Horrible customer service. They mixed up my order and told me to fix it I would have to pay again. I had to go in person, only then would they give me the chicken enchilada I ordered instead of the chicken ENSALADA they gave me. the food was good a 3.5 out of 5 but the waitress and the lady who takes food orders were nasty and rude. I would never order from them again.

Before you decide where you are going to get dinner tonight, ask yourself: Do you want Chile Relleno taco with French Fries? Not on the side, but FRENCHFRIESINTHETACO? If your answer is «Yea, Buddy!» then Tacos Cachanilla is the place for you. My Taco Placero de Chile Relleno was a huge homemade tortilla filled with rice, rajas, french fries(?!), and a stuffed pepper. It came with a knife and fork. It was good but a little greasy; the homemade tortilla was alternately soft and crispy. I couldn’t finish it, too full. If the idea of French Fries in your taco is a little bit weird(and I think I probably fall into your camp,) it looked like their other food was pretty standard and authentic. In the end, I don’t know if I’ll be back, but I can definitely see what people see in this place. WARNINGONE: The jukebox was blaringly loud — probably not a good place for a first date. WARNINGTWO: The salsas are aggressively spicy, but are also some of the best salsas I’ve ever had.

Their tacos are stuffed. The waitress did mess up our order because she didn’t really understand English though. It was okay. We tried the tacos and tostodas

My friend and I ordered tacos, I had 2 chicken and he had 1 beef 1 chicken. I found my chicken tacos to be tasty, but there was nothing special about them. My friend told me that they were too dry, and he’s lived in Mexico so I suppose I’m not exactly the authority on authentic tacos. They were satisfactory, but overall, generic and nothing extraordinary about them.

I’ve seen them cut meat on the concrete ground in the back. They have garbage cans in the back that they prepare food out of that sit around outside. Often their garbage is stacked up and stinks up the place.

awesome powers! I got the Taco Plasero con Huevos and holy f*s4it! What is this invention? A burrito tortilla, rice, hot peppers, french fries and hard boilded eggs. Za??? Now, I had intended on doing a taco tour that day, and it screeched to a stop at Cachanilla. After starting to eat that monstrosity, I never put it down for fear that one of my mexican metal head neighbors would jump at it. My girl got the tlacoyos, it had some sort of nutmeg spice in it. Surprise yum factor. Also got the fresh beet/celery juice. Tasty and cheap. I would give it 5 stars but I didnt try their meats and cant fully recommend YET. I only wish you werent so far away.

The«good Mexican» wars will always rage on in New York City seeing as that the best of the cuisine is always cooked in homes, but here might be one of the top three. This is the old«Los Compadres» but everything seems to be the same. Not afraid to serve gringos spicy food, a definite plus. They make a couple out of this world homemade salsas here. Smother it on everything!

Do not eat here-unsanitary! I see how they use trash cans to mix their food. In addition they leave raw meat outside in the summer heat which attracts flies. I have also seen children preparing the food. It is really that horrible scene. I’m sorry, but I’m not lying. UPDATE: — I’m not joking about their sanitation violations — look at the following city date link

I really meant to give this place 3.5 stars. I do have to say that the food here is a far cry above ALL of the mexican food that I’ve had in manhattan so far, and almost all of it in park slope. You can definitely get a pretty solid taco here, including one kind that actually has papas fritas(french fries, no kidding!) inside of it. A couple of the tacos, including the ‘tinga de pollo’(spicy chicken) were VERY spicy, and I’m no stranger to spicy cuisine. It’s a nice little place though, usally not crowded, and you can get some good food here for not to much ca$h.

A decent place in Sunset Park with highlights and lowlights. + Drinks. The limonada is incredibly good. Worth the trip alone. A little sweet, fairly tart, and simply delicious /Tacos. They were fine but nothing great. Chicken was the highlight, which is never a good sign. — Meatballs. I’m not sure what the term was on the menu, but they were pretty much meatballs. Big sure, but kinda low quality. Wouldn’t order again. ++ Salsa. They combine the salsa with a crema fresca(I think that’s what the waitress said) and it was incredible. Most Mexican restaurants in New York seem to slack on the salsa, which is sad. Cachanilla blows them out of the water.
