Great place for lunch! I had the pastrami sandwich and creamed spinach. My lunch guest had the crab cake sandwich and veggies. We both had French onion soup. Here’s the lowdown: All were great! We both agreed the soup was the best French onion we had ever eaten. Service was excellent and the after meal cup of coffee; fresh, hit and delicious. If you’re in Bristol, you gotta try this place.

I lived in NYC for 12 years and didn’t find the Brooklyn Grill up to par in any way. Some things are good, others quite mediocre, but out of our 3 trips here, always disappointing overall. I always want the food to be better than it is and the bill is always higher than it should be for what you get here. They really miss the boat with the pasta dish that is served with both a marinara and pesto sauce with red peppers. It sounded interesting(a good vegetarian alternative too) but it doesn’t work folks. ugh. However, we loved the fried oysters appetizer. People sitting nearby were really enjoying their steaks. My friend thought his ahi tuna was«fine.» Entrees are very pricey for the area, and be sure to ask the price when ordering specials so you are not caught unawares. It’s a nice location and setup and good atmosphere though — without the bothersome, irritating, distracting TV! Hopefully the chef can pull a new menu together and keep things above average for chain-banged Bristol. It’s needed! The potential here is huge. I will try lunch here next time with lower expectations.

Pastrami was too salty. French fries tepid and soft. Tried to send then back but cook said they were freshly made. I think not. He should have remade the fries at the very least.

Awesome waitress. Very chatty, knowledgeable about menu. The chicken Marsala was the best I have ever had– anywhere. The shrimp and crab pasta was good. Service was a bit slow and I had to ask for the check twice. It was a little pricy. But I would go there again if I’m in that area.

This is the best restaurant in Bristol! Not far off the interstate so if you are traveling through it is worth the stop. Their fried oysters, lump crabmeat, cactus chili and crabcakes are best in area. Great service – very accommodating. Worth the stop!

I went to school and worked in Manhattan for years before coming to the tri city area. Also lived in Brooklyn for a year, so I was tickled by its name and wondered if the food tastes like Brooklyn. Well, food is quite good, menu is rather like cafes of Brooklyn than Bristol. While our hostess/waitress was friendly, I should have stuck with the menu than what she said that worked and was ok to change. My fiancé tried crab cake sandwich since many other Unilocalers are raving about it(and it was yummy, a bit on the salty side), and I got the $ 18 Mahi Mahi salad. But I also wanted pan seared tuna… the staff told me the substitution could be made but left out the extra $ 14 part. When my salad arrived, it had a huge chunk of tuna. I mean it was huge to be in a salad! When you eat a seared tuna that is raw inside, most places cut it up small for ya, otherwise it’s just. too much tuna. Also they are usually well-seasoned so you don’t taste slightest bit of that fishy taste. Well, mine was not only as big as a T bone, it was bland. Just too much bland raw tuna. It also unfortunately didn’t work with the rest of the salad. :(I ended up asking for some raw onions to make it more edible. I think charging extra $ 14 wasn’t all that bad as the meat was so big, but you can imagine what I felt when saw the check. A 32 dollar salad that was mediocre, I have had better salads under $ 20 in Brooklyn or Manhattan. Am I going back after all this? Yes, I will give it another try, after I am healed from this initial experience. Everyone has bad days. But I will stay with the menu, and accept that I am here not to expect a taste of Brooklyn, but a «feeling» of Brooklyn.

I travel quite a bit for work so I’m always looking for a good meal in an unfamiliar area. I found myself in Bristol for work about a year ago(sorry, just catching up on my reviews!) and decided to give this place a shot. Two things — Awesome food. Great service. It’s owned and operated by a husband/wife couple, where the husband is the chef and the wife is the hostess/server. She was so nice! I had the crab cake sandwich and it was amazing. I will definitely go back if I’m in Bristol again. *One thing to note, and I’m not sure if this is always the case or just happened to be when I was there, but I was the youngest person in there… by far(‘m in my mid-twenties). I did go during the week so maybe that had something to do with it. This is neither good or bad in my opinion, just simply making note of it. All in all, awesome place!

Oh man! I have lived in Bristol for 18 years and hadn’t eaten here until now. Mom and I were wondering around looking for a new dinner spot and she suggested this one. I was completely blown away by the taste of every single thing that was set on our table. The cactus chili was so sweet yet spicy. The pork chop with apples was the best pork chop I have ever eaten. Mom got the French onion soup which she cooed over as she ate. She also got the crab cake sandwich which was delicious. I don’t know how he does it, but every single sauce that was with our meal was phenomenal! I can’t wait to come back again and try some dessert!

Traveling through, signs all over parking lot says open for lunch and it was closed at Saturday at noon. Should keep their Unilocal hours up to date.

Wow! To be honest, being a New Yorker on a road trip when I saw this place I expected it to be terrible but it was like 9 pm and my group was starving and this was the first place we saw out of our hotel so starving beggars cant be choosers. Well it turned to be the second best meal I had on the drive from Boston to the little rock(number 1 being dry BBQ ribs but who can compete with a rib shack) The crab burger is a must with almost no breading and plenty of crabs. All the food looked fresh and tasty! And plus, I always want to take a photo with the Statue of Liberty

Gourmet comfort food! Driving through the state of Tennessee to Massachusetts, did not want a chain restaurant. Looked on Unilocal, found a great review regarding a comparison to the French Laundry and I was sold! The eggplant appetizer was delish! The chicken Marsala was amazing! My husband had a spinach salad with a warm Gorgonzola sauce, almost brought me to tears! His steak stuffed with blue cheese was fork tender, cooked perfectly, and the mushroom Demi glaze rocked! Even though it was busy, the service was fantastic! Decent wine selection. And surprisingly for a small restaurant, the wine temp was spot on! Kudos to the chef! We are big foodies, and we were very impressed!

I am giving it 5 stars for«As good as it gets!» because it absolutely is «as good as it gets» in Bristol. It actually does get better at the French Laundry or Eleven Madison, but we llive here and there is no better place to eat in this area than Brooklyn Grill. Our favorites are the salmon, duck, calamari, friend oysters(when Carl offers them) the white chili(when Carol offers them). Really. I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. It is consistently good with good service which amazes me since Laura is frequently the only person waiting tables. There are a few pretty good wines and they do a good job with cocktails. When guests come to town or we just want to enjoy a nice dinner with friends, this is where we go.

Bristol did not top my list of culinary experiences BUT I tend to disagree! Being from S Florida and tending to eat out frequently I was not looking forward to eating deep fried veggies and calling them«veggies». When I stepped into Brooklyn Grill in Bristol, it looks like and american bistro-applebee’s style joint. OHNO, I was wrong. Its a family business owned by a Chef and his wife, our waitress. She does a great job making it homey. Wine selection was decent, full bar, but wait the food is YUMMY!!! I had the penne de mare YUM, coworker had duck he said it was delish, Salmon GREAT, and lobster ravioli… another WIN. I highly recommend this place if you want a great meal. Don’t forget the chocolate cake… Good Job Bistol!!! I will return.

Love this place. Food is amazing! So gourmet and yummy. The owners really work their business. The husband is the Chef, Carl, and The wife, Laura Beth, waits tables. They come out and chat to each table and make everyone feel at home. I love their Salmon, my daughter always get the Ravioli. This is a MUST visit restaurant.

Lunch counter style with a twist of gourmet. Felt like we were in Brooklyn till you would glance out the window and not at the dozens of New York pictures on the wall. Though the Statue of Liberty out front tries to dissuade you. Very polite staff.

I haven’t been around Bristol a lot lately. When I think of eating out when visiting my parents, I think of Ruby Tuesday or other chain restaurants. So when my sister suggested that we have lunch out, I was expecting on of the chains. But she suggested, Brooklyn Grill and off we went. The first thing I saw when I opened the Crab Cake Sandwich. New York style. I asked how it was, she said it was spicy. My mother asked how much breading is there? Response … not much it is mostly crab. So I decided to take a chance to try them out. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. It was a large crab cake. Not only was it large, it was delicious. It was almost too much … and that is impressive given I am a crab lover. Freshly made chips are included with all sandwiches. I will have to make this a regular stop when I am in town.
