Hair Production

I have gone to this hair dresser several times and a certain employee with the initials L.M. has messed up my hair repeatedly! Today I asked for brown color with blonde ombré and then a few blonde pieces subtly framing my face and ended up with auburn hair with two bleach blonde streaks through the front. I looked like a stripper or like I belonged on a porn website. Then I asked her to make it more brown as that’s what I wanted in the first place and she told me she had other customers and then slapped some more dye on my head and made me wait in the back for thirty more minutes. Then she rinsed the color and then kept blow drying my hair and making it all poofy, and it was still red just a little darker. And the saddest part was that she actually thought she did a good job and nailed the picture I showed her. She’s colorblind and oblivious and I would never recommend her color services to anyone.

Cut and color by Lorri Hamilton — This was my first visit to her and her salon about a week ago, and I feel she did a great job! I look forward to future visits as I grow out my hair. Lorri knows her stuff and has a great eye for style. The salon is clean too and seems other stylist there are busy with happy clients.

Jacki is a Godsend. I went in on a Saturday for a color fix (horrible highlights gone wrong) she was so patient and honest with what she can do. After 4 hours I walked out a new woman. I highly recommend.

I love getting my facials/​waxing done by Lulan. She has her own private room and is her own boss so she goes out of her way to make your face look really clean. I love the fact she uses Aveda Products

Great place for not only hair but for skin care too! I recently went in to get my hair done and was pleasantly surprised to find out they now offered waxing and facials. Lylan was the lady who took care of me and she was fantastic. Nice, clean, and professional. It was a positive experience all around!

I have to say that I have been a very loyal customer of «Salon Selah» and their staff since I found them. A friend won a gift certificate to this salon and she wouldnt be able to use it and gave it to me. And honestly, in these times, who would turn down a free haircut!!!
I called up yesterday to set up and appointment with Sandy Lopez and lucky for me, or unlucky i was thinking at that time, she was open today. First thing I did was come on Unilocal and see if I could find others reviews… NONE. I was starting to get nervous. I mean I know its free but I didnt want to walk out of the salon with some punk hairstyle… nothing wrong with it but its not my thing. Imagine… mother of three at this 30 something age with a weird ass haircut… NO.
So I called my daughter, and told her about my free haircut and she was not very encouraging either… Basically telling me that I was a traitor and she did not want me complaining to her if it was messed up.
Sooo a little nervous, I went to my appt this afternoon. Got there at 2:35pm and was out by 3:15pm. The stylist, Sandy started to tell me how her mom is the owner and they have been around for about 20 some years and she basically grew up in the salon with the other ladies. She was actually very nice. She described her life like «My big fat greek wedding».lol.
Well… lets get to the real thing now.
She washed my hair, did a good job.
She cut just enough… did not go overboard. I said one inch and thats exactly what she took off.
I wanted side swept bangs. and thats what i got.
She blew dry and then straightened my hair and it was perfect.

Okay​.so i didnt get the hand massage I get at my regular salon…
AND I didnt get my makeup freshened up after my cut…
She was quick BUT very good. I am very happy with my hair.
So regularly a haircut here is $ 40 bucks… but like I said I had a gift certificate. And I gave her a 20% tip. I think that if I had to pay for it all, I still would be very happy.
When you have time to get pampered… Go to Salon Selah in Whittier.
When you dont have time but still want a great looking cut. go to Hair Production in Brea.
