Overpriced for what we ordered. The Good: Paige, our waitress was quick, attentive and very nice. The food is tasty, though no gluten-free bread options. The Bad: The seating is very uncomfortable! I have stripes on my legs from the booth bench. The coffee was horrible, very weak. Both meals ordered came out wrong. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with cheddar cheese, grilled onion, grilled mushrooms, spinach, bacon and tomatoes. I wanted a cup of soup too, but by noon, the soup was sold out??? My sandwich wasn’t on the menu, but still, they charged me $ 10 for it. $ 10 for something I get elsewhere for $ 5 – 6! Only half the sandwich had the cheese on it, the spinach and tomato slices were missing completely; plus the measly amount of chips on the plate was shameful! My daughter ordered the Veggie Benedict without the English muffin, because, as I said, there was no gluten-free bread option. She was served a regular Eggs Benedict though. Sent it back for her proper order. Nobody offered to comp us anything for the mistakes that were made. No manager was visible either. However, Paige apologized for the wrong orders, but really, both meals should have been comped, IMO. We will probably never go again, since there are many other options in Boulder.

I’ve never had a bad meal here and I’ve eaten here too many times to count. They seem to have a fairly big overturn in servers, but it’s a college town. I usually get the sunrise relleno eggs and my boyfriend the corned beef hash or the eggs Benedict. I only wish the booths were more comfortable. The rest rooms are spotless and everyone is very friendly. They don’t have wifi, but you can usually get a signal from the adjacent Whole food.

Love this place. Get the Cambridge skillet! The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is that one of the waiters that works there almost every time we go there smells so bad that it can be unappetizing when he walks by our table and thank god he’s only been our waiter once. He’s the one with black crocs and a greasy manbun

I absolutely love the Egg & I which is why it really disappoints me to say that this location has completely ruined my favorite brunch spot. My significant other and I have been consistently coming here every weekend for the past 3 months and we have had a negative experience every single time. They are always short staffed in the kitchen making it so that they can’t sit customers despite having seating available in the dining area. And when you finally get to sit down the quality of the food is awful. My favorite dish is the Parisian Benedict and they over cook my poached eggs EVERYSINGLETIME. To the point where it’s difficult to cut into. If I wanted a hard boiled egg I would have done so myself. They cut up my sausage when I don’t request them to and charge me for the extra hollandaise sauce that I do request but don’t actually provide said sauce. They have 3 hostesses consistently making them not only short in the kitchen but in the dining area so service is slow and the people bussing tables are unfriendly and don’t smile but they are the only people you can reach to ask for something as simple as a straw for your drink. Also not to mention I’ve had a hair in my ranch potatoes before and yet I have never once made a scene for any of this and still tipped my server because I used to be one. I understand that things happen and it’s not always your fault. However my significant other and I have been more than gracious with this location and they have disappointed us every single time. I’m extremely disappointed especially because we live within walking distance of this location and were looking forward to having easy access to our favorite brunch restaurant however I will never EVER spend my hard earned cash at this location again. This place is a bloody joke to any self respecting person whom wants to have a decent experience while eating a delicious brunch because every single week this location has absolutely no idea what they’re doing. I’m willing to get in my car and drive to the next town over to have brunch because this location has completely ruined my brunch every weekend for the past 3MONTHS. Whatever you do, do not waste your time waiting for a terrible experience. Go else where because if you want a great brunch you are not going to find it here.

Egg & I is part of our regular post-run weekend breakfast rotation, and a solid one at that. Fave Things: portions that are large enough to split whole grain pancakes(amen!) plentiful seating, even for large groups, great patio plenty of parking Not So Fave Things: really bad coffee. I mean really bad. a little heavy handed with the cooking oil hit or miss service

I’ve hit almost every breakfast place in Boulder and this one rocks. Big and creative menu; there are at least a half dozen other entrees I’d like to try. My veggie benedict was quite good — bold flavor from both the asparagus and mushrooms. Grits were tasty but lumpy. My own carafe of not-so-good coffee. Have searched high and low for a good cuppa in this town, but at least this place doesn’t make you beg for it. I despise having to hunt down a server for barely passable coffee — which is the only kind I’ve encountered here(please let me know if you know where to find good coffee!). LATER — Other Unilocalers say upgraded coffee is available. Skeptical but will def try next time. The establishment is clean and orderly, service was efficient and friendly. No Wi-Fi but I piggybacked on the neighbor Whole Foods signal, at least sitting next to the window or on the patio. Although menu is not the same, this place is the spitting image of a restaurant chain in Arizona, U.S. Egg.

Bad experience, 45 mi wait for food. Mine was supposed to be an omelette, smothered in a green chile sauce. The sauce was non existant, the Waiter said it was there, just hiding. Under the cheese. ??? Didn’t have enough staff.

I have eaten at the Colorado Springs location and was always impressed. I order the same damn thing every damn time and it is damn good — the Mexican Omelette. I am a creature of habit. Stopped at the Boulder location on a Sunday around 9:30am. Plenty of seating available. The place was pretty clean in the dining area and restroom followed suit. The food saved this from being a two star review. The service was horrible. We sat for 5 minutes before anyone came to the table for our drink order — okay, I can let that slide. Our waiter took his time making his way back to us for our order and then went completely MIA for the next 25 minutes. Four other table were served their food before us and they were seated much later than we were. Three different people brought our food at three separate times and still managed to forget a side. I hope this was anomaly because I have always been happy with the service at other locations. Again, the food is always great, just bad service this time around. This won’t stop me from returning.

A good Sunday brunch was all we wanted — that is NOT what we got here. Their food wasn’t all that but their service was pathetically slow, we asked for condiments twice before we could ever get them, they messed up BOTH our orders and when it came time to pay the bill, we told them how unhappy we were with the service… their response? Oh talk to the manager next time you come and they’ll get you a discount. Is that the kind of response you want to hear? All around a waste. Stay away. Try the other brunch places in Boulder — you WILL be happier.

I have been to this restaurant multiple times and usually have received adequate food and service. On my most recent visit, service was on the slow side, particularly for a weekday. Two pots of coffee for a total of 10 people does not work out well. I ordered the Santa Fe Huevos. My meal looked nothing like the photo on Steven S.‘s review; it resembled regurgitated Huevos Rancheros and was lukewarm at best. The eggs were basically raw(supposed to be over– medium) and the portion was about one third of the size I have received previously. Server did not return to refill drinks or ask how things were, or I would have requested something else. No offer to refill water or coffee. Very disappointing for a restaurant that was usually nothing special. They can’t afford food and service that was less than good in Boulder. I will think twice before I return.

The patio is great — huge shade tree that keeps it nice and cool. Food is great, standard Egg and I menu that doesn’t disappoint.

Matt Wilson handled us ever so nicely by expediting the dark roast coffee upon our arrival. The frittata was yummy with the melted Havarti on top!

My first time finally checking out an Egg & I Restaurant, and it is worthy of a return visit. Checked into this one in Boulder, CO, and met by an extremely friendly staff. Ordered the Santa Fe Huevos(see photo), based on the fact that I live right off Santa Fe Road. Which makes no sense and is devoid of any logic whatsoever, but I made the connection anyway and it stuck. So I ordered it. Huevos were quite good. Came in about 1:00 pm on a Friday and almost had the place to myself. Pay at the cash register on way out. Simple and fast for a sit down place. A step above a Denny’s, close to an IHOP but emphasis on those eggs!

Needed a quick and nutritious breakfast and followed Unilocal lead to the Egg & I… Was seated immediately and the server was here a moment later, answering all my questions with ease. At his recommendation I went with the Vera Cruz Omelette… Yummy :)) While not gourmet, the food was well prepared, delivered quickly and quite tasty. The service… was spot on — there when needed and not there when not. I’ll be back!

We just had lunch here today. I have to say I’m underwhelmed. There were very few other diners but there was a definite wait time — as in, enough time to sip two cups of coffee. I like my coffee and entrees to be nice and temperature hot, this place had some issues with serving food beyond warm. Not good for me! I tried the Santa Fe Huevos — black beans on tortilla topped with egg, green or red chile and cheese along with some hash browns. I’m thinking Santa Fe would be offended for the lack of flavors. A better option for lunch would have been an entrée that didn’t require heat such as a salad. $ 2.79 for a coffee? seriously. My other lunch partners seemed okay with their entrees, one had a pancake and the other had a breakfast dish. The our server was nice and friendly but we saw her only once to check on us, not that we needed her. I don’t think i’ll be rushing back for a repeat anytime soon.

We were here for brunch this weekend, and what a great place! They have a great food selection, even for vegetarians. Several menu items have clever titles. The service is quite good as well.

I want to say that I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. This is really too bad because I had a much better experience at the location in Estes Park Colorado. When I came to the restaurant, I was seated at a table that was much too large for my own single self. They were clearly busy, and the table in front of me did not receive their food until after some other tables in the area. They talk to the manager, and one of the meals was compensated for them. In my situation, I saw that there was advertisement for free wireless Internet. However, not only was it not available, it was not able to be reached from the laundry store across the street which they said I could use. In addition, it took over 10 minutes just to receive a lemon for my water. The food was generally good, but when I ask for no mushrooms in the omelette there were mushrooms in the scrambled eggs that were also brought, but I probably should’ve noticed this. It took quite a long time to get my check, even though the server had mentioned that I might want a box to go. I said and waited over 10 minutes by myself with no interaction from the server. When I went to pay I had a student coupon for half off of one of the entrées. I don’t know what happened, but they took the entire second entrée off the bill. They also excepted my expired coupon although they may not have noticed. Overall, a pretty bad experience, and I think that I will not be going back. I am not saying that no one should go there, but I just did not have a good experience.

One of our favorite places for breakfast in Boulder. We’ve always had a great meal here, the service is good, not much of a wait, at least during the week. My daughter gets one of their«skillet» breakfasts and they’re always good. Son loves their pancakes. Love the big windows and natural light too!

We loved this place the one time we went for breakfast. They have a large menu and friendly servers. Food came out fast and the coffee and water were kept refilled. Great kids menu and the adult items aren’t too huge(you don’t want to start the day with a huge gut bomb, do you?). I’m going back next time I’m in Boulder.

We had a coupon that got us a free entrée with the purchase of another entrée. Good thing; I would have been a little ticked had I paid full price. I can sum up the Egg and I’s overall food vibe in one word: Inoffensive. Okay, full disclosure, I used to live around the corner from here when I was a college sophomore, and would stumble over pretty much every Sunday for brunch. I raved over the benedicts and would scarf them like they were going to be my last meal for days. Maybe the food was better then… and maybe when I was a sophomore I smoked my face(and tastebuds) off on weed and I thought ALL food(if it was salty enough) was the best food ever. I’m guessing it’s the latter. This visit I had what was basically deconstructed Cordon Bleu over potatoes with eggs. It came hot, steaming, and bland to the table. Dan’s Santa Fe Huevos was not in the least bit spicy(nonspicy green chile? Blasphemous!) and had rotten guacamole on top, which was luckily still sitting in a little easily-removed scoop. Both of our meals were finished, but with nary a compliment paid to the taste. Dan and I are totally that obnoxious couple who analyzes/complains about/exclaims excitedly over food as we eat it, and this just… well, we had nothing to say. It was food, it filled us up, we would not be craving it again. The one thing that we did have something to say about was their ‘smoothie’ menu. I don’t know about you, but when I think smoothies I think, blended fruit, maybe some frozen yogurt or something. When the Egg and I thinks smoothies they apparently think 7-up, vanilla crème, Coke, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, mango syrup, and maraschino cherries, because that’s the ingredient list that made up most of their menu of ‘smoothie’ options. Dan got this monstrosity of orange juice, 7-up, vanilla crème, and mango syrup, and it was essentially like a Jolly Rancher vomiting into my mouth. I don’t recommend it.
