Popped in for a drink around happy hour and had a drink on the menu tweaked to perfection just for me. The drink was well balanced, fresh, and unique. A great cocktail(+ great company from the bar’s owner) makes me a happy girl!

I have never been to Greenpoint before so when I had the chance to go for brunch at Glasserie, with some new friends, I jumped at the chance for more than just the reason to see them… I had read great things about Glasserie and didn’t know my day would continue on to be such an interesting fun day. This«hole in the wall«bar(dark) has its regulars– when the Greenpoint residents we were with walked in, they not only knew the bartender but some people at the bar, and I really like and miss that… when I lived in Hoboken in my early 20s it was very similar… but this is a totally different vibe… obviously! It is a hipster vibe I’m not gonna lie and I’m totally not in that game, with an artsy kind of euro touch. The drinks were incredible(major score) they had a special margarita with a wine topper that you’ll see pictures of that was off the chain… and the back porch where everyone is rolling their own cigarettes is a pleasant surprise– I’m not that cool. I buy camels if I’m going to smoke, but it was an experience. The inside is very dark which I kind of like if you’re going to a dingy(dark) bar on a Sunday afternoon to drink and across the street was another bar that seem to have an absolute shit ton of men. It’s called the pencil Bar or something like that because they used to make pencils there… I’m not sure if it’s a gay bar because pencil kind of implies to me something to do with a phallus, but either way they were very handsome men outside and just wandering around Greenpoint in general. Not judging just observing. A nice margarita with Rosemary infusion & a red wine topper was $ 12– perfectly reasonable for New York standards and made me feel extra fuzzy so kudos to doing it right and having a very relaxed vibe.

On our local Greenpoint beer tour, we first landed at Broken Land. The inside: dingy and kind of gross. The drinks, boring and not worth the money. Most reviews require more explanation but this place just not worth a second look.

Cool place. Young crowd but overall a nice vibe with solid value for drinks. The bartender was friendly. Nice décor. Good to find this place and it adds a nice alternative to over hyped ramona.

Between the tropical tiki drinks, the backyard patio and the comfortable interior reminiscent of your cool uncle’s basement, Broken Land is a Hipster Hideout. Meaning — you can escape here to hideout from the hipsters of this neighborhood. I’m still dreaming of that lusciously delicious piña colada. Made the mistake and ordered the small, should have got the BIG. Nay, I should I asked for a kiddie pool-size so I could swim in it. Tried a wee sample of their current punch — a watermelon/tequila/spicy thing that strangly tasted like hay.(Hay, you say? Yes, H-A-Y.) Moved on and ordered a perfectly-made and refreshing daiquiri and then Blackberry Bramble which had the well-crafted trifecta of blackberries(duh), bourbon and elderflower. It made my Minnesota-DFL-loving heart SOHAPPY to see the framed picture of Paul Wellstone above the bar. That was the cherry on top for me.

On the strip over in the part of green point there are a few bars but this one feels like you picked the right one. Half lounge area half bar stools it’s good for a few different occasions. House selection of beers is vast and the mixed drinks are pretty good. Recommend the rum and coke float for a good time.

Great selection, reasonable prices, rarely too crowded. Not as pretentious as pencil factory across the street. If you liked Lulu’s(RIP) before it fell victim to rent overload, come here with a slice from Franklin’s to honor the memory.

Probably my favorite bar in Greenpoint(aside from Ramona, which is kind of on another level). Frozen pina coladas are delicious! The backyard is nice. People are fine, bordering on obnoxious when it gets late but what do you expect. Bartenders are generally cool. This place rules.

I lived literally next door to this bar for about 2 months back in 2013. I wish that I did now that I’ve been to Broken Land, but it is unfortunately an actual impossibility to live near a cool place while simultaneously living with sane people. That kind of luck would be testing the Gods of New York far too much and would surely cause all of Brooklyn to implode. Anyway, I was here for only one drink, a sazerac, which was made beautifully and deliciously by the skilled bartender. And my friend and I had just taken a glass etching/mixology class across the street so we knew what we were talking about, uh huh. My friend greatly enjoyed his rum old fashioned, which is apparently a thing that you can order. At $ 12 each, I’d say the drinks here are a standard price for a well-made cocktail in Brooklyn. The night was beautiful, so we sipped our beverages outside on the wood– and brick –centric back patio. Back patios are so nice. Astoria needs more of these.

More like Bro-ken Land on a Friday night. I went with a friend and we were hit on by belligerent drunk guys in the backyard and I looked around and saw two girls nearby get encircled by two guys. I also got some leery vibes at the bar. This neighborhood is changing! Im still giving it 4 stars because it’s usually chill and fun. The backyard is great and the staff is friendly.

Great drinks, mellow atmosphere. I haven’t been here in the summer so I can’t speak to what looks like a great patio. It is stub-your-toe dark inside so don’t go there to get anything but Vitamin B. Bartenders were professional and courteous.

Great drinks. Why 3 stars? DJ is trying to be like Girl Talk and do mashups. Problem is, he only lets the song play for 30 seconds and when you finally get your groove on, he changes songs. Asked him to let it play longer and he replied«I can’t do that». HANGTHEDJ!!!

As part of the few who actually don’t do the hamptons during labor day weekend, we stuck around the area and went bar hopping. My friend recommended we go to Broken Land for some amazing Pina Coladas. We walked in, said hello to the bartender and sat down at the bar… and waited… and waited… and waited. Finally, my boyfriend got frustrated and went over to the bartender and asked if she was planning on serving us. The bartender seemed out of it… but took our order. As I usually find pina coladas a little too sweet, I got a margarita on the rocks. But I did taste my friend’s piña colada, and it actually was pretty good. But flagging down the bartender to get another drink was a little difficult. Not sure I would go back. The drinks were good, but between the service and how many flies were buzzing around(a lot), it still a little TOO divey and I don’t know if it’s worth my time.

I’m not gay but this place has the hottest male bartenders south of the newtown creek. Drinks and service are great. Great date spot. I’ve made an ass of myself there after work many times and they still welcome me back! Good times!

Oh my goodness! What an awesome bar-discovery in Greenpoint! It has an awesome back patio that is perfect for a lazy afternoon for cocktails and hanging out with friends. The rum punch was delicious! For a slightly more different option, the Farmer’s Tang had bourbon, carrot juice, orange juice, and ginger beer, which was a tasty treat! Absolutely go check it out on the next beautiful day!

This bar makes me want to break my lease and move to Greenpoint – it was that good. A friend and I were wandering around the neighborhood on a Friday night and this place looked welcoming, so we stopped in. The bartenders were friendly(and cute) and the vibe was relaxed. We sat out on the patio and took in the nice weather. Once we got chilly, we moved inside and on to the fainting couch(well, that’s what I called it). Since it was on the earlier side of the night, it wasn’t too crowded, but you can tell this place gets busy later on. We both tried the punch of the day which was delicious, and the music was fun and help to set the mood. Would love to go back and make eyes at cute dudes from across the bar.
