I drove by this afternoon and it seemed empty and dark so I took a closer look — I am sad to say that Scoops closed on December 23. I am sad because my daughter really loved to play here. I always worried because business always seemed slow whenever I dropped in but I hoped that the families that played here a plot would help buoy it in this poor economy. Scoops — we will miss you!

Just got another wafflato two days ago. This time the gelato was something w/hazelnut that tasted chocolaty w/some french name that I don’t remember that started w/a G? lol. I really hope this place doesn’t close down, but each time I come, it feels slow. Maybe it was because it was raining this time around? There’s a small posting in the store saying that they’re selling some artwork on their wall for $ 175 /piece. That’s a bit worrisome.

Just went to Scoops on Veterans Day my five year old was out of school and I wanted to do something special with her and her little sister. Its a very great place to hang out and enjoy some other adult company while your kids are playing. I didn’t come with a friend but there were plenty of other moms there with their kids that were friendly and I enjoyed talking with them. I really enjoyed how cute its decorated and my kids really had a great time!!! The only downside was that I took apart their big puzzle looking things on the floor to build the kids a fort to hide in and there was a LOT of dirt piled up under there. Everything else was clean so I am assuming that they just didn’t think about picking up the play mats to clean under them but they should since babies crawl around there.

I recently relocated to Brentwood and took my daughter to this place, she is 4 and she loved it, you get a kids special menu and the kids can play for free, or you pay $ 4.00 what I find pretty reasonable for the quality of the place. You end up spending WAYMORE @ Chucky Chesse. Support your local business(Brentwood business owners) and go to Scoops instead.

Love the cute clean atmosphere in this place. A great place to not just have a gelato /ice cream or sorbet but also a wonderful place to bring your kids to play. I was amused by this place, You can bring your laptop and work via wi-fi(free) and let the kids just play inside this spot. They have got a build your stuffed animal area with tons of clothing to match as well. somewhat like build-a-bear workshop. I had a scoop of gelato, although they didn’t have my favorite flavor, the pistachio. I dared myself with the roasted banana flavor(hmmmm,. it was delicious!). the boyfriend decided sorbet was safe and refreshing that watermelon flavored one is really good too. downside: they charge for the children to play unless your purchase is over $ 25. Love the concept that it’s such a relaxed place but they should just drop the price to $ 1 or $ 2 rather than $ 4 per child. Our visit yesterday they didn’t have much on their fridge isle nor much of the mini cakes. which was a bummer, I would have had a sweet cake or two but there were only a few left in window display and they didn’t look very tasty. I might come back with my neices and daughter but it would have to be on a special rate day promo. They have special day discount such as first child is $ 4 the second child is free(free for sibling play day).

Scoops food is good, the kids play place is so so. I did really enjoy the crepes and the bubble drinks. The place was a little dead, and I thought the furniture for the adults was very uncomfortable… not somewhere I’d want to hang out for hours while my little one played. I also don’t like the fact that Scoops charges for your little ones to play, this may be doable in the bigger cities, but were in Brentwood and their business doesn’t seem to be booming.

First off, I want to say I didn’t order anything, so my review is not reflecting the food at all. But, I went to Scoops today with my 22 month old daughter, and she had a blast! But I didn’t. There was no one else there for her to play with(I mean, really, it was DEAD in there) and the whole place looked clean from a distance, but then we got into the play area and it was just gross. The walls had been colored with crayons, the toys were visibly unclean, none of the battery-operated toys even worked, it was so freaking hot in there, and the play area was pretty messy. I know its a kid’s play place, but if no one is there, perhaps they could have cleaned up a little bit in their down time. We stayed an hour(because the baby was having fun), but then left because no one else showed up, I was hot and sweaty, and I was falling asleep. Oh! And don’t even get me started on the bathrooms… ick…(I didn’t realize we were at a gas station… ewwwwie)! This place is probably fun on a Saturday morning. I wouldn’t suggest going there unless you get there early(perhaps the toys and play area will be cleaner). I just wish I had a chance to visit when they had first opened and everything was new and clean… I would have probably written a better review.

Very cute little spot to take your kiddies in Brentwood. We went to check it out as a possible location for our daughter’s 3rd birthday. The play area is really cute with little stations such as a cooking and shopping station, a painting station(with little aprons!) and so much more. Since we got there late, there were maybe 3 kids in there. If you order over $ 25, your child gets to play for free. Otherwise, it’s a $ 4 child charge, and $ 3 for the second child. We ordered about $ 27 worth so our daughter played for free. Now on to the food. They serve a variety of crepes called«Crêpe Daily Specials», kid’s crêpe’s, and dessert crepes. I like crepes, but my husband is not a big fan. In fact, if we host a kid’s party there, not sure if the kid’s crepes(included in the party package) will be a hit since I can’t imagine a 3 year old trying to cut the crêpe to eat. Prices are decent for crepes. They serve coffees, tea, italian soda, bubble teas and gelato. Love the idea of taking your child out to play, and the parent can relax! We’ll check it out again!

I take my toddler daughter to Scoops at least 2x/week. This place is great, and reminds me of the play café’s we used to haunt when we lived in Berkeley. Rose has 20 kinds of gelato, at least half are directly from Italy. They are delicious, and will be more so on the hot summer days. The décor, and the staff are terrific, and the crepes are awesome. They make kids crepes as well. My daughter most likes the pizza or the peanut butter/jelly one. It seems to be hit-and-miss on when the café get’s slammed with activity. Otherwise it is a cool hang. Plus, it’s great to have free wifi for my laptop activities :) We recommend getting the frequent visitor card!

My son and I went to Scoops today with my dad and his wife. The place is bright and clean. They didn’t have plain Iced Tea so my dad just had a coffee. I got an almond bubble drink which as very good. I was hoping to eat lunch there, but we ended up getting hot dogs across the way. Anyways, we got there at 10:30 and the play was empty. Around 11:30 two other families arrived for lunch. So it was nice that my son has some other kids to play with. My dad’s wife built a bear with Dylan and helped pick out an outfit for it. All in all, Scoops is a great place to play. $ 4 bucks to play all day! There’s no place in San Ramon/Pleasanton that allow you to play for more than 1.5 hours for $ 6 – 8 bucks.

Great idea, executed perfectly, and priced wonderfully! We had never been here until about two weeks ago, but were invited to Jackson’s birthday and we were pleasantly surprised. The dining and play areas are brightly lit, clean, and very child-friendly. The food seems to be limited to crepes(sweet and savory), gelato, drinks, and espresso(maybe smoothies). This may have changed, as they were only open for about three months when we went. They are independent(not a chain), family owned, and make good effort at running an ecological/green business. Quality of all the food and drinks were great, selection of crepes and gelato was good, too. As far as the play area goes, it’s a great idea to be able to stop in and have the kids play while you eat. Although I agree with a previous review that crepes on paper plates and plastic utensils is hard for the kids, it’s not too bad. The service was great, and we’ll definitely be back again. Crepes were about $ 5, gelato about $ 3, and espresso based drinks were a little cheaper than the usual from Starbucks.
