It might not be a full blown restaurant, this hidden gem is also a deli. But QUESADILLAS! and handmade on the spot! No mexican restaurant in Sunset Park makes their quesadillas as fresh as these guys. It’s packed most of the time and since they are handmade from scratch, expect at least a 10 minute wait. You need to try this for yourself.

Awesome campechano and chicharron prensado. Big heart behind the food and very traditional. Tacos are tasty and well-priced. Not a huge draw because it is in such a random location.

Convenient but sometimes their milk is bad.

Don’t judge a book by its cover… This line definitely describes this place. You can walk by this place everyday, but won’t seem to notice it. This is truly a Hidden Gem in Sunset Park. The place is small with a couple of tables. The menu hanging above is handwritten, which adds an extra touch of «home cooking» I went inside with a friend and told me to order a Quesadilla. It was made with fresh hand rolled tortillas. Crisp to perfection with great pork filling… The lady who makes them adds a generous amount of cheese so it’s nice and gooey. This is definitely worth the trip five avenues up and 20 blocks over!

There are so many unassuming delis and bodegas in Sunset Park shilling tacos and tortas beside the multitude of taquerias and formal restaurants that one can afford to be picky: so pick this place. Here you’ll receive un pollo o cecina(salted beef) taco con the traditional garnish de cilantro y cebollas lovingly wrapped in a handmade tortilla(by one of the two persons manning the grill) by the lovely ladies who despite mi poco espanol insisted on replying en ingles. Quanto costa? Far less than they’re worth, I can assure you.
