My friend and I have been breakfasting at Le Peep nearly every Saturday and Sunday for about two years. I would estimate about 150 breakfasts. Service is consistently good. Most wait staff have been there for over a year. They are pleasant, attentive and helpful. The food has been consistently very good. Yes, occasionally the breakfast potatoes might be a little«not too hot» but overall, Le Peep is much more consistent in food quality than most restaurants. The noise level is reasonable. I have poor hearing and it is important that I can hear my eating partners. There is NO, I repeat NO loud banging music being constantly played. A few times the volume of music has been a little high but a simple«please, would you…» and it is reduced to a reasonable level. Great that coffee is delivered in a large thermos and refills are quickly delivered. Give it a try. Like other reviewers, I have a hard time imagining some of the negative reviews that appear in the column. Neither I nor any of my companions have ever expressed same.

I tried very hard to be a Le Peep fan because it is so close to my house, but it’s just bad. My food has been cold multiple times and when busy they staff can seem like you are ruffling them unnecessarily. On good days, they do have delicious waffles.

This review is actually 4.5 stars but with all the negative reviews on here the average has to go up! I, like many others, found this place when the wait for The Buff was 2 hours. I go to Le Peep without even thinking about The Buff now. The food has always been outstanding, you never have to wait, and there are far less hungover college youths. The skillets are on par or better than every other skillet I have had elsewhere. Service has always been great. No wait means you are eating sooner and leaving happy. The atmosphere is a little bit dated but what’s wrong with that? Everything looks clean. Sometimes vintage is a good thing. Plus with the clear carafes you can actually see your water. Too many times I have found floaters and foreign objects in pitchers that are made of metal. Le Peep… you are a great breakfast establishment. Thank you.

Great service, excellent bloody Mary(and cheap!), amazing breakfast burrito, best French toast my wife ever had. This place is a local gem.

Food is great as long as it’s not a busy day, aka a college football game day. Usually no wait to be seated, and the food is served very fast. Although the Bloody Marry is made with V8 juice, and is not good. Definitely go with the mimosa!

I had a great experience at Le Peep today. I have celiac disease and can not eat anything with gluten in it or that has touched it. Le Peep has a separate gluten free menu, but that does not always mean that a restaurant cooks and preps the food without gluten contamination. I let the manager, Gary and my server, Anna W. know and they took great care of me. I was served a delicious skillet that was prepared in it’s own pan away from the grill. They also serve delicious cupcakes from a local gluten free bakery, LZ’s Homemade, that are out of this world!

Fairly standard breakfast fare, but with quite a large menu. I ended up going with the Greek Goddess omelet, which consisted of artichokes, tomatoes, spinach, and feta. Such a tasty combination! I also appreciated that they loaded up the omelet with lots of veggies. The service was friendly and we were regularly checked on. I’m not sure what type of bread they use, but the side of whole wheat toast was particularly good. Better texture than the normal bland bread you typically get. I noticed the manager was there overseeing things and inquiring how everyone’s meal was, which is always a nice touch.

And this is what I get for letting my cheap independent sales rep pick our lunch spot. While traveling through CO with my sales rep, he suggested lunch with a dealer and took us to Le Peep. The name«La Peep» sounded sort of familiar and I recalled a restaurant in Milwaukee by the same name. The Milwaukee La Peep was not regarded highly and unfortunately this La Peep also strives to hit new lows. The place is old. It has the feel of a forgotten Bob Evan’s. We sat down and were given water in a hazy carafe with some glasses that looked like they were from the back of your grandmother’s cabinet. I ordered the chicken & avocado sandwich. When it arrived, I could tell the thing had been grilled in the cheapest margarine possible. I took two bites and immediately gagged. The margarine had a very chemical taste that overpowered any hint of chicken. The avocado was mushy and brown. I put the sandwich down and thought«Well at least I have experienced an all time low in food. Thanks, La Peep!». I picked at the potato chips and sipped my Pepsi while others finished their lunch. This place is not good. Go anywhere else but here.

Great food consistently served by friendly caring wait staff. Been a customer for the past 12 years and would rate this particular le peep far above all the others and one of the best places for breakfast anywhere! I highly recommend!

Overpriced for what it is. If you sit at the bar don’t expect anything beyond what they HAVETO do. They are the same two people every time I have been and make your presence seem like an inconvenience. Even when I sat at a table and my mimosa was delivered to the table, I asked for water and she literally threw her arms to her side, rolled her eyes and asked someone else to do it. Manager seems totally unaware. I have also been to a different location and they have the exact same menu but cheaper prices.

To prep for our Mount Sanitas hike, we decided we needed to load up on a hearty breakfast. I initially steered us towards The Buff, but we immediately noticed it was packed, and instead opted for nearby Le Peep. Le Peep was exactly as the Unilocal 3-star says: A-Ok. I got the Aspen Crêpe, and it was decent, just a little overloaded with vanilla ricotta/cream cheese. I ended up removing most of it, which helped. Our server was great and handled our group of 6 well. Our meals arrived quickly, and we headed to the mountain in no time.

I hate to say it… but like many others, we only go to Le Peep when the wait at The Buff is just too long to bear. So for that reason, I give Le Peep a couple stars for expertly nailing their Boulder location. Ahaha. Perhaps it’s unfair to review Le Peep given my full disclosure, as everything I have eaten there has a looming air of what could have been if I had only been willing to wait my turn at The Buff. But alas, I shall review anyway. Reader beware. I have never had a bad experience there. But at the same time, I have never had a memorable experience there. The staff is always able to seat us quickly. The food comes out pretty quick. But man… the food is not the stuff that dreams are made of. It does the job as far as filling a deep desire for hot breakfast foods, but so could a Best Western free breakfast. [I realize how mean that must sound… but I have no remorse!] I recently got the Roma — scrambled eggs with cream cheese, tomatoes, spinach and artichoke hearts. In the end, it was really just cream cheese with scrambled eggs and a dash of promised vegetables. It tasted fine — the hard work of weekend sleep left me famished enough to eat the whole plate — but I didn’t walk away proud. And I can’t help it… I feel like everything is just a little unclean. The tables never really feel clean when I’m seated — certainly they’ve been wiped, but I sense a lingering stickiness. I will continue to frequent Le Peep out of necessity, but in my heart of hearts, I will always know that I could do better.

Great place for breakfast!!! Everything was fresh & cooked to perfection. A good selection of menu options to choose from. We went mid-week so there wasn’t a wait to be seated.

Le Peep is a consistently good breakfast option in Boulder. Seating is ample, wait times are short, menu selection is wide, and the food and coffee are standardly yummy. The service leaves a bit to be desired since they’re typically slammed, but you can pay up front to avoid getting trapped. Perfect for a quick breakfast.

I don’t understand all of the Boulder hate for Le Peep. I meet people here for breakfast often because there is always seating, the food is wonderful, the staff is always friendly, the coffee is delicious and bottomless, orange juice is fresh-squeezed and it’s the only QUIET breakfast joint in Boulder. They have a huge range of gluten free items if your diet requires, great vegetarian choices and everything else is delicious! Just as good as Lucielle’s, but here you get elbow room and you’re not constantly bumped into, it’s cheaper and you can actually have a conversation with your party! Boulder folk just hate on chains without trying them. Give Le Peep a chance.

This place is just… gross. I ordered a salad. I know, this was my first dumb move. I am old enough to know that ordering a salad at a breakfast joint is a bad idea. I dont know what I was thinking. When the salad came, the«grilled chicken» was fried, but without breading. The salad bowl had a half a cup of water in the bottom. I don’t know about you, but I don’t find lettuce and blue cheese swimming in water appetizing. On the way out, we were asked by the host(manager?) how everything was. We told him it was«just ok». If someone told me something was just ok, I’d want to know what was not great, or what I could have done to make it better. He never skipped a beat… never blinked an eye… and replied, «Oh, good!» Hmmmm… last time I checked ‘just ok’ wasn’t a celebration. Le Peep is, well, pretty horrible.

I stopped in for lunch with some friends while staying at the nearby Marriott. The atmosphere and food was good but nothing extraordinary. The service was excellent. I’d go back for convenience but not otherwise.

I went to Le Peep with my brother and his girlfriend. We were looking for homestyle breakfast/comfort food. What we got was far from it. All of our orders were wrong. The omelette didn’t have mushrooms, but my brother said that it was probably for the best as his mushrooms tasted like they were purchased in 2008. The vegetarian skillet had a stray piece of ham(the best part of the dish). The cheese was hard and crusty and the eggs were overhard when they were supposed to be poached. I asked for real maple syrup and received Aunt Jemima’s. Our server was friendly, but the food left much to be desired.

Terrible service and mediocre food. Our waitress was so bland, had no personality and terrible service skills. We were sat right by the bathroom and refused to consider giving us a gooey bun(that’s the deal if you sit at table 14 due to the vicinity of bathroom to the table). My friend had to ask twice for a Bloody Mary. I had to wait until everyone was almost finished to get mustard for my burger. The«salad» that accompanied my burger was romaine lettuce with carrot sticks on it and I also had to wait for the waitress to bring the dressing separately. Waited so long for the check even when the plates and cups were empty. The only reason I didn’t give this place one star is because they were able to accommodate a table of 7 right away and the coffee was decent/unlimited.
