Bothell Feed Center

There’s a pretty big range of feed and you can get pretty big bags of feed here too. There’s a lot of specialty food, such as for ferrets, chickens or goats, as well as a pretty good range for cats and dogs.
There’s plenty of parking in the lot outside, which you’ll need if you get a big order. Service was okay when I went; it wasn’t anything to write home about but they were nice enough.
Protip: stay near the door if you need to get someone to bring your order out, like if you order a 40lb bag of feed or something, or else they won’t call you.

The employees are not only very friendly but know their stuff. The feed, hay and grasses that we’ve purchased here have been of excellent quality. Their prices are fair too.

This is the place to go for me. I have cats, a rescue three-​legged dog and a lot of chinchillas that I raise and show. Bothell Feed always lets me pick out my bale of hay. This hay is going to little animals and I want to make sure I can find the best. Everyone is so pleasant. Buddy, the certified therapy chinchilla in the picture has been fed by Bothell Feed for about a thousand years. Well, actually he’s only 18, so I may have exaggerated. My rescue dog is a very picky dog. I get samples until I find out what she will eat. After a bag, she gets tired of it and we have to start out all over again. Oh, I have to go, I need to pick up so hay.

I’ve been coming here regularly for the last year to buy scratch for wild ducks that frequent the pond next to our house. The feed store is small in relation to the two big co-​ops in Snohomish and Monroe, so the selection isn’t as great. I spent some time there last week to seek more information about a gosling I will be getting in two weeks. It will be an indoor pet. The helper was very skeptical this is going to work out well for me, but she was able to answer some of my questions. They don’t have waterfowl feed, but they do sell other kinds of feed that are supposed to be adequate for geese too. I don’t know how knowledgeable they are since I lack feedstore knowledge myself, but the staff has always been polite and friendly. I agree with the other poster who said you need to speak up if you need something. If you’re a shrinking violet, your needs will likely not be addressed on a busy day.

I LOVE these guys! So helpful and always willing to give free samples to our pups. Plus, Heidi is the best!

This has been under new ownership for awhile. New owner is awesome and the entire rest of the staff is as well.
We gladly spend money here and enjoy our friendly conversations with the ladies at the registers.
Now if they only carried duck diapers…

Suzy gets cracked corn here for the baby ducks in our pond every year. When we moved here three years ago, all ten babies died. So every year after she has fed them and we have yet to lose one, knock on wood. This year we had two broods!
These people are personable, smart, and help us with our animal questions. We also love how they dress up their horse statue throughout the year, it’s hilarious. I find myself pointing out the horse to my kids and grandkids every time they visit. It’s become a Thrasher’s Corner icon.

Great little store with a wonderful selection for your pets!

I come here to get my straw for archery targets. The staff has always been friendly from the people behind the counter to the nice young men who load my bales. I do not understand where the bad comments on the CS are coming from because I have ever seen it. As a matter of fact I have called and pleased with the to give me a bit longer to get there because I was stuck in traffic and they store was open 5 minuets after closing to handle my needs.

I love this store. The people are great and my animals are happy, what more can you ask for?

I started going here because I liked the fact that it’s a small town company and it reminded me of going to the feed stores when I was a kid in Whatcom County, raising chickens, ducks, and pigs.
I continue to go here for several reasons, including the one just mentioned.
A) They carry high quality brands of dog food, and have a nice selection of each.
B) They have organic dog treats and a great selection of mix and match bulk treats and bones.
C) They are always friendly, and although I’ve never taken them up on it, it is nice that they ask me if they can help me lug my 30lb pound bag of dog food to the car.
D) It’s fun to see the baby chicks in their coops.
E) It’s conveniently located on my way home.
Yes, I pay almost $ 10 more a bag here than I do at PetSmart, but the convenience and the saved gas is worth it, and I feel better giving my money to these guys instead of huge corporations anyhow. Now, if I could only get them to accept American Express…

Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking… so many bad reviews on here for customer service. Not cool everyone! I have been coming here regularly for 2+ years and for the most part have been treated very well, and even gotten to know a few of the staff.
If you are sensitive to customer service issues — i.e. You are afraid to tell a waitress she’s not doing something to your liking, then stiff her on her tip or wait for people to aggressively help you when you shop and are disappointed when they don’t — then do yourself a favor and be just a little proactive. The staff here is busy and most of their customers don’t need white-​glove hand-​holding, but if you really need solid advice and other higher levels of service — all you have to do is ask.
As for pricing, their prices on things are ok — not spectacular. You can probably find equal or better pricing on Amazon Prime — but probably not the selection of quality stuff they have. Overall, I wouldn’t worry so much about price because if they are higher than Petco then it won’t be much higher.
Don’t forget to say hi to Lucy — the store cat. She’ll hook you up with lots of love and probably try to kitty-​wash you or ride on your back around the store.

Always friendly helpful service and they have a wide range of products. It is getting harder these days for find horse products.

Ok we have been buying dog, cat, rat and bird food from Bothell Feed Center for at least 1 yr… we feed or dogs 30lb which is $ 50+ and cat grain free for 15lbs is $ 30+ so today when they did there buy 1 get ½ off holiday promotion I was very disappointed when we bought 3 bags of cat food 3 bags of dog food and LOTS of parrot food totaling over $ 300.00… Instead of advising us that the 3^rd bag of pet food was full price… and we needed to buy the 4^th bag to get a second discount… they sent us on our way… BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE an a bit sneaky if you ask me. After reviewing my receipt I did go back and after standing in line for 30 minutes got or 4^th bag of cat and dog food for ½ off but not without SNOTTY attitude from the cashier.
It makes we question the integrity of this store… and maybe I will be sending my $ 400 elsewhere!

This is primarily a pet food store. Friendly staff but the location is awful. This store is located in the Thrashers Corner shopping center are. The problem is that the parking lot is small and narrow due to the pub next door. Avoid this shopping mall if you can.

Good selection of animal food. We have a cat that will only eat one type of food and they carry it. Stop in and check it out. Support local business!!!
Watch out if you have allergies! Lots of interesting smells in this place. :-)

I raise backyard chickens and I live in Seattle. Have fun getting the supplies you need here in town. It really is worth the drive to Thrasher’s corner to the Bothell Feed Center. I always have been treated so well by the staff girls. I read some other people said they weren’t. Maybe you didn’t say what you wanted out loud and just waited to be approached (typical Seattle males)? They not only always walk me over to what I need but today one gal even helped me load my car.
Now about Connie. I believe she may be the manager. She seems in charge. She is an excellent resource if you raise chickens. I spent the better part of a year trying to resolve horrible scaly mites in my 6 hens with negative results. Then I asked Connie. She listened to my problem 4 months ago and convinced me to try scarlett oil (instead of vaseline) and boy was she right. All my birds are scaly mite free! It works amazingly!!! I tell everyone. Today I had to tell her how thankful I was. Again she made more recommendations for my chicken flock… a dewormer, anti-​biotic (for a respitory problem I’m dealing with), and some other other things. I seriously trust Connie.
BTW… People who say their prices are expensive need to take a little drive over to Sky Nursery’s chicken section for a rude awakening. WOW.

We bought our first chicks in April 2011 (five chicks). The girl who helped us was super friendly and informative. She didn’t try to get us to buy a bunch of stuff we didn’t need and got us started with the basics.
Each time we need chicken feed I trek up to Bothell to this feed center because they are helpful, the prices are reasonable and they are quick to load those heavy 40-​pound bags into my car!
We are going to get three more chicks and I am confident that the staff will teach me how to raise the new chicks and get the older chickens to be nice!

I would give this place no starts, but it’s not an option. This feed store is WAY overpriced, several of their staff are unfriendly and heaven forbid you go in there within a half hour of them closing because they make it very clear that they want you to get out. They hardly look up from the counter when you walk up and I had one of them tell me Purina Ultium was crap and that she would never feed her horses that after I had told her that it’s what I feed. RUDE! This place needs re-​staffing!

Gone here in the past for either cat or bunny food as well as straw for ponies. I came here recently and realized how good their store is compared to other pet shops. Well it’s not really a pet store, but everything else that you wish for for your pet can be found there.
I think in the warmer months you can find a new litter of kittens or whatever had spring babies.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.
