Great place and great food IF they are open. I’ve been by countless times DURING business hours posted and they are closed up. This place has potential if someone wants to work the joint. I’m leaving this message at noon during season on a Friday.

My husband and I went here while visiting from NY. We’d heard very good things about the Miami location, but this one was closer to our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. The décor was a bit wacky, but we liked it. They give you paper plates and silverware rolled up in a napkin when they seat you — not super fancy(not that there’s anything wrong with that). We were the only people in the restaurant, so it was very quiet and we had very attentive waitstaff! We got the chicken fingers and grilled salami appetizers. The chicken was delicious — moist but still crispy on the outside. We really liked the addition of sesame seeds to the breading! The grilled salami was fantastic; there was WAY too much slaw for one person to eat accompanying it though(and we only got the small portion). We wanted to get shakes, but they were out of every flavor on the menu. Oh well. My husband got the Caribbean dog without pineapple and loved it — great flavor combination! I ordered the Reuben dog and honestly regretted it. The hot dog was decent enough but the parve soy cheese just weirded me out. It melted all over the other toppings, so those were basically ruined also. We got the s’mores dessert, also. The chocolate and graham cracker crumb combo was delish(how can you mess that up?), but the marshmallows were the colorful, «flavored» jumbo marshmallows like they sell in the supermarket. They weren’t toasted or melted at all. We both agreed that marshmallow fluff would’ve been much better than room-temp strawberry marshmallows. If we lived closer, we’d come back — now that we know what to order and what to skip.

A dog & a beer sounded good on a Sunday afternoon. Wrong. Upon being seated I asked for Mich Ultra. Server looked at me like I had 3 heads«What’s that?» Um, second most popular light beer in the country maybe. «We don’t have that» Ok, I’ll try this mug of Sangria on the menu. «We’re out of Sangria» Ok, just make it a root beer them. «We don’t have that» No shit? Ok, just gimme a Coke. «No fountain pop, but I can give you a can of soda for the same price» $ 2…whatta bargain. Wife asked for lemonade. «We don’t have that» Iced tea? «Only unsweetened. …no more sweet tea» That works. Oh boy… I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come. But it was :( Iced tea & coke gets delivered. We order. 2 hot dogs, one side of onion rings please. Oh, also need sugar for the Iced tea. «We don’t have packets of sugar» This is absurd… You got to have sugar… go ask the kitchen! Server of the Year comes back with a plastic cup full of sugar. Should we leave? Mrs. always is too forgiving. «Oh btw, the manager had to go get onion rings so that might be awhile». Forget it… just the dogs so we can leave. Dogs come. Mine was OK at best. Her Chicago dog had pepperoncini instead of sports peppers and regular relish instead of the advertised neon green. Oh well… close enough. The biggest draw back(besides the fact they have virtually nothing required to even operate) is the dogs are messy to eat and management has decided to save a few pennies by using small worthless cocktail napkins instead of a regular lunch/dinner sized napkin. Try mopping up mustard from your face and hands with little pieces of tissue paper… blah I probably know more than the average bear about restaurants and know one thing for sure… this place is bleeding $ from a lack of business and will be gone in 6 months or less. Whatta shame.

Worst $ 30 meal ever. «Sport peppers» are actually banana peppers. We were the only customers in the place while the server sat in the front on his cell phone. Beer selection was horrible. Certainly disappointed, will never be back again.

Cool joint. Fun location. Had a tasty microbrew and the original gangsta dog. Phenomenal. I got some thick cut fries and you could put 5 different spice mixtures on the fries and dip them in a sweet/spicy chile. Chill out, relax and have dog and beer. Will be back.

They have an amazing selection of tons of different dogs and burgers, probably more variety than your typical burger place. The toppings can add up I price, but if you make your own burger its standard in price with most burger places. I’m ordering a «Colombian cartel» with pineapple aoili and chips with sauté onions. Can’t find that anywhere else I know of

Good, not great. I had the Hot Date which was drenched in sauce and was different but not really awesome. My kids’ meals looked okay but neither of them seemed that wowed. The fries were pretty good. The servers seemed bored and were fairly unenthusiastic. I expected more.

The chicken tenders are good, as well as all of the sauce options– it’s nice to try different dipping sauces! I don’t know why it has such bad reviews– it’s in a good location and convenient for a kosher meat place. They are open late which is nice.

First time I ate here the service was mediocre but food was good and memorable. Second experience I was not waited on and walked out– another time it was closed but sign said open– waiters watched me struggle with door and gave me the hand signal of their hand slicing their throat to indicate they were closed– tried again tonight — in the mood for a hot dog — thought I’d try this place one last time over the course of a year– Had my 3rd and last bad experience tonight — I get seated and that’s as far as it got — Was seated and ignored– sat for 16 minutes and although other people were being served in larger parties with tables filled with kids in yarmulkes — just like the last time, I was ignored — the large family tables were well attended to on each occasion while I sat there– tonight I asked for the manager on my way out the door to let her know of my repeatedly bad experiences. She was not concerned– I was embarrassed for her. Unacceptable service seems to be consistent here. I’m in customer service and we would not be in business if that’s the way we treat our customers– it seems to me this place only caters to certain families and that’s where their business comes from.

Stopped here on Passover. They have potato bread buns(kosher for Passover) so the menu is pretty full. The food is really good. The chicken fingers are great. The potato buns are more for show than eating though. I definitely love to come here again after Passover and get the real experience. Plus the service is great.

Yes, you read that right: it’s not an oxymoron. It really IS a kosher barbecue. A huge menu of unusual hot dogs that caters to kosher customers with pastrami bacon which isn’t all that bad. The hot dogs? To quote my neighbor at the community table«Eh…». The Chicago dog probably should’ve come with a life preserver. It was drowning in mustard. It may be windy later, but it did not have much of a chance at being a Windy City worthy dog considering it lacked a pickle spear hot peppers celery salt, ketchup or, oh, artistry, but it was loaded with whole ring onions and peppercinis and too much relish making it it pretty disgusting and gloppy. The hot dog called a Hot Date, was a bit better. It was a blend of Jalapenos, Sriracha, and pastrami bacon. Again, less is more and it was just poorly executed. The positives? What they call Belgian fries aren’t really, having had them numerous times before at places that I know how to make them, but they are particularly good wedge fries, and should probably call them by what they are. That’s also part of the problem with this place, because the menu is sprawling and full of good ideas. They would be better served by using a smaller menu where they focus on excellence at 10 or 12 hot dogs rather than mediocrity at 25 or 30 choices. So it loses a star for the clumsy kitchen. They have another star down for making us wait close 10 minutes before a server stumbled across us, even though they seat you. I was told by several other patrons who been there more than once that slow sloppy service is kind of the Achilles’ heel of this place, but because it’s one of the few fun kosher restaurants in a neighborhood full of Orthodox people, and a kosher Bbq at that, it seems to have developed the following in that community. For them, it’s probably four star, because they don’t dabble in pork or bacon. For the rest of us it’s a very flawed work in progress that has a long way to go to improve on its kitchen and on its customer service. Yet another restaurant in this strip mall that seems to chew up restaurants.

We’re on vacation and were deciding between here and Asia. We chose House of Dog because they had a Bison burger and s’mores on the menu. When we showed up and ordered them they had neither. Already not off to a great start. We were seated directly at a long table in the back in between two groups of teenagers — not exactly what we envisioned for a date night. We moved outside to the tables there, which was definitely nicer. I ended up getting a regular burger with soy cheese and my husband got an Italian sausage. My burger tasted like they hadn’t cleaned off the grill — like burned beef. I took three bites and left the rest. My husband ordered the«bacon» on top of his sausage, and it was basically just pastrami. He was expecting the crisp of the bacon, like they have at Amsterdam Burger Co. in NYC — and it was a disappointment. We were also overwhelmed by the length of the menu and expected a beer menu, which they did not have. We just had to stand in front of their coolers, overwhelmed. The fries were okay — but the bill — about $ 50, for subpar burger, fries, a dog and two beers, was ridiculous. Three of the four of us(we picked up takeout for my inlaws) definitely did not feel good after the meal. Upset stomachs all around. The only positive thing I will say about the whole experience was the service was friendly and good.

This place would get zero stars by me but Unilocal doesn’t allow, where to start, besides and excellent beer selection my praises stop right there, my table of 8 all got their food except me, and while dinner was being served and asking four different people to change the channel we have been watching a dentist commercial operating on teeth during dinner. We asked for the manager and another server came. Update — after several attempts to speak to the manger our server who we saw at the time we placed the order and when we were trying to leave finally came over to us. We explained we never received two orders of fries, a hotdog and my burger these should be removed from the receipt, the server informed us he had given us 15% off but never removed the orders we never received, he obviously never passed math class or the day they issued common sense. The manger gave the entire meal, even the orders never received on the house, which was very nice of her even though we only requested the items never received off of the final bill. We appreciate the gesture however would expect some major changes to the operation before we would ever consider returning, my party was less than satisfied with their food and unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to explain how satisfied or unsatisfied I was since I never received my order.(In their defense they did finally slap together a burger for me but I gave it back to the server with my compliments)

Disappointed! I talked up the«brand» after a great experience [service and food] in Miami Beach. This place is only«ok» because it’s Kosher. If not a 1 star. Food: 1. Overcooked hamburgers are dry and hard to eat. They overcooked 4 of the 6 ordered. 2. Fries came out more than half way through the meal. That sucks. 3. Did I say the burgers were dry! What a shame. 4. By the way, who does not offer unsweetened tea [only sweet]. Service: 1. No host… waiters just trying to figure it out. 2. Excuses of how long the food was waiting. Oh, it’s coming.. sorry we sat 2 large parties… 3. Waiter apologies for wait and food… no manager. 4. Yeah, no offer of a refill on the soda. So bottom line avoid this location unless your kosher and need a dry burger. Hey owners fix it before you destroy it.

I was here again for lunch the other day and this second time around, I’m not as impressed. Sorry if this sounds like nitpicking for some of these, but I’m going to be honest: 1. The menu is still very complex and unnecessarily confusing. It’s over 10 pages long, hard to read, and most of it seems to be a la carte(including toppings). Is it too much to ask to get at least one or two toppings, maybe lettuce and tomato to come free with the price of your burger? They were each 50 cents and upwards a piece and that really adds up when you add specialty toppings, sauces, etc. 2) Portions are small considering the price. We ordered a small fries for one person and a basket of fries(supposedly their version of a large fries) to share with the rest of the table, and the difference in amount was negligible except that it was served in a larger basket. The sandwich I ordered wasn’t very large, either. 3) The prices are very unreasonably high. We were four people ordering a pretty typical, normal-size lunch, and the bill came out to nearly $ 80(not including tip)! While the food is pretty good and the service is decent, I don’t know how often I’ll be coming back here.

Driving by on my way home I noticed that where the old Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries used to be, there was now a hot dog joint. The kitchen that used to have an open concept was now closed, the decoration has a lot of lumber wood and cords, going for an industrial atmosphere, like most of the hamburger places are going for right now. We were seated as soon as we got in and the server had a pad to take our order, which took us a while to decide due to the extensive menu. Yes, the menu is huge! You have pages and pages of options to choose from. You can basically built your own hot dog with different types of toppings and sauces. They also have turkey burger, veggie burger, chicken breast, etc… I felt overwhelmed with all the options and the menu layout did not help. When we were finally able to decide on our orders, they came out very quickly, and I have to say that it was good. I went with the Chipotle dog, with sauteed onions and sweet peppers, and Aoli mayo. You can also choose the bread you want and I decided on a nice baguette. It all tasted very good. They also have a great variety of craft beers to choose from. On draft they had the Floridian and that was a surplus for me! You just need to be careful when choosing your toppings because they will charge nicely which leads to a simple dinner for two costing almost $ 50! And we are talking about hot dogs. It is a nice option in Boca, it won’t get my 4 stars rating because it still not there yet, it can get there, but I believe it needs time to grow since this is a brand new place.

Very confusing menu. So confusing I cant even explain it. Had a soy hot dog with sautéed onions on a pretzel roll and, grilled eggplant and portabella mushroom on a pretzel roll. Dog was decent but eggplant sandwich was skimpy and not very satisfying. Perhaps will give a second chance.
