Was returning through Boulder after a ski day in Eldora, and was starving at 5pm. They opened their doors maybe 5 minutes early to let us in, and being first through the buffet was amazing. Food was so good and hot, very good flavor. Amazing selection, great sauces. Naan was thicker than I’m used to. Nice owner/hostess staff, very family feel to the ownership. Very reasonably dinner buffet price. Can’t wait to have an excuse to come by this restaurant again.

Several times I have taken my lunch the Taj buffet. I have even sat for my dinner at this establishment. For both meals, the restaurant serves consistent, tasty food with decent service. There are nice desserts such as the curry made with sweet potato. In fact, each of the dishes that are on offer are quite nice. Recommended.

Indeed a very excellent Indian restaurant. All the 5 star reviews are right. Go for lunch and you will be nailed down by too much good food for $ 10 here. I can say the foods are better than many Indian places in California where I spent the last 8 years.

I have come here many times for their lunch buffet. About $ 10, great selection, consistent quality and very kind and friendly staff. I’d go as far as saying this is my favorite Indian lunch buffet in this area, and I am no stranger to Indian lunch buffets.

My new lunchtime favorite when visiting my son at school. It’s an all-you-can-eat//impossible-to-dissapoint buffet. If I lived close-by I’d be in big trouble. Once I visit Taj for lunch I know I’m pretty much out for the count for the rest of the day because I’m so full, but it’s totally worth it :)

The best Indian Buffet in Boulder. I love the variety, quality, and freshness. They keep the food rotating and refreshed making it feel like you just freshly ordered it. The staff was friendly and efficient.

I LOVE this place … the food is spectacular. With all the Indian/Nepalese options in Boulder County, I think The Taj stands out as the best. Some highlights: lamb korma, chicken curry, saag paneer, garlic naan, date naan, samosas, mango custard, chai. Oh, and the CARROTPUDDING. My my my. I never knew this was even a thing and now it’s a craving. The view is spectacular … one of the best restaurant views in Boulder, making it a great place to take someone from out of town. Everyone working there is very friendly, and the owners, Kamala and Vim, are especially wonderful. They make you feel like you’re a friend having dinner in their home. I can’t recommend this place enough. Would eat there every week if it were closer.

The Taj is easily my favorite restaurant in Boulder! This is a place where you’ll be greeted with smiles and treated like one of the family. The staff here are fantastic and very friendly. The food is always fresh and hot, and delicious! My favorite thing from the Taj is without a doubt the chai, though. It’s the perfect blend, and the owners own secret recipe. Definitely a must have. When in Boulder, stop by! You certainly won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic food and great service. I always enjoy coming to the Taj for their lunch buffet. They have a great variety of curries and dishes. The fried vegetables are always great and I think that their Saag Paneer is one of the better ones I have had. My personal favorite dish from the buffet is he fried bananas! Must try!

The Taj is a great example of an authentic Indian restaurant that still offers the awesome variety and convenience of a buffet. The owners of the restaurant, Vim and Kamala, are wonderful and kind people who truly care about providing quality food in the style of their home country and surrounding areas. I’ve made quite a few trips, as a Longmont resident, out of my way to include a meal here. Hands down, some of the best in Boulder! Spinach sag, tandoori chicken, lamb curry, chicken curry, vegetable korma, malai kofta, mango custard, and of course. Chai :) Do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll not be disappointed.

I loved this restaurant and ate here all the time. But the last 3 orders of the chicken makhani were not as good. It tasted more oily and less flavorful. I have since tried other Indian spots and found royal clay. I will try Taj again at some point because they were by far my favorite in boulder for several years. There chicken soup is really good.

Best Indian buffet in Boulder. Maybe not perfect, but if you like Indian buffet the value and quality is hard to beat.

Love going here for their incredible buffet. Tons of options for gluten, meat and dairy free. Best part might be the dairy free saag! When I have a craving for this place I must get it. My favorite Indian food in Boulder!

I’ve been to the Taj many a time in my day. It was a staple when I was in college at CU Boulder. Best indian buffet in town.(This review will only focus on my most recent experience). Needless to say though — I’m a big fan of this place, generally. We arrived yesterday just after 3pm and the host was quick to let us know that usually their buffet closes at 2:30p but there was still plenty of food so we could check it out and see if the buffet was the way we wanted to go. He said he would keep it open until 3:30p for us. NICE! They had all of my favorites: I’m not sure what they’re called but I LOVE the Taj’s fried potato triangles, their honey chicken is amazing, chicken tikka masala — YUM — spicy chili chicken, chicken tandoori, their saag is amazing, their fresh steamed veggies are always very good… they only thing they were out of was naan. WHAT?! Not to worry — they made some fresh naan for us and brought it straight over to our table. I mean. SERVICE! I prefer to go when everything is a bit more fresh than it was yesterday… but that’s not their fault. It was nice that he offered to keep the buffet open longer for us AND he delivered fresh naan. Taj — I like you a lot. Keep on doing what you’re doing. Because YUM.

I still have a lot to learn about Indian food, so I feel like I’m not really a great judge of good or bad. In fact, you should probably stop reading this. I’ll continue with my middle of the road thoughts, anyways. Really, I thought it was middle of the road. Not freaking out and running back tomorrow, but not bad food either. Though, while I’m still learning my way around the food, the lunch buffet helps, and they have that! So there’s that!

I’ve been watching this restaurant slide to the bottom for a few years now. The Taj used to have delicious food and decent service. Now this restaurant has neither of those two basic aspects. As we surveyed the buffet and put some food on our plates, I noticed a few of the burners, which keep the food warm, were off. I also asked the server to bring us naan, as they were temporarily out. We sat down to a not-even-luke-warm meal and, 10 minutes later, no naan. I asked the server why he didn’t bring us naan yet and he flippantly shrugged his shoulders. About the only thing worth enjoying for our $ 30 was the mango lassi. I don’t recommend their buffet any longer, as it’s bland, uninspired, and not served warm/hot. There are plenty of much better Indian restaurants in Boulder.

Can you say dinner buffet?! While I have never actually looked at a menu here, I can definitely vouch for their buffet. Their selection is larger than some of the other Indian buffets I’ve been to in Boulder. I’ve tried just about every dish they serve in the buffet and I’ve never been disappointed with any of them. They also have Naan which, strangely, some Indian buffets lack. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a shopping center, which gives you some nice views of the foothills. I like the way this location is laid out; it’s easy to maneuver with a hot plate of Indian food. If you’re looking for Indian, I would recommend this location.

This is hard review to write. Very awkward dining experience, but our meal ended up comped which we appreciated and felt was appropriate. The food on the lunch buffet was very tasty and they had a nice selection for a vegan. The server we had was rather rude. We were sat at the end of their lunch at 2:30 for the buffet and he tried to rush us through our lunch. We would have preferred to know the lunch was ending and we would have gone somewhere else, but instead he sat us and we felt rushed the entire time. When we informed the manager, she yelled across the restaurant chiding the server for his treatment which made us feel even more uncomfortable. So, tasty food, but the place is lacking customer service and profesionality.

This place USED to have delicious food all around. That was at least a year ago. Went back today for lunch at their buffet. The prices have gone up but the quality of their offerings went south. The chai was barely warm. The salad bar was sparse. The staff were friendly.
