When we want naught Chinese food yumee is our favorite. They’re so quick and the food is good and the chicken actually has white meat in it! Our favorite in the area! They’re also very cheap.

Your basic hole-in-the-wall chinese spot except it’s not so basic. Food is delicious and the portions are gigantic. Definitely recommend it and would eat here again. Service was fast and staff was friendly.

Delicious food, love the house special friend rice and chicken wings, fast delivery, love this place although i wouldn’t recommend eating inside-very small and not eat-in friendly.

It’s basically your typical neighborhood Chinese food takeout place. The food is alright, good crab Rangoon and veggie lo mein. Pork fried rice had a decent amount of pork(for those of you that are into that kind of thing), and the egg rolls were on point. Unfortunately the hot and sour soup was not at all spicy and had a pretty slimy consistency, I couldn’t even eat it. On the plus side, the food is quick and cheap so when you just need a quick Chinese fix, this place will do just fine.

Terrible Food. Terrible Service. Took an hour and a half to get to the apartment. We live 2 blocks away Food arrived cold. Eggroll was wet with grease/soggy. You get what you pay for.

If I could give this place a 0 I would, this place is absolutely disgusting. The shrimp and lobster sauce is subpar and tasteless and the shrimp is imitation shrimp! Barf

So I didn’t walk in here expecting any food revelations. It looks dingy outside and inside but their prices weren’t bad and they had plenty of options to choose from. I went with egg rolls and chicken Lo mein. Since I was staying at a temporary place for a few days and couldn’t cook, I ordered a large Lo mein. It was so big it actually lasted me three meals — dinner that night, and lunch and dinner the next day. The egg rolls were kinda weird. I could t quite tell what they were stuffed with. The sweet and sour sauce it came with was gross and I didn’t touch it after the first taste. Nothing special about the meal overall; pretty generally greasy Chinese food, generous portions and no frills. I wouldn’t eat in here; only pick up or delivery.

I don’t care what all y’all say about this place. I have really liked most things I’ve ordered. Maybe I just ordered the right stuff? Also, if you do take-out, the food doesn’t sog up like it normally does if you do delivery. Just a suggestion.(It really isn’t that far away from where you live, I’m guessing. Take the 5−10mins and just walk over.) — Large Ma Po Tofu, no MSG please. Has ground pork, big chunks of tofu, and vegetables in a somewhat spicy brown sauce. It really is my favorite thing here. I order it with a side of rice($ 2 for a full takeout container of white rice!), and can make, no joke, 4 additional meals from a single order. — Egg rolls are standard. — Bf likes the Chinese boneless spare ribs. — Shrimp with lobster sauce is standard. — Any of the lo mein is standard. — I find the fried rice to be subpar. Way too much soy sauce/salt and not enough flavor. — Not a fan of the Singapore Style Mai Fun. Way too salty as well. — I prefer New China’s crab rangoons(best in Boston, IMO) (Also, keep in mind that this is Americanized Chinese take-out food — not meant to be some gourmet experience.)

I ordered from here because i thought the name was cute but i didn’t think to check Unilocal first. Oh boy was i sorry. The food was soggy even though it should have been crispy and i felt ickie after eating just a little bit of it. With so many other fantastic choices in the area, do not go to this one.

Food is pretty awful here. Probly the worst Chinese takeout I’ve had in NY and boston. They are def much nicer than the ppl at new china but honestly I don’t really care abt service when it comes to fast food. Tried their chicken & beef stir fry dishes like chicken n broc/string beans, black bean sauce and its pretty gross. Rice is mushy. Go to new china for takeout that actually tastes good.

It’s an American-style Chinese take out joint. It’s been here for over 20 years, so have I, I haven’t died yet. The guys who work there are nice. This will be around the 23rd review, so its not a people pleaser. Eat there? NOPE, he’s why; Years ago I went to pick up an order, behind me comes a local crazy guy who threatens to bust up the joint if he doesn’t get some free food. I’m standing there looking at the guy working the counter, kinda hoping he’d figure out I WANTEDINTO THEKITCHEN, and away from the unhappy, maybe violent, guy. He didn’t figure that out, in fact he brought my food, the angry guy grabbed it, swore at the worker, and off he went! The worker looks at me and says«Twelve dollars please». It took some explanation of social cues, needless to say he made it right, I got my new order and off i went. It’s edible, not incredible. Mall food court quality, yep.

At my office, we have something called Dirty Friday. All week my coworkers and I pack our lunches, trying to eat healthy, but on Fridays we let it all hang out. We order something greasy and terrible for you. This is where Yummee comes in. I think most Chinese delivery places in the city have a lot in common. Similar delivery time and service, similar prices, similar portion size. At Yummee you may get more for the money, but not the same quality as other places. To be fair, we are talking about mall food court level Chinese food at best, but Yummee is outranked by other local eateries for sure. The food just seems… old. Like it has been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. I don’t love it, and I will argue with my coworkers to order from House of Siam or Teriyaki House instead. But if I lose, and they are going here anyway, I will probably put in an order too. It is Dirty Friday after all.

Here I am thinking«it’s garden-level,» let’s hope it’s good. Not. I should have realized this was not a good place with how little traffic it was getting. Got the beef and broccoli — very chewy. That steamed rice was more like boiled rice, and the brown sauce was aiite, but not worth it. This place is about as good as Charlie Chan’s and that disgusting baby food place on Hyde Park Av near Dogwood’s. Disgusting. They were friendly though.

No yummee! Clean place with friendly guy but that doesn’t always make for good food. Very below average food… mall Chinese might actually be better. Honestly I was scared to eat the beef because it had a weird sour taste. I tried the chicken lomein, szechuan beef, beef & broccoli, egg rolls, & fried Rangoon which were all pretty non impressive. I wouldn’t go back. Nofomee Chinese Restaurant is a better name.

Must one really settle for this place because this is basically the only Chinese restaurants in the South End? Unfortunately this is why I’ve been here twice. First time I just tried a dish and thought it was decent. Second time was different. No, I didn’t get sick. No, I didn’t think it was nasty. But it wasn’t good. The food was very bland. The Hot and Sour soup bland and a color I have not seen before. The rice was bland, the peking dumplings were bland. Heard of salt? It’s not that expensive. If they spent a little more money on seasonings they could have a DECENT3 star Chinese restaurant. Until the day comes that South End gets another DESPERATELY needed Chinese restaurant, this will unfortunately have to do. But I won’t like it.

I love how people who don’t know Chinese food think they are experts on the topic. Also, the pidgin English? Offensive and not nearly as witty as you think. Here’s the deal on Yummee and its ilk: they are Chinese-American restaurants and are no more Chinese than Dominoes pizza is Italian. If you accept that Chinese-American food is its own food category, then you’ll understand that Yummee does fine as a place to get fast, greasy, deep-fried, and stir-fried, Chinese-in-name-only food to soak up that bender. I only get take-out as the place reeks of fryer oil and is lit with fluorescents. Anyway, the guys at Yummee are nice and their delivery guys are quick. Another Nor’easter dump a foot of snow on the ground and don’t feel like cooking? Yummee is a convenient choice for the South End. Its food, for the most part, is exactly what you expect to get at any Chinese-American joint. There is one menu item of note: Yummee’s spicy wings. Don’t confuse it with the regular fried chicken wings. The spicy wings are fried w/almost no batter or breading and then tossed in an addictive concoction of ginger, five spice, chili, salt, pepper, MSG, and I’m sure other spices I haven’t identified. They’re worth a special trip. Stay tuned for my upcoming reviews of authentic Chinese restaurants. In the meantime, have a hankering for pork fried rice, crab Rangoons, or hot and sour soup? Yummee is easy. Want a delicious fried treat? Get the spicy wings. Oh, and cut it out with the pidgin English. It’s dumb. Also, tip your delivery guys well. You’re paying them to make the trip that your lazy ass couldn’t be bothered to make.

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the General Gao’s Chicken, and it had some weird spice on it that made it inedible. And I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. Just something to satisfy my cheap Chinese craving. I won’t be returning. Quite a letdown, I wish I could find some good Chinese in the South End!
