Affy’s Premium Grill

Food is great, extremely slow service. Our party of 10 had reservations, didn’t take our order for 30 mins. Took us an 1 hr and half for us to get our food. I would advise the owner to consider getting an additional grill for the chef and some more waitresses. If the service was better we would come more often.

Made a reservation at the restaurant for 8.30pm for my party of 6, only to be told that they did not have my reservation. Waited an extra hour to be seated, and clearly showed them on my call log that I had called 2 hours prior and made my reservation. Owner admitted it was the fault of his stag but did nothing to rectify the mistake.
Overall slow service. Everything was slow the waitresses all looked confused and the owner hides away in the corner of the restaurant and I suppose is unaware that all his employees are working at snail pace. If I could give 0 stars I would. There are other halal restaurants nearby that are much better. Don’t waste your time here.

When this opened up, I didn’t think it was a big deal as another desi restaurant selling American food. Not sure if it would be good.
But nope, I am wrong! It turns out it is a franchise, and the chef was trained!
The ribs were mouth-​watering! I suggest you go here for birthdays or special occasions, and try to make reservation as it gets packed up on weekends.
We went here 3x times already, and never a bad meal. Even the kids meal was really good lol

Not sure what the big deal about This place is. Maybe because they serve halal food? Anyways I wouldn’t come back here a second time.
We had the ribs and the filet mignon with sides of veggies and mashed potatoes. We also had a chicken dish which I can’t comment on because I didn’t try it. The only decent thing were the ribs and the bbq glaze on them. The filet mignon was over cooked even though I asked for medium. The mashed potatoes were not good and I don’t know how you can screw up mashed potatoes. The veggies looked sad and probably reheated frozen stuff. All in all, it was not worth the price and I would rather spend that money elsewhere.
Customer service was also not great.

Went there with my boyfriend the first time and then the following week went there for my brother’s birthday.
Pros:
It is hard to find a legitimate halal steakhouse where they know how to cook the meat properly. The price is really good especially for the quantity of food we good. They also serve a free appetizer of salsa and tortilla chips while waiting for your food. Definitely recommend trying the Putin fries, top sirloin, mango jalapeño chicken and shrimp (though the sauce had too much mango), and fish and chips.
Cons:
The amount of time you have to wait for food is ridiculous. The first time I went with my boyfriend we went they have just opened and we were the first customers (and only customers for a good 45 min) so I don’t understand why our food came almost an hour later. When we went for my brother’s birthday same thing except we went in the evening. The ribs were a disappointment. Felt like it wasn’t marinated, just cooked with some sauce on top (still had a meaty smell and taste to it).
I will give a shoutout to Josephine (our waiter) extremely funny and a great personality. Keep this girl, i would go back for her lol

Been meaning to try this place for a while now. Overall the food was decent. We had the fish fingers to start and it was pretty good. Also had the beef bbq ribs, ny strip and fish and chips. Steak was ok. I’ve definitely had better; it was doused in a tasteless sauce. Margaritas and the brownie with ice cream were very good. I’d come back and try something else.
Only con was their service is extremely slow… like zombie slow. It took about an hour to get our food each time we’ve been there.

We waited over an hour for our food — it was for the 4 of us. I never got my drink that I ordered. The bathroom was disgusting. Definitely needs some cleaning and some freshener there. The food was cold when it finally came after an hour. I would definitely not go there again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

I read some negative reviews so I was worried about trying this place but I’m really happy I did at the end.
We were a large group so we tried a lot of dishes … they were all AMAZING!
The Bbq ribs are mouth watering with a great flavour (it’s Huge).
The fajitas were so good, the rib eye is nice.
The side dishes were not great but they were good.
They serve nachos & sauce at the beginning & you’ll need it since the food took about 45 minutes to come but don’t worry it’s totally worth the waiting.

I’ve been planning to come eat at Affys for so long but my visit was delayed after hearing so many mixed reviews about it. Finally gave it a try today and I am so glad I did. Tried the short rib, beef rib and ribeye steak. Although I wasnt a fan of the peppercorn glaze on the steak, the meat was excellent quality. Both types of ribs were cooked to perfection as well. Definitely coming back to try other items. Our server Josephine provided us with excellent service and recommendations.

5 star and beyond!!! first time in my Unilocal history I wish I could do a 100 star review. We walked in and Gonxhe introduced herself and sat us down very quickly. She was all smiles and just very knowledgeable about the menu. We are on a ribs trip from Virginia to new York. Our quest stops here. no one can do better ribs then this place. My husband got the full bbq back ribs. when it came out. I said wow. the portion was huge. I joked with gonxhe and asked her the reheating instructions. But it was sooo good my husband finished the whole thing. For me I did the Hawaiian ribs. and the taste was a bit different from the bbq back ribs but it was equally amazing! When we thought of new York and halal food we thought it would just be mediocre. This place surpassed all of our expectations and beyond. We will be picking up to go orders on our way home tomorrow. The owner hisham checked on us mid meal and then had a nice conversation with my husband after the meal. We deifnetly tried to convince him to expand and open a location in Virginia. Nice beautiful place, with amazing staff and amazing food! So glad we found this place.

Amazing food! Super filling. I had the Hawaiian half rack of ribs with mashed potatoes, garden salad and poutine fries. Server Samantha was super helpful and nice! Good portions and the fact that it is halal is great! There aren’t many halal options like this. When me and my friend wanted to go pray Maghrib, Samantha was very accommodating on getting us a prayer mat and letting us know which way to pray and where we could pray! Will be back !

Went here for a dinner last night, great ambience.
Dinner for four, got NY strip steaks and cheeseburgers.
For appetizers we had nachos with chilli and stuffed jalapeños poppers. Nachos were spot on! While the poppers were filling but could be a lil spicier.
Steak was great but the burgers were an epic fail.
Wasn’t cooked to perfection. Beef smell is a no-​no in a cheeseburger. They don’t have (American cheese).
Our server (Gonxhe) was very nice and friendly.
Not sure if I would repeat may be for steaks…
P.S please add a vestibule!

We ordered the following main items:
New York Strip Steak with Cajun Lemon Butter
Filet Mignon
Top Sirloin
Stuffed Cajun Chicken Breast
Fish and Chips
Everything was absolutely delicious. I expected perhaps one of the items to be a hit but each one was terrific. I can’t wait to come back here again.
One tip: If it’s a cold night dress warmly. The front door does not form a seal when it closes so the place remains fairly cold inside.

Extremely poor service, poor management & premium prices!!!
We went on cold winter night. They made us sit closer to the restaurant entrance. While it was 6 degrees Fahrenheit outside, it certainly felt like 20 degrees Fahrenheit inside the restaurant. The only thing they said was «we know it’s cold inside,» like it would’ve made a difference. Everyone at the restaurant had their jackets, hats and gloves on the entire time which is an awkward way to have dinner.
We made a reservation for 8:15pm gave the order by 8:25pm and the food was served by 10:00pm after constantly inquiring about the food and telling them about us leaving. The food was served in installments. Not only the food wasn’t completely served, it was partially cooked and we had to remind them to send the side orders that comes with the platters. I ordered well done steak and they brought me a medium done steak. The mashed potatoes were cold and definitely didn’t taste good. They were short one dish that I ordered and after realizing that, they brought it and said «it’s on the house,» and then they also charged for it in the bill. They were heavily understaffed on a Saturday night.
Overall I definitely don’t recommend going there on weekend. Take out might be okay to try to give them a shot but definitely avoid going on a cold winter night because it’s a torture sitting there.

There are a definitely few things that this restaurant can improve on, but overall, I can’t complain about my dinner experience. These are three reasons why I’d go back:
1. BIG portions for the price you’re paying.
2. Great service! Shout out to our waitress, Krissy, who also highly recommended their mango smoothie. It didn’t disappoint!
3. BBQ Dusted Chicken Wings

Highly recommend that you stop by McDonald’s or A food cart before coming here. Expect to wait at least an hour before getting your food or drinks.
Oh, how was the food? I’d say it was great, if we got it. Going on 1 hr 13mins and still waiting for it…

I went there for a late lunch today with a friend. We both had the steak fajitas. The food was delicious. The seating area and atmosphere was nice and clean. But the waitress brought us the wrong drinks. We ordered one thing and she brought us something totally different. She was kind of absent also. When we needed something there was no waitress or staff around so we kind of had to wait for them to reappear. I think they were all in the back.

How happy am I to have a halal steak house 15 minutes away from me? Utterly delighted.
The restaurant opened about a month back, and is already buzzing with large groups of people.
The interior: welcoming vibe — clean, spacious, and steak house-​y.
The food: pretty good, ⁴⁄₅
We had fried calamari to start. Well done, but a lighter sauce, something sour/​spicy and sweet wouldve been really good.
The ribs could improve. I wish the meat on ribs were actually seasoned prior to stacking them up on the heat. Seems like they just slathered some bbq sauce on top. Other than that, the meat was cooked really well — tender and juicy.
The jalapeño steak pasta was on point. The steak was also tender enough and seasoned well contrary to the ribs. Great taste overall.
The mashed potatoes and fries were also pretty good.
The service: not sure if the server was new, but she was trying to do everything too fast and it resulted in clumsiness. Other than that, she was sweet and friendly. Just relax and steady your pace, hun!
I think being a new restaurant, there’s definitely room for improvement but I will be going back to see their progress. I see a great potential in this restaurant. Up your tastes and service and you’ll be in the competition.

My husband and I came to this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Atmosphere: clean & quiet we went on Saturday at about 5:30−6pm and it was just us and two other patrons there. There’s no music or TV. I think it’s nice there’s no tv so people can actually converse.
Staff: the waitress took our order and once the food
finally came she didn’t check on us even once even though barely anyone was there. she did bring us extra
Napkins and a1 sauce upon request and that was it. The service was extremely slow appetizer came pretty much 5 minutes before the entrees…
Food: we ordered affys Classic steak 7oz & top sirloin steak and appetizer was jalapeño poppers. The steak was well done and juicy I didn’t care for the steamed veggies on the side they were bland mash potato was average. My
Top sirloin was supposed to come with shrimp and there was no shrimp when my dish was served. The jalapeño poppers were supposed to come with chicken but ours were only Filled with cheese it wasn’t anything special not with $ 8 won’t be ordering that again. I’m giving three stars for the steak only because it’s halal and it was well done
