We have driven by these places several times. We decided to drop in and check it out. I always thought it was a burger joint and that is what I expected. Well was I ever wrong. They have a very friendly staff. Excellent food and even better peach cobbler. I am not a fan of sweets; but this cobbler isn’t like my Grandma used to make. It was wayyy better, sorry Grandma. It wasnt overly sweet, but just the right amount. Sticky and gooey. It did have walnuts on the top(not mixed in) and I’m not a fan of nuts in general so I just pushed them to the side and dove it. They are in the process of upgrading the food items and putting a bit more focus on the«fun adult drinks». So I’m even more excited to go back and check it out. We don’t eat out often, but when we do, places like this make the outing even better. Totally recommend this place.

Didn’t know what to expect, all of the local BBQ places were closed on Sunday. But what a surprise, the Sunday menu was fantastic, lots of good comfort food. I had the chicken fried pork chop, with brussell sprouts. And for an appetizer I had the fried green tomatoes on a bed of cheese grits! So Damn Good!

Not bad, for the most part the fish was crispy which is key for fish & chips. Hush puppies were good and fries were OK. I will always gravitate towards a place I have been when is getting late and no time to read a lot of reviews, even if it is a chain. Service very good as always.

Had a great experience at Fatz Café! It was my first visit to the restaurant. My boyfriend said I had to try it. We went on a Saturday night. We were concerned that a table of three would have to wait. But we got seated right away. Our server, Bert, was a really sweet guy. Very friendly and attentive. Because I was a first-time customer, I was given a sample of Fatz’ Calabash Chicken with a side of honey mustard dipping sauce. The chicken was mighty tasty. I’m usually not big on honey mustard, but there was something different with this one. It went well with the chicken. He also brought out poppyseed fried bread with cinammon butter. The bread reminded me of little balls of scones. Very tasty. For dinner, I ordered the pot roast open face sandwich. It was delicious! It was just the right portion size and was very flavorful — not overly salted. After dinner, Bert brought out a slice of Fatz’ Carolina Peach Cobbler. Talk about a slice of heaven! It had a lot of peaches and a nice cinnamon dusting. I loved the walnuts in it too. It was a real treat to dine at Fatz. I would highly recommend a visit there. The service was great, the employees were really nice and full of the southern charm. The food was delicious.

We had a terrible experience at lunch while visiting the Bristol area so by supper time we were ready to relax and have a good meal. Driving down the road we had our taste buds on another establishment however when we passed Fatz we decided to stop. Neither of us had ever been to a Fatz restaurant and really didn’t know much about it. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and sat immediately then greeted by our server Breanna. An appetizer called Cajun Firecracker Sticks and two 23oz beers were ordered. Very quickly our drinks arrived and shortly behind them or appetizer came. For supper we ordered the Big City Reuben and the Calabash Combo. For our sides we both ordered the grilled vegetable skewers. I can honestly say that our food was outstanding! The food tasted fresh and delicious. I want to specially point out our server and the management. I am sorry I don’t remember the managers name but she stopped by our table and even sat down with us and listened to our compliments of our experience. If you are in the Bristol area please stop by and ask for Breanna!

Stopped by the Bristol Fatz last week for a quick luncheon. I really didn’t know what I wanted, but our server explained the specials and made some excellent suggestions. Ordered the salmon and it was delicious. The service was quick and the entire restaurant was spotless. Yep, Unilocal, this is going on my «must go there again» list.

I’m giving a high review for food being good but leaving the last star blank because of the experience i had the last time i was there. I went out to eat with my husband and by the time i left i felt like crying. A waitress told my husband she would sit down and eat with him if she could, was kinda flirty with him and the entire time i felt like he was getting more of the service than i was. I felt like i was put on the back burner. My husband had to try to get me to feel better because my confidence took an extreme beating after my visit there. I was a little scared to eat out again for fear of a waitress flirting with my husband. I love the food but i’m afraid to come back… :(

Got a nice email from the company saying how sorry they were for our poor experience. Mentioned they would send some coupons for our return visit to Bristol in August. Gave them my address but to date HAVENOT received anything. So they can be assured we will NEVER spend any money at any FATZ locations.

Let me make this one short. Mediocre chain food, pricing is a tad steep in my book for quanity and quality. Nice modern place that seems to draw in a more mature crowd. Location could be better, some may have a hard time finding if not familiar with the area.

I was taken here for lunch by a co-worker who raved about it. I went in with no expectations and left quite surprised that they exceeded anything I could have expected. To begin with, the service was top-notch…in fact at one point I had the manager, the hostess, and my server all standing at my table talking to me as if I was the only person in the restaurant. It is always a nice surprise to be treated VIP-like by service staff. Amazing that these people still understand that they are earning their tips rather than just expecting them. Their chicken strips are truly wonderful. At the beginning of the meal they brought out a sample platter of them and I was immediately hooked. I ended up eating a lunch sized portion of them with cheese fries. I knew I was on the fast track to calorie overload, but it tasted too good to pass up. The icing on the proverbial cake was that they brought out a big ol’ dish of peach cobbler for me an my coworkers to share… on the house! We rolled ourselves out of there and back to the office with a blissful feeling in our stomachs and a smile on our faces. Next time I am in town, I will definitely visit FATZ again.

Nice atmosphere when you walk in. Rolls and chicken fingers are very good, but the rest of the feed is about the same quality as shoney’s,(sad face). It didn’t knock me out, but the prices were fair. The service was average and adequate, and the place is forgettable against top notch restaurants like Ridgewood.
