I ordered for takeout. The gentleman I spoke with was very friendly. I ordered on a Sunday night and was told the salmon was out. That’s okay though because a lot of the dishes looked good. Their website has photos of the dishes which is helpful in deciding. I got the mushroom chicken and the jerk chicken and plantains on the side. The entrees came with mixed vegetables(broccoli and carrots) and rice. Food was great and ended up with leftovers because portion size is quite large.

Food was way below average. I have had better jerk chicken at American pubs. The conch fritters where oily and heavy. The spinach roti was a 6.5. Service incredibly slow. We actually considered leaving before entrée arrived due to the wait and good quality. Entrees were better but not worth the price. Jerk burger got good reviews but a little dry. Salmon cooked well but the sauce uninspired. Shrimp curry was the best dish we had maybe a 7.5. Music was great though. Old school roots reggae. Wait staff friendly and catered to us. Problem is in the kitchen.

Nice little BYOB. Don’t come here in a rush, they’re not big on speed to the table. If you’re looking for good food, different atmosphere and a little Bob Marley, this is the spot. Food was delectable! Service was better than average and servers were highly polite and considerate. The wife and I will definitely make a return visit. Perhaps by then my lips will stop tingling from the jerk chicken. Delicious!

Really tasty Jamaican food, service with a smile and very reasonably priced. Definitely reccomended… especially in an area of the Jersey Shore that lacks good options… We’ll be back!

My husband and I had a delicious meal. The curry shrimp roti appetizer is so tasty that I could have eaten it for my meal. I ordered the filet of red snapper Jamaican style and requested it between spicy hot and mild; it was perfect! They also accommodated my request to substitute potatoes with a mix of broccoli and carrots, also cooked perfectly. My husband had the jerk pork and said it may have been the best he ever had. The rice and beans were not as tasty as Spanish type but we think it is so it is a better accompaniment to the flavorful pork. We ended with peach rum cake. I usually pass on dessert but this is well worth the calories! Coffee was nice and hot too. Roy, our server, was very pleasant and attentive. The chef(owner?) was talking with a table when we first walked in. Since there were only 3 – 4 tables when we were there, it would have been nice for him to come out again after we were all finished. I think people really appreciate that special connection. BYOB.

Great restaurant! The Rasta Pasta and Curry Shrimp is great. Roy Reid owner/chef puts himself into every dish, take pride shows. All dinners are cooked to order so relax, service is great, very friendly. Support a local restaurant! Something on the menu for everyone.

I am still dismayed that the New York Times wrote a review on this spot. Perhaps it was because I had just come back from a trip to St Martin and by comparison no Caribbean food here in the US would be able to come close in terms of freshness and authenticity but I truly despised my meal here. The fish utilized did not seem fresh at all and the fried appetizer was far too greasy.

This place is a great little gem hidden in Bradley. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in helping decide what to order. I ordered the shrimp curry, it was delightful! My boyfriend went a little riskier and ordered the goat, it was good but i defintely liked mine better! On my way out I met Roy Reid, and gave him mad props for such an excellent meal. This place is great, different, and definitely worth checking out.

Had to convince my dad to go here instead of traditional Sunday Italian dinner. He pretty much cleaned his plate. The food is absolutely 5 stars. However maybe because it was a Sunday they only had two waiters for the whole place, so the service was a bit slow. Our water was super patient and kind. I got the rasta pasta. It was incredible. I could really taste the habanero in the chicken with the mellow pasta. My sister got the coconut fish and it was spectacular. All the fish is amazing. Would absolutely recommend!

Mixed experience Appeared that waiter forgot to put in our appetizer order… he had to be reminded and what we got, while flavorful, was undercooked. One of the ordered pasta entrees came without pasta — the chef forgot it. Two different entrees were ordered that were supposed to be jerk chicken… one was great jerk chicken; the other was a chicken breast that BBQ sauce had been put on — only OK and not jerk chicken. Took forever to get the meals and could never find the waiter even though he only had a handful of tables. While the bulk of the food was pretty decent, would not go back to due to the screw ups and slow & poor service. Can’t recommend it.

Jerk chicken and pork with plantains were great. Chef has a smoker grill out back. Try the fish dumplings with lobster sauce. BYOB. Our waitress was friendly and great too.

The food was amazing! We had the conch fritters and crab cakes as appetizers. They were both very delicious! The chipotle mayo that came with both was really good, we cleaned both the little dishes out. The crab cakes were a little small, but still worth the $ 10. My boyfriend got the oxtail, it was so tender and came right off the bone, little fatty. I got the jerk pork and rice and beans. It was hot but not over powering and the rice and beans tamed it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal!

The food is perfect. The staff is kind. The setting is comfortable with a Caribbean music. The price is right. The vegetable roti I could eat all day long. The oxtail in brown down fell off the bone. The Jerk Chicken was spiced well enough to get you to take your extra sweater off, but not to spicey hot. End with the peach rum cake.

My spouse and I came back to the Blue Marlin for a third visit and were happy we did. I had the seafood linguini, and my spouse had the oxtail. Both were excellent. We plan to return.

MUSTTRY! I went for dinner, with friends, on a Sunday night. This place has a very everybody’s-family-kinda-feel! I ordered the seafood special, which was mussels, calamari and shrimp sautéed in a garlic, butter and hint of tomato broth. I have a crustacean allergy and they happily accommodated me by removing the shrimp! My plate arrived with a heaping pile of mussels(and maybe a handful of calamari) on top of a very small portion of linguini. It was Fantastic!!! My only complaint is that it didn’t come with it’s own loaf of crusty bread to sop up all the delicious broth left in the bowl! Could have used a bit more garlic, too, but that’s just a personal preference.
