I have only eaten lunch here so I can’t comment on how dinner is but I understand the menu is the same. I love the outdoor seating area. very comfortable although really busy at lunch. The service I had both times was friendly and informative. 620 State not be confused with the Stateline is described as casual dining which it is but with upscale food and a well stocked bar. The menu is a really nice balance of upscale items with all your basics including burgers with a twist and other sandwiches. I really enjoyed the smothered chicken which comes on a tasty ciabatta bun and bacon. who doesn’t love bacon. I have also had the 620 burger which is quite good. It comes with bacon of course and avocado which I love on burgers. Topped off with a very tasty jalapeño sauce — very nice touch. There is a very good wine selection which I enjoyed with my meal. The deserts are a most try.- I had a sticky bun with ice cream with some coffee. The other entrees that patrons were enjoying looked quite good and well prepared. I understand that they half price sushi as my server was telling me. I think 620 State is a perfect marriage of casual with upscale food and drink. Bravo for finding that fine balance and staffing with really cool people that have a passion for pleasing patrons.

The Lovely Lady and I stroll in here thru downtown Bristol on a romantic(at least to me) rainy day. She’s the«Prototype» as Outkast or my «Dorothy Parker» as Prince would say. Shall I gv up my west coast roots for her? very likely. 2016 holds a lot of promise.
She had the chicken stir fry ‘somethin sumthin’ and I had the tilapia fish tacos with some crunchy red cabbage slaw and some tuna sashimi to freak out the Lady. she won’t try it. I will eventually bring a lil CA sushi luv to this lovely TN belle. I also had a Moscow Mule to wash it all down. This place is beautiful in an old skool bank bldg kind of way. High ceilings, hardwood floors, warm environment throughout. The waitress was good and on point. Attentive. Courteous. Patient with my non decisive a$$… just too many good food choices No worries. I’ll be back to sample the meatloaf wellington, shrimp n grits, or that ribeye sandwich.

The food was great the manager, the one looks like Conan O’Brien, was a douche bag and the bartender was slow

Good beer(given the location) and service. So-so food. The odd menu was kind of a turn off(e.g., burgers, sushi, grits). Unilocal coupon was helpful though!

I heard great things about this place and was so excited to have maybe found a great place for Pad Thai. We got Kung pao chicken also. The Pad Thai was almost tasteless with overcooked noodles. The Kung pao was fair… But they forgot to include the side(it was a takeout). Perhaps the American cuisine is better?

Amazing… I live in MD and this was the best sushi I’ve had in a very long time. Had a junkyard roll and the 620 roll. Both amazing.

Great place, just wonderful. I love the insight that Unilocal gives. Look at the desert, sticky bun w/ice cream, yum, yum. Friendly staff and atmosphere, I love the down town area, we will be back. Meal was great too.

I really liked this restaurant. We went for dinner with my in-laws because it is one of their downtown favorites. I ordered the salmon entrée that comes with cheese grits and asparagus. I also added a side of burgundy mushrooms and a cup of vegetarian tom kha soup. For shared appetizers, we ordered the firecracker shrimp and the big orange roll. Big orange roll: awesome. I normally shy away from soy wrapped sushi rolls, but this was so good. Tempura shrimp roll, topped with a spicy crab salad and chili sauce. Yum! Firecracker shrimp: delicious. Crispy and the sauce was tasty. This was one I wish I had ordered for myself as an entrée. Tom kha soup: really good. It had quite a bit of heat to it. I like spicy food so it was alright by me but it may be too spicy for some. It also came with crispy noodles for dipping. Burgundy mushrooms: I personally didn’t like these because they tasted too much like wine. More wine than mushroom. I ate a few and pushed the bowl aside. Salmon: this was really good and different. The salmon was served on a bed of grilled asparagus and cheese grits and was topped with a sweet chili sauce(maybe the same as the sushi?). The salmon was cooked perfectly. It had a little char to the exterior but was tender and perfectly cooked inside. Asparagus and grits were good too. Our server was friendly and attentive. Nice décor inside. Loved the lighting and the fact that one of the TVs was playing 90s ESPN with Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. I would definitely visit this spot again next time we are in town.

We’re traveling cross country and stopped for lunch in Bristol. I have to admit that I didn’t have high hopes for this place as we’ve found that the reviews in small towns have been limited and mostly inaccurate. However, we were really happy with this meal. Service was friendly and the dishes we ordered were well prepared and good tasting. We had an avocado roll, the salad with salmon and the chicken nugget salad. Each one was good and made with fresh ingredients. The only complaint is that both salads had cheese and bacon on them even though those didn’t go with the Asian style preparation of salmon/ginger dressing. If you’re stopping in Bristol for a meal I think this is a good bet.

We’ve eaten at Stirfry in JC and Kingsport so we are familiar with the mixed menu genre. BTW I do not think a sign beside the door leading to the restaurant would be asking too much. A meal should not start with utter confusion. We were just ahead of the crowd so were seated quickly. We were craving Asian and my husband really enjoyed the Hot and Sour soup(it was hot and strange to me but what do I know – actually I make a very good h&s myself). His Sesame Chicken was a bit dry but a manager discounted it. My Drunken Noodles were very good with tons of shrimp and lots of leftovers. I think the place was stark with little ambience except the multiple TVS all tuned to… sports of course. So is it a Sports Bar or a nice restaurant? You decide. Very good wait staff.

What a gem. Had dinner one evening and went back for lunch the next day, it was that good. The chef select sushi roll was top notch for dinner and the shrimp with grits was heavenly for lunch. The cucumber margarita was the highlight of my trip to Bristol this year! It will be a must stop whenever we go racing in Bristol.

There I was on a quiet Tuesday night in a nice pair of jeans and a button up shirt, nothing fancy and heading to 620 State fully expecting to be underdressed but to my pleasant surprise I was clearly not the most underdressed and fit right into the subtle yet classy enviroment that welcomed a wide array of people. We were greeted by a young smiling gentleman that informed us of a 20min wait. and on a Tuesday! This place was worth the wait and the service was prompt and prefessional and the food was more than what I expected, exceeding my standards. What I most enjoyed about this place was that while it was crowded and loud, and with the random sports channel on the big screen TVs, it still felt personal enough to have dinner and conversation. Can’t wait to stop in again.

Very open. Nice atmosphere. We had never been but decided to go ahead and give it a try. Turns out, it’s StirFry, basically, with a couple of extras. It’s even suitable for those not entirely committed to Asian cuisine. So it works well those that can’t make up their mind as to whether to have sushi or steak. You can have both. We enjoyed it and will go back.

Good food doesn’t taste the same when the people behind it are rude. Manager called my husband a dumbass(to waitress) for showing a photo of this coupon. The gift option did not work.

620 is a mix between a bar and a casual café, the wait staff is really polite and on target each time I had visited. The restaurant’s menu was unexpected – some interesting selections. Nice atmosphere. A little pricey for some things like the crab ragoon which is delicious, and accroding to the waitress that served me is made by the kitchen from scratch. I would reccomend this place.

The few times I’ve come here, I feel like their menu is having an identity crisis. The sushi is pretty good for being in the middle of the country. I will say that their sushi is better than their fish dishes. Their steaks are good. This restaurant is nothing to rave home about but it is consistent in presentation and flavor. if you’re looking for a place that will appeal to everyone in your group — this is definitely it. And they have nice outdoor seating.

I rarely give a one star to a place, but I really wanted to do that for 620 State. First of all, it’s definitely not new. When it first opened it was really very good. But that was a few years ago now and the food has just gone downhill since. The meals I have there when folks who haven’t been want to go check it out(and won’t listen to my advice) haven’t been horrible, but they haven’t been good enough to finish. I was at a shop in downtown Bristol and the owner had just picked up lunch from 620 State. She said her sushi was terrible. She couldn’t eat it. My hairdresser, who swaps good restaurant tips with me, said he couldn’t go there anymore because it was so disappointing. He’ll only get an appetizer because«they can’t screw that up too much.» So please take my advice if you read this, 620 State: Get new chefs, a new menu, hire a cleaning crew, and get back in the game. With other restaurants coming in downtown and near town, you’re going to have to compete with more than the incredibly boring and mediocre competition you have been like Macado’s and State Line Bar & Grill. I’d LOVE to come back, but every time I do, it’s just worse than the time before. Go back to the food and service you had when you opened. Please. I don’t like writing bad reviews of hometown restaurants. Bristol is changing and you need to step it up.

Very friendly service! Loved Kegan! Food was very tasty. Get the lava cake for dessert. It’s awesome. Shushi roll was amAzing! Husband had the meatloaf Wellington, also good. Firecracker Shrimp for an appetizer. Yum! Even though Unilocal offers two deals for this restaurant, they will not honor them both. Don’t get them thinking you can use them both tonight. You cannot.

When the restaurant is obviously slow and the service is slower-red flag. When the main course is served right after the lukewarm appetizer was served-red flag. What was also a red flag was the unique ability to create an almost completely flavorless dish-they called it Chicken Pud Thai. I cannot recall the last time a dish had absolutely no flavor-good, bad or indifferent. I finished about a third of it and didn’t want the rest, but it didn’t really seem to matter to the server. A complete waste of time and money.
