I am so upset at this salon right now, I went in to get a retouch and I came out with my hair back to my natural hair color. I have an event to attend to, and now I am stuck trying to get my hair fixed!!!

I made the mistake of bleaching my hair myself and it came out horrible. I thought I was past the point of no return (also kind of embarrassed of coming in to Carlton). But NICOLE was super patient and understanding and put me at ease and saved my hair. I walked in with an ugly brassy orange and walked out with a beautiful smokey grey which I originally wanted to achieve. The entire staff and overall experience was a full 5 star for me. Super happy and confident now.

Michelle did a fabulous job on my haircut! I have tons of hair that is often difficult for some stylists to manage. Michelle paid attention to detail and texturizing to suit my hair and style.

Kristaaaaaaa is the best! Thank you for saving my hair! Everyone at this salon always has the best attitude and does their very best to accommodate each client.

Michelle is the best stylist! I’ve been going to her for over a year now. She’s amazing with color and small details. She makes me feel welcomed and comfortable every time. I’ve been growing my hair out and she keeps me looking fresh with a cut and color. Thanks Michelle.

I went in to the salon yesterday for my appointment with Francesca and I couldn’t be happier with my hair!!! I knew that it was going to be a lengthy process because I was getting a color correction but Francesca and her assistant were both so nice and let me know what was happening every step of the way. I definitely recommend her for your next color!

This place hooked it up! Engagement party… hooked up bride to be and sister… Totally accommodating… we were running late and they just said no problem… thank you everyone!

Last week I got my hair cut and colored by Krista, and love it!
It was my first time getting my hair done by Krista, and basically I went to have her fix what another hairstylist did. She really kicked butt! I had this horrible orange/​brassy color left over from my last dye job. I really couldn’t communicate anything besides, «I want this color to go away.» I really appreciated the time and energy that she put into doing my hair.
Krista is great, and I highly recommend people to seek her out! She is a true hair color chemist, and really gifted at what she does!

Although I have never had a bad experience at Carlton hair salon, I really did come for the great service and styling done by Jamie!
She has moved to Salon Amerige in Fullerton!
So if you want perfect Bettie bangs or vibrant alternative color, you can find her there!

Today I got Balayage highlights done by Franchesca and I couldn’t be happier! She is so awesome!
She listened to what I wanted, looked at photos I brought and was able to execute exactly what I wanted. My hair looks amazing!
I received Great customer service by her, her assistant and the front desk stylist checking me out.
I will definitely return! If your reading this, Thanks again Franchesca! you are truly a talented, professional hair stylist!

I recently went in for a color correction from jet black to blonde. Mackenzie did such an amazing job! She was honest and knowledgeable about what we could realistically get done in one sitting. I’ve never had a better experience in any salon I’ve ever been in. Not only did she get my hair to a beautiful ash blonde, the cut she gave me was by far the best I’ve ever gotten! I received more compliments in the last 24 hours than I’ve ever received before! I will definitely be returning to Mackenzie in a few weeks to go platinum.

Jamie is the best! She took me from waist long hair to a bob! I brought pics and she worked with my hair texture and face shape to adjust it to get as close to my pic as possible. You can tell she loves cutting hair and she’s always trying to be up on the latest techniques by taking classes at Vidal (?). Best $ 62!

Came here for the first time to redeem a $ 95 New Year’s promo they had going on that included your choice of cut and color or mini highlight.
I booked with Franchesca, one of the store managers and master stylist’s, and I’m glad I did. She was super knowledgable and got the look I was going for.
My dark glaze came out looking healthy and glossy and amazing, as did my bangs.
Go here if you are looking for a sweet staff, clean salon, top of the line hair products and great stylist’s!

I love jamie! She does a GREAT job every time. Especially since I go in not knowing what I want other than some sort of cut/​trim and color.
I have extremely thick hair that has a mind of its own. But she finds a way to tame it. I’ve been to other carltons before and gone through a few hair stylists, but this salon and stylist are keepers for sure.
They usually have promotions on their chalk board displayed right outside the salon. You definitely need to stop by weekly to see their newest promotions.
It’s «pricey» but oh so worth it. You can usually just walk in Monday-​thursday.
Make an appointment for Friday-​Sunday because it gets BUSY.

Love this place! Specifically Mackenzi! She’s literally the best. I was so nervous about chopping off a good 12 inches of my hair. I have never had short hair and she calmed every nerve that I had. She walked me through every step and made sure she wasn’t cutting off more than I wanted. It was the perfect length and she did such an amazing job.
It gets better. I go home, wash it, and try to recreate it myself… I could just not. Obviously user error on my end. The back just laid a bit weird when I tried to do it. I text Mackenzi, she gets me back into the salon and fixes it without a hassle! Before I trusted nobody with my hair. I’m so happy to have found her and will be going back. Go see her!

Hair by Jude!
I love it! My hair was longer with fabulous red highlights that fade gloriously (and purposely) into a nice rose/​gold, but a personal choice made me want to go short and dark purple. Jude is always fun and playful with my hair, so this was just one more awesome experience! She is the most personable stylist I have ever been to and I can’t imagine going to anyone else. I will not trust anyone else with my hair. Truth.
I came into Carlton hair on a whim, close to a year ago and it was a miracle whim that turned out to be wonderful. Thank you again Jude! Everytime you do my hair, I receive so many wonderful compliments and I love that you allow me to be daring with lengths and colors!

January 14, 2015 UPDATE
I just got my hair highlighted and colored with no problem from another Salon in Fullerton and its only been 2 weeks since this incident. I really don’t know why this Salon had it out for me.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! They left a giant clip in my hair!!! I thought I felt a bit of a draft on my head and was wondering why people kept staring at me at the mall. I can’t believe no one had the heart to tell me lol. I have short hair so its not like they magically missed it.
I came in and asked the receptionist what she recommended to lighten my hair, whether I should dye it or highlight it. I even asked the stylist when I sat in the chair. I mean I am not a professional. That’s why I go to a salon. They wanted to do a strand test cause I colored it with Henna three months ago. I said fine. The color didn’t take and I left. Just because they couldn’t finish the service doesnt mean they have to be cruel and leave the clip in my hair. I wish I could go back and take my tip back.

I love Carlton Hair Salons because they have little gems of stylists. I’m a bit of a hair junkie and like trying different salons. I have my favorite colorist, hair stylist, and go-​to emergency hair fixer. (Oh the struggle!)
But Michelle Piña is my girl when it comes to awesome blowouts. When I’m around Brea, I go to her. This girl knows how to take care of my super dry, thin and colored hair. (No shame!) It looks good the first day but even better the second day. #hallelujah
LET’S CLEAR THE AIR. There was another Michelle who worked here (who doesn’t have stellar reviews), and they are not the same person.
Anyways back to doing my hair flip. :)

After searching for years for the perfect hair stylist, I have found her! After hundreds of dollars wasted and many years of growing out ugly chopped locks, I have finally found someone who listens to my requests and executes it perfectly. She was able to cut my hair without aging me like all the other stylists before her. She’s also able to lighten my hair without that UGLY brassiness. Seriously, no one has been able to do that. She will give you her personal recommendation and insight any questions you might have on your end result.
Pricey but completely worth it. Oh yes.
She also teaches classes, so that should give you an idea of the extent of her talents! She is an ARTIST.

Had an issue with the receptionist, Hannah. There was a misunderstanding with the appointment time but they did not reach contact with me at all. When I arrived, she informed my stylist wasn’t available even though I had an appointment. She said she left me a message and made it seem that it was entirely my fault. She look bothered and it made me feel uncomfortable enough to not comeback.
Then it showed that Perla was no longer working there. BUMMER! They informed that she is now across the street; the Grand Salon? Heads up if anyone is looking for her :)
