I have stayed at this hotel twice: once for a bachelor party and once for a personal reason. This is a decent run place and a decent place to stay. This is a convenient location for if I ever want to dine at a restaurant(there are a few nearby). I noticed that the employees have a great eye at keeping everything clean and organized. I entered a perfectly clean and comfortable hotel room. I always felt comfortable walking around the room and the building. The room service employees always made sure that I was comfortable during my stay. I had requested that they not come into my room while I was staying there, and they were respectful of that. The check-in clerks were friendly when I checked in and checked out. I loved that the hotel offered free breakfast every morning. It was mostly donuts and coffee, and they were delicious. The employees obviously made sure the food was not stale. Not all hotels are generous enough to offer this, but this place is. My only complaint about this hotel is that the mattresses were slightly too firm. I had trouble getting comfortable at night and falling asleep. I think replacing them with softer mattresses or offering a variety of mattress types would solve this problem. If I ever have a future special occasion and need a hotel to accommodate the occasion, I will continue keeping this place in mind. I feel like I can count on them to offer a good experience.

I stay in quite a bit of hotels due to the nature of my job, and I have to say that in the last 2 years, this may have been the worst Super 8 experience that I’ve ever encountered. Where to begin? PROS: Conveniently located to the the interstate, a continental breakfast(if you can call it that), and friendly front desk service. The latter of which is interesting since the only thing that is offered are waffles, old bread, and torn up cinnamon rolls. There is coffee and juice, yet this is about it. I will give Super 8 credit in that they have somewhat of a breakfast choice, as opposed to only coffee at a Motel 6 or just nothing at all. Points there. The bathroom is okay. CONS: Extremely noisy. I know that this is a two-level location, and I understand that some places will have walls so thin that you can hear your neighbor’s every movement. In this Super 8, not only can you hear who is next to you, but you can hear everything above you as well as on the outside of the room almost a half block away. Also, the room furniture is extremely outdated and«interesting» with mildew stains on the chairs as well as on the bed itself. The linen that I had was suspect, into which it had an odor to it. Lucky for me, I brought a blanket in my luggage to place over top of it to get a somewhat restless 4-hour sleep. Plus, the temperature gauge or whatever for the room as well as the smoke detector were ripped out of the wall and just hanging out of the wall upon entry. Yeah, real nice impression, Super 8. More CONS? Well, here you go. The internet. Its kinda laughable when the front desk employee says that this location has high-speed internet. Trust me, pre-1995 dial-up speed is faster than this Super 8’s. So embarrassing that two customers in the morning had to bring their laptops down to the front desk to get a signal due to its close proximity to the router. The front desk clerk answered two calls during my check-in to say that the reason why the internet was so slow was«due to being a packed house tonight and bunches of kids downloaded games.» C’mon, now! Don’t insult my intelligence. You think that one or two bars is high-speed? Plus, the power outlets are extremely limited within the room, so bring a power cord with you if you stay here. I arrived late for this Super 8 and did not really feel compelled to challenge my rate of $ 65, which I thought was overpriced for a Tuesday night. A $ 65 rate for a $ 39 room? Pfffft! Considering that I was bothered by the lack of internet(when its advertised that its high-speed), bed sheet odor, paper thin walls and just loud door-slamming and yelling, I had to cancel my reservation for an additional two nights. I ultimately wound up staying over in Plymouth for the remainder of my trip at a different hotel. In all fairness to this Super 8, it is in need of a serious remodel. I don’t know if it is because it used to be another motel before a franchise owner purchased this building, but it needs a lot of work. I was so embarrassed to stay here that I didn’t want to take any pictures or even tell my wife. For those that want to check this location out, I stayed in room #156, which is across from the laundry room as well as exit(whose locks don’t work, despite the paper that is posted on the door saying it is locked from 11PM-6AM. This location can do a lot better. I truly wish that it would have for me that night.
