Came here to see the space for a private event and ended up having lunch. I thought the service was good and all of the dishes we ordered were great! We ordered the pasta e fagioli, fried calamari, paella, simple salad and Cajun salmon. I think their brunch menu is lacking in choices but their full menu has everything! The manager was also very friendly when explaining the private event menus to us.

I was invited to a birthday party at Pine Bar and Grill recently. It is very nice with a large bar and there’s a room for private parties upstairs. The waiters were friendly and the food was delicious. I wish that it wasn’t so far away from me or I would return. Conveniently located a short walk from the 6 train. The DJ had everyone singing and dancing.

I went here a while back with my fiancé and her family to celebrate her dad’s birthday. My girlfriend’s dad has a Chinese accent. It’s not that strong, but it’s there(though he’s been in the U.S. for 30 years, and and I’ve never had any trouble understanding him.) But the waitress and another server at Pine were incredibly impatient/insensitive/rude. He had a few questions about the menu, and they treated him with derision. They acted like he was an idiot(he has a Ph.D.) who was wasting their time. We almost left, and really we should have. We should have at least said something to the manager, but we didn’t want to make a fuss on her dad’s birthday. Anyhow, suffice it to say, we will not be back.

This is my 3rd time here in 3 years! Only tells you that entrée is not that compelling, I would say mediocre at best, yet on a pricey side. I come here for convenience coz I live in Parkchester and some of my friends work in Einstein Hospital(across the street from this place). For the same price and better food, I would suggest Patricia’s instead which is also a few blocks away.

Second time here. And like the first time I am not excited to return. The service was ok. The menu has a thousand and one things on it like they couldn’t decide what type of restaurant they wanted it to be. A nice portion of the items listed are seafood oriented but they still have chicken wings rib tips burgers fries so there’s that for picky eaters. Why two stars? It was not a good dining experience. The atmosphere was as if I was sitting in a dining room not a restaurant. I was not pleased with my entrée dish. Salmon Penne. It was not nasty it was just bland. Not flavorful at all. Not even Parmesan cheese could save it. My thoughts on it were I guess when I get home I’ll doctor it up. The server was ok but I don’t think they wanted to be there either. I would not recommend this place to a friend or pick it as a place to go. I enjoyed the cold glass of water I had. :/

Everything was good until we got our food. We ordered the lunch special Yankee cheesesteak spring rolls, lasagna and grilled salmon. The cheesesteak rolls were still cold and the lasagna was smothered all over the plate. When we asked about the rolls and lasagna, the bartender said«oh no problem, I can fix the rolls but the lasagna I’ll have to ask my manager about.» I thanked her, and moments later the manager arrived asking what was wrong with my lasagna. I replied«it’s smothered all over the plate and the sauce is so watered down its gathering in one corner of my plate.» He says«mami, it’s the lunch special so it’s cut in half and that’s how it it.» I gave him w blank stare and asked if he would eat what he served me. He then asked what I would like to do, and I replied exchange it for a plate of salmon(which my boyfriend got and enjoyed). He reluctantly agreed. But wait, the spring rolls! They come back and it’s the same pieces that we were eating before only MICROWAVED!!! Now we all know what happens to spring rolls when we microwave them! The salmon comes out and it’s rare … Since when do I have to specify how I want my salmon cooked ?!! I’ve experienced eating undercooked salmon and am well aware of the risks I was FURIOUS! Only for the manager to say, «all salmon here is cooked the same». What an asshole ! My boyfriends salmon was cooked perfectly fine ! If they want to stay open, they should fire The heartless manager and get someone whose actually got a clue about tourism and hospitality. Needless to say, I’m kind of pissed, considering the fact that this was a celebration brunch. Service and food sucks smh.

The service got off to a pretty slow start but rounded up as the experience went on. The bartender/waitress explained that the waitress called out & that was the reason for delays. The ambiance really saves this place. The food is pretty good but I think the ambiance really adds to the way you feel about the food. Don’t get the calamari. Tasted like rubber. We sent it back & she gave us free shots that were very tasty. We will definitely return because all the other food was good.

I can’t give this place enough praise. I’ve been here a couple of times for lunch and dinner and it’s one of my favorite restaurants in the Bronx. I like the environment, it’s very relaxed. The food is awesome from their mac and cheese to seafood selections(try the paella) and their signature drinks will put you in a good mood. This place also has outstanding wait service. I will be visiting in the future.

My husband and I eat here often, we love the food. The portion size are huge even down to the salads. so far there hasn’t been a dish that wasn’t delicious. If you’re a lasagna lover try theirs it’s very good. Make sure you stop by the dessert menu, it is a must. My personal favorite is the cream brûlée, not sure if I spelled that correctly but it’s so good. Enjoy

We loved our visit for brunch so much we have booked the place to celebrate our wedding celebration. Staff was really sweet and the food was delicious. Prices are so much cheaper here for brunch in comparison to any city brunches. This place is huge and in the summer has a roof top deck bar. Awesome sauce!

Mistakenly chose this location of the Pine to celebrate a coworker’s promotion and farewell. We had such a great experience at the other location for a Christmas party for work. Picking wrong location was the Biggest mistake! The only thing good here is the food. Location for parking sucks. The waiter was horrible, lacked patience, not pleasant in his interaction, and clearly lacked some training. A desert request was made to say congratulations and he started telling me about what he could not do because he was not in that profession. Any restaurant I’ve been been, whom ever is in the kitchen handles that. He then proceeded to tell me the were Hispanic and blah blah blah. I just walked away. Needless to say this was a surprise and I said forget it from there. I was extremely annoyed. Before lunch could be ordered, the waiter brought out the dessert with the writing on it and plopped it in her face with the fire shooting in the air. I’m glad she was excited but of course asked for it to be stored in the fridge until after eating her lunch. Clearly this waiter did not have much common sense. To top it off, in the restaurant my co worker and I received our receipt with credit card swipe, signed and left. Due to the holiday, she approaches me about her card being charged amount $ 53 on Tuesday. When I checked my statement, my card was charged $ 18. Calling back the restaurant, they wanted us to come in to complete transaction. We got the run around and had to call the management office. Bottom line, nothing was resolved. As advised by restaurant we had to work out the difference for their inconvenience. Needless to say, after 2 weeks went by, we decided to settle the difference between us. I wasn’t satisfied with his service and with this experience I will never set foot again! Nor would I recommend this place! Save your money, time, experience and yourself any headaches. Go celebrate at an establishment that puts their customer’s first, understands how to provide customer service at a restaurant, and that will make it pleasant/worthwhile.

Great place to have a nice family dinner or a group of friends. Just be ready to shout as it gets pretty loud with the chatters and music in the background. Good food served in large portions. White wine was good but 1 serving was half a glass portion only. This location is smaller than I expected but still classy.

One of my favorite spots in the Bronx! Very nice ambiance… nice spot for a date too! ;-)(Don’t let the location fool you.) My favorite dish is the Penne A La Vodka with Salmon. The drinks are delicious. Great happy hour specials.

So, my first few times at Pine were great. The last few times? Not so much. The second to last time my husband and I came here together I ordered the sesame crusted tuna and wasabi mashed potatoes again. I was so excited because it was SO delicious the first time. I asked for it to be cooked medium, however, once it arrived, the tuna was damn near raw. I told the waiter and had him take it back. After a few minutes I got it back from him with a snarky remark about it being put in the oven. And because it was put in the oven it was now overcooked and rubbery. I was not pleased. The wasabi mashed potatoes also had blue-green specks, which to me seemed like whatever they use in the potatoes wasn’t properly mixed in, making it look less than appetizing. We’d also ordered the crispy calamari and it wasn’t too great either. It was just as rubbery as the tuna and the only crispy part of the whole thing was the peanuts on top. I was quite disappointed. It was also very hard to find our waiter whenever we wanted something. I left hungry and annoyed and contemplated never coming back. However, a friend of mine wanted to try the place out about a month later so I found myself back here, this time on the rooftop. So almost immediately things were weird. One waitress came and we started with one fish taco appetizer, but we made it clear to her that we were going to be ordering more. Well after waiting for quite some time, another waitress came over, and was seemingly displeased about the fact that another waitress had taken our order before. Seems like someone took someone’s table. I don’t know. Either way, it took forever for the tacos we originally ordered with the first waitress to come out, while other things that we ordered afterwards were starting to arrive at our table. For my meal I’d ordered a burger and it was just okay. It wasn’t at all special and for a place like Pine I was expecting a great burger. I don’t know what happened to the quality experience I had the first couple times I came here, but the service and the food have become seriously unimpressive.

Met up with friends here. Actually I’m here right now. It has a nice rooftop. Didn’t spend much time indoors but it seemed clean and nice as well. It’s Thursday so it’s ladies night and the drinks are cheap. Got 2 drinks for $ 10(sangria and a mojito). The sangria was written on the menu to have patron, but since it was happy hour, think I got gypped. Got what I paid for. The service wasn’t amazing, but one of my friends says she usually gets a hook up. I didn’t order with the table got my drinks from the bar since I wasn’t eating. At the end the table got the bill and a lot of things taken off. It’s one of those they take care of you spots especially if you’re a regular. I probably won’t back, because I don’t frequent the Bronx, but if you’re in the area check it out. The drinks were decent and the food looked good even though I didn’t partake.

Great place for a happy hour! They make good food here and have good prices. This definitely a place to take family. I have never been to the rooftop, but if I am in the area, I would not mind checking it out. You cannot miss when coming here.

So I have been here quite a few times. There is nothing in the area like it as far as bar/restaurant. There is a rooftop area which is fun in the summer. The music is not bad, the staff is friendly, the vibe here is just relaxed yet you can socialize. Food here is pretty good. The calamari is great. Infact the marinara sauce they give with it taste so fresh and clean(I think they make it on site). The portions are huge, the food in general taste made after you order it lol. It did take a little bit of time to get our dinner but we had a group of 15 so it’s completely understandable. The décor is nice, the upstairs section is quiet, definitely has a romantic vibe if you need, also has space for big groups, the tables are spaced out well. I definitely didn’t feel I was apart of other peoples conversations. That being said loved the intimate setting. Drinks were awesome. Berry mojitos hit spot and you can never go wrong with peach ciroc and sprite. So if you bored in the area this definitely is the spot to be at.

Its been 9 yrs since I last ordered take out from the pine. Not because I had a bad experience. Only because I moved to Pennsylvania. This lil gem in the Bronx still lights up my taste buds. I ordered the usual chicken parm. sandwich and a order of fried calamari. The chicken parm is at least 16 inches long. It’s safe to say it’s a healthy portion. Easily shared by two or more people. The chicken is cooked with a perfect crust and smothered in marinara sauce. If that doesn’t make you mouth water. It is baked with fresh mozzarella that completely cover ever inch of the chicken. I mean you cant even see the chicken. Now that’s a true pine specialty. Ok, now onto the best calamari in town. It’s lightly fried with a perfect batter. Not too heavy at all, but light enough to still allow the calamari to swim free. We all know calamari if not prepared correctly. It becomes somewhat rubbery.(That’s no fun) It’s served with fresh lemon and a bucket size marinara sauce. Which is good enough to eat with bread alone. I have not found a spot that comes close to their fried calamari. If your in the Bronx, The Pine restaurant is a must do!
