for dinner!

This past Wednesday we tried to order 2 rounds but gave up. It took 45 minutes to get the 1st round, & the 2nd one never came even though we requested both when we sat down(buy 1 get 1 happy hour). Good food(wings, bacalao empanadas, & bacalao fritters), & good drinks if you’re willing to wait for hours. I can’t in good conscience recommend this place to anyone, unfortunately.

Amazing place! I went on a Friday night, sat at the bar and the bartender rich(I believe that was his name) was super pleasant, funny, and knew what you wanted before you had to ask! Drinks were strong an on point and he kept me laughing which kept me drinking an happy! Food was on delicious… Vibe all night was marvelous

The people working were working hard and sadly due to a small staff a lot of the needs of the patrons of the restaurant could not be tended to. The restaurant has a lot to offer but only having 2⁄3 waiters and only 2 cooks is not efficient.

Drinks, food and Ambiance were great BUT waited an hour for our meal and the place was not even crowded. I went for Brunch, they advertised unlimited mimosas for an hour and they ran out of champagne so to make up for the inconvenience the manager gave my friend and I each two drinks on the house for the long wait and for not having champagne. Overall I would give this place another try. Prices were also reasonable.

Food is delicious and so much fun! We drank more than we probably should have, but the atmosphere and fantastic meals were worth it. Rich and Jamal are absolutely amazing and such enthusiastic employees. Always make Beso a priority when you’re in Bedstuy.

Wait staff here is weird. A lot of items on the menu were not available. The first time i went to this establishment it was for take out. So it was very simple service and too the point. they were courteous and I was pleased. Second time i went, we stayed in the restaurant and i don’t think I would come back again even though those wings are banging! The rest of the food honestly wasn’t memorable and we had several options to choose from on our So BESO, next time have all the food that you state on the menu, especially when you you are serving some of your first guests for the night, and train the wait staff to be a little more people friendly or people approachable. Its not that they were not friendly it was just an awkward encounter.

«Can’t wait to return» I just moved to the neighborhood and was in search for a local watering hole. I was pleasantly surprised with the service(Richard is a great bartender) and the people that were there. I have a 2+ hour chat with one of the people from the area. The restaurant has a very bright and colorful décor that is very inviting. The food was AMAZING. I had the dominican sliders and the papas braves. The stewed beef and slaw was prepared perfectly. Actually, I am craving those sliders as I type this review. The only thing is that you only get two sliders — most places give you three sliders per order. Most of the drinks were very delicious and I cant wait to try out some more. This place definitely is waterhole approved. Plus, I hear the brunch is pretty amazing here.

I really wanted to like the place. I love to support my local restaurants. BUT nothing was right . Ordered the chicken taco that came cold, the chorizo meatballs, so tasteless. The only thing I tried that was good was the crab fritters . The service was the WORSE .we were there when the restaurant was empty but maybe a table in the back and impossible to get my waiter to interrupt his talk to the bartender . Then we were a party of 3 and they charged us gratuity. Because 2 more friends joined us for drinks? I don’t know or maybe because the service was so bad that they know they have to force the tip ?? The drinks were strong but not that tasty . Then they started taking the trash out while we were still eating. Who does that ?? This is definitely a place I will never return to. But who cares because between Saraghina, Peaches and l’Antagoniste around the corner, who needs to.

Beso baby, you’re killing me. This place has so much potential and I want to keep coming back, but today really did it for me. Our server was the only one there. I felt for her because she had to do everything herself. There were 3 other tables in the restaurant. When out server comers over, we ask about happy hour. She tells us that sangria is the only thing on happy hour and that she wasn’t sure what else was on happy hour. There’s a sign out front that says happy hour from 3 – 8 and I was confused as to why there was only one drink on happy hour. So we order the sangria and she tells us that it’s not made yet. We end up ordering rum punch. The punch was awesome! But it was $ 35 for a pitcher and when evenly split, it was only a glass and a half so it’s kind of a rip off. When we went to order, they were out of a lot of the tapas and the ceviche. We ended up ordering the babacoa fritters(amazing!), the chipotle empanadas(great!) and calamari came out as well even though we didn’t order it. We ate it anyway and it was delicious. We finish our food and then get a pitcher of the sangria. Worth the money! I think we both had about 2 and a half glasses and it was $ 25. We loved he fritters so much we get another order. It was taking awhile for out fritters and after awhile, she comes back and asks us to close out with her because she’s leaving. She informs us that out empanadas are coming. I tell her we didn’t order empanadas and that we ordered fritters. She tells us that’s what she meant and gets out check. She drops our check and I ask her if our food is coming. She then tells me, «don’t worry, they’re coming.» Not worried, but a little insulted she’s trying to rush is to pay before we have our food. On the check, she charges us for empanadas. I tell her, again, that we did not order empanadas. She tells us that there’s no button of fritters and that she had to improvise and that they’re the same price. Fine. So low and behold, our food comes out. And guess what? They’re empanadas. So I tell her that we didn’t order empanadas. She blames the kitchen(I don’t think they’re at fault here) and then says to me, «you can have them if you want, they’re the same price.» As someone who also works in the service industry(it’s so annoying when people say that but hear me out), I would’ve at least offered a discount at the very least. I reminded her of our order twice and she still brought out the wrong thing. We tell her that we don’t want the empanadas she says to us, «so.I have take it off of the check?» Uhhhh yes? The food was so good, so it disappoints me how awful the service is. Please step up the service Beso because I love you! :’(

I don’t normally come out to this area in Brooklyn but this restaurant and bar is quite delightful. My friend works in a school kind of nearby and I had a random day off in the summer so it happened. Margaritas, Sangria, and wine are all 2 for 1s during happy hour. I recommend the wine because the margaritas are both tiny and a little on the sweeter side versus the alcoholic side(how I like it). I switched to Chardonnay after I realized the miss-hap and that I pretty much downed my margs like sugar candy water without feeling anything. They have a really nice backyard area with bright blue walls, interesting metal design decorations, and a ton of plants. Which, fair warning spawn an awful lot of mosquitos. Food was pretty quality. They also have a discounted tapas menu during happy hour. We went with the papas bravas because who doesn’t love potatoes covered with cheesy sour cream things?! The Guacamole — which is served with crab meat and plantain chips. Not entirely sure if the crap meat is fresh or canned but it tasted more towards the fresh side to me. I really like this combination and for the price it can’t be beat. Lastly, we ordered the crab fritters served with pico de gallo. I don’t remember those standing out as much. But the happy hour deal is a trio of appetizers for I think under $ 15. Not bad. They also do a really affordable brunch on weekends for $ 15 unlimited mimosas. Only major complaints: Service was kind of slow. There were points where I thought our waitress totally forgot we were sitting outside, portions are fairly small and wouldn’t be worth it at normal price outside of happy hour, drinks were watered down if you weren’t drinking wine. A few kinks but overall a nice relaxing place worth checking out.

I’d heard of this restaurant for a long time, but never had a chance to stop by. I came in on a Sunday with my brother and his fiancé for brunch. I was happy to learn that they did offer an unlimited mimosa option. That’s music to a bruncher’s ears. Our waitress was pretty awesome, friendly and attentive. She certainly helped in gaining bonus points. The food was ok, nothing extraordinaire. We actually almost ordered second meals as the portions didn’t quite hit the spot on that hungry Sunday morning. I think it’s worth visiting this restaurant if you are in the area. I’d like to try something else on the menu and possibly return for dinner.

August 2014 I revisited Beso about a yr later and I wanted badly to fall in love but it was a fail. I love this neighborhood and this block. I love the ambience and vibe that Beso promotes but the menu fall flats. My sangria was subpar. No kick at all and quite lacking even in flavor. It was watery 10 mins later. The Baccalaitos didn’t seem to have much codfish no matter how we cut them and then the guacamole tapas didn’t have an authentic guacamole taste. The plantain chips were well done but a meager order. I won’t try to find another reason to visit. When I hang or dine in looking for an experience and on both counts my experience with Beso has been dismal.
