Great tacos and mole tamales. Their beef stew is really good as well. Service is a bit slow but it’s legit. This is my regular joint for mexican food.

Great little Mexican restaurant. Got the bistec burrito and red mole pork tamales. Yum and yum. The steak wasn’t dry and had good flavor and the portion size was pretty decent. Wish they’d roll/wrap it better so it didn’t end up turning into a burrito bowl when you went to pick it up. Tamales were very moist and almost had a cake like quality, little too soft for me, but very flavorful and worth getting if you’re in the mood for some steamed cornmeal.

Great food and very good service. My girlfriend had the huevos a la mexicana, while I ordered the chilaquiles con huevo y carne. Both were delicious. We’ll be going back often – it’s now our go-to Mexican joint in Sunset Park, a neighborhood rife with options for cuisine of this style.

Well this place used to be Cuba’s who was a fine man with a real classy demeanor before it became what is now Alimentos. Instead of Spanish food it is now Mexican fare. My usually spot for tamales didn’t have any because of the hot weather they were not making tamales so I decided to try this place. Whats up with these immigrants I don’t mind people coming to this country but dam learn some English or at least some Spanglish. I asked for the salt and pepper and they looked at me like what u talking about. Tamales were ok I just have a hankering for tamales at least once a week. Not bad place but I am sticking with the tamales.

It’s a little small and the service is a little slow at times. But… Oh My GAWD! The food is like being at home with your mama cooking in the kitchen. I’m not from these parts, I’m visiting from California, so I kinda know what good Mexican food should taste like, oh and I am MEXICAN, so yeah. It’s as authentic as it gets, down to the«Café de Olla», which is Mexican ground coffee, cooked with cinnamon on the stove. Just ask them for lechita(or milk) if you like that. They also make licuados(milk shakes, without ice cream). The licuados are just like you want them. Chocolate nesquick with bananas, strawberries or mango… etc. For breakfast one day I had chilaquiles, with egg. It surprised me that the egg was sort of served on the side(well, on top) of the chilaquiles and not all mixed in but whatever, they were HELLA good & crispy. They also came with a nice helping of refried beans. The next day we went in and I ordered a quesadilla de flor de calabaza, squash blossom, and that was amaze-balls, too, with a freshly made HUGE tortilla stuffed with lettuce, Oaxacan cheese, runny sour cream, and your choice of green or red salsa. The lady also offered some tamales. The tamal that I had was green salsa with chicken, also fabulous for a whopping $ 1.75. All I want to end with is this: when I come back to NY and Brooklyn in particular, I will be hitting this place up. Enjoy and it’s CASHONLY, just so you know.
