Sorry but I can not give this place –anything but one. — I was greeted right away — that was good — had take out food — place looked clean — but that is were the compliment stops — chicken wings — they were old and rewarded up horrible –wow — I guess this is the owners taste the beans was very very sweet — and no taste to it — corn on the cob dry — Cole slaw also very very sweet — very sorry but they never see my money — I will not recommend this place —

My husband and I decided to try this place and we are now huge fans! I love the atmosphere(or lack thereof) — now this is a compliment — no frills — just comfy and unpretentious. I loved contributing to a non-franchised restaurant and basically had food that was actually food — not a bunch of processed, preformed stuff that all the restaurants get from the same exact suppliers. With that said, I must also agree(sadly) with one of the other reviewers that I don’ see this staying around for too long. While the laid back, anything goes atmosphere is fine with me when I choose it, this place is run like a hangout for the buddies of the owner(s) instead of like a business. This will be the downfall not the food, not the staff, but the«hangout» vibe(ex: there were children in the restaurant when I was there — the language used was fine for a hangout, but not for a business). I understand they want everyone to feel like they’re comfy in the kitchen, but they also have to realize that the majority of customers just want to be served good food with the company they came in with and go on with their day. Please hire a manager that knows the restaurant business — it’s a tricky business to be in. I sincerely hope you stick around for a long time — I will be back, but will probably do take out next time.

Boca’s Best Bbq/Gibson steakhouse– came by for early dinner on sunday night– Brisket was ridiculously good, couldnt stop eating. We ordered brisket, chicken, baked beans, fries & cole slaw. Daughter loved it all and the service was great– wish i knew her name so i could tell the owner– only downside is my husband saw the owner in overalls and now wants a pair…

This place was just okay. Baby back ribs were served cold and needed to get sent back. They were just meh. If you haven’t had great bbq before you might like it but if you have. Like blue willies, you will not be happy. Pastrami was nothing special and all the sides we had lacked flavor. The service was very good and friendly. It was not bad food but not worth going back in my opinion. Everyone at my table left feeling the same way. Not bad but we all hoped it was going to be better.

You know you are in the area of a true BBQ place when you step out of your car and smell the smoke! Boca’s Best is truly the best! I approached the door and immediately got hungry. Boca’s Best has 2 entrances, one to the restaurant, the other to the take out area. I had the brisket and the cornbeef with cornbread and potato salad as my sides. The cornbread, excellent, the potato salad, fresh, homemade and excellent as well. I like my meat covered in a sauce and surprised that Boca’s Best actually carries gravy!!! If you ordered the Texas toast, make sure you ask for butter. The toast was dry. I like mine smeared with butta!!! Lastly, dessert. The bread pudding drizzled with caramel. OMG!!! OMG!!! The desserts are freshly made daily, a great end to the meal. Our waitstaff was very friendly and attentive!!!

I am basing my opinion on not one but three visits. I truly would like this restaurant to succeed but in my opinion. It will not. First time I went ordered the ribs and brisket egg rolls. I love egg rolls as I get them next door at Bamboo Wak all the time. The ribs were taken out of an aluminum pan and I thought they say there for 2 days. The ribs were as dry as possible and the egg rolls was just a bunch of dough and very little filling. Second time order the brisket and egg rolls again. Same results. The third time was today and I was picking up food next door at Bamboo Wak which was not good either and just ordered the Corn Bread. Thought it would be a good compliment to the egg foo young sauce. Betty Crocker makes a better corn bread. This place might be good Friday to Sunday, but any other day, they do not get enough foot traffic to make the food consistent good. I am sorry to say this place will not last and I am usually right.

St Louis Ribs looked and tasted great with the spicy sauce a useful but not obligatory condiment. Staff remained enthusiastic and friendly– a welcome encounter for Sunday afternoon takeout. Baked Beans had a garlic kick. Bread pudding provided a sweet finish. We will return for Baby Back, Pastrami, Catfish, Chicken and Pulled Pork. And a repeat dosage of the combination St. Louis Ribs and Spicy Sauce on the Side.

Not exactly the«best»… The brisket eggroll appetizer was awesome, so I was ready for equally good food. My mistake to assume. Between our table, the entrees included fried catfish, brisket, and pulled pork. All of which were a great disappointment. The catfish was about one part fish to three parts breading — greasy, doughy breading at that. The brisket and pork was more fat than meat… It wasn’t seasoned at all, the waiter explained that it was because they relied so heavily on the tasty sauces that were on the table. I will say the mustard bbq sauce was phenomenal & made the brisket and pork edible. Sides — cheese from the mac & cheese tasted & looked like it came from the can, and the fries and cornbread were equally unexciting. Overall, we left our leftovers on table and headed to McDonald’s for higher quality food.

It’s rare to find barbecue this good. West Boca is lucky to have this. It’s little different than the typical BBQ place. There are some menu options you might not expect(corned beef, breakfast stuff). It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for. There’s only one other place in the area that comes close — PA in East Boca.

Sorely disappointed. Heard so many great things. Took my family last weekend. Staff very nice, food was not great. No cornbread said it would take to long to make more. Chicken not fully cooked, ribs were good. Mashed potato had a bad after taste. Coleslaw not great. We spent 80.00, wasn’t worth it.

I visited Boca’s Best BBQ and Smokehouse on a recent Thursday evening. The restaurant recently expanded by taking over the former nail salon’s space next door and adding some additional floor space. Upon entering the restaurant, we noted that it wasn’t that crowded although it was a weekday night. We ordered the pulled pork platter with a side of baked beans and rubbed french fries. The pulled pork was a combination of some really pink meat and some really dark meat which concerned me that some of the pork hadn’t been fully cooked. The baked beans were average at best and the six french fries were somewhat tasteless. The three sauces provided on the table were original bbq, honey mustard bbq and spicy bbq. The original and spicy sauces were good but I am not a fan of the honey mustard sauce and did not try it. I also ordered an unsweetened iced tea which was watered down and poor. As a frequent visitor to many of the area’s BBQ restaurants, I was disappointed by Boca’s Best BBQ. The prices weren’t cheap, the portions weren’t great and the food quality was average at best. I will venture elsewhere on my next BBQ adventure.

come on guys, quit messing around and promising things your not delivering. Please, get some smoke, bark, and moisture into your Q. Really, have you ever been to Austin or Memphis and eaten at one of the masters places. Yours is nothing like that. I know you dont have a pit so dont try to compare yourselves, but you can do a lot more with that dime store immitation in house smoker. You wont last if you dont blow us away. The collard greens made me gag… for real. Nice guys but I am pissed off. I hate to be given false hope for real bbq in south florida. keep trying, Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

I must say this was the most delicious meal. The chicken was as moist as it gets with flavor like no other. The pastrami was also the best I have ever tasted and that is saying volumes since I have been eating chicken and pastrami all my life. The staff was quick and very professional. The owner, Nathan even came over to our table to see how everything was. Really a great meal and very reasonable. The place was packed and on a Tuesday night that says it all! Definitely going to dine there often.

My wife and I heard they were serving breakfast and went this morning and it was absolutely delicious! We had waffles and eggs and real bacon and it was better than any other breakfast spot we go to. This new Bbq place is on point with their food And I love that they have custom smokers. The smell alone will keep us coming back. Highly recommend to visit Bocas Best Bbq and Smokehouse!

Went for dinner for the first time tonight and the place is messy, dirty and poorly set up. They had a good crowd of people there but the staff seemed overwhelmed and it was chaotic. When our food finally came the brisket was dried out Very disappointing experience I thought they might have really good barbecue but everything was borderline. I had a potato salad that was blah, macaroni and cheese that was like«Kraft» out of the box and even the garlic toast was not good. Our server tried but he was all over the place was very busy and chaotic I will not return to this restaurant and I cannot recommend it

The baby backs were pretty good but nothing they serve is worth the ridiculous prices they charge. A full rack is $ 25 and $ 10 for a sandwich. The staff is very nice but with these prices and other BBQ places better, I can’t see them making if after snowbirds depart.

Oh my. SO good I may have to move. The brisket was the best I have ever had. Not your Bubbes. Better. Sorry Bubbe. Lean, but not dry, with a nice smoke ring. Collards, heathy slaw… so good. We also tried the fried chicken. Yes, please. Crispy and not greasy. We were given a taste of the corned beef and pastrami. Delicious. Peppery and lean. I don’t know how they do it all, but I am sure glad they do! The staff and the management were on point making sure everyone was well taken care of. You would never know they just recently reopened. THese guys are real pros. Now, if you could just open in my neighborhood…

So… I posted the below back in November., had to update now that this is now Boca’s Best BBQ and Smokehouse! NEWNAMEANDNEWMANAGEMENT– SUPERB!!! You’ve gotta see the custom 10′ smoker… sure can tell the difference in the Q! It was fabulous before… even better now! Went last night with friends. As I had had the pulled pork(my fav) earlier in the week, I tried their new fried chicken. Speaking as a girl raised in Tennessee, this was TODIEFOR! My friend from MA deemed the brisket the best she’s ever had. My husband had Hoppin John for the first time and was in heaven. Hooray for the new menu! Big screen TV’s, chalkboards for the kids to draw on, a Kids Book Box(great idea!) with children’s books and coloring books to keep your wee ones occupied. What a great idea!

This place needs new management. We want last night and it took us several times to order because they were out of several Items or ran out before putting orders in. Between all of us we had the following: brisket chili, Texas toast, cornbread, Rueben, sweet potato fries and half a roasted chicken. Brisket chili tasted more like someone accidentally used chicken broth with it relatively tasteless and flavorless. The shredded chicken tasted like dog food dry and tasteless. The bbq sauces were good. The brisket didn’t taste like it was bbq or smoked it all just like regular brisket any good Jewish mother could make in an oven. The Ruben was decent as well as the corn bread, fries and toast. But service needs to improve. The people are very nice but with the amount of hype regarding the food you need better planned inventory and a better organized staff. What would have been easiest was what my husband suggested was for them to by a blackboard which they had already in the restaurant and write what they actually had instead of coming over to tell us every five minutes what else that they were out of it. I mean it was comical and all but not how I prefer to eat. We were there so long that someone thought we had finished before we received the food. The last person in our group got there at 7:15 and we ordered at 8 and got our food around 8:45.

Wow! Husband and I came here for lunch today. He got the pulled chicken sandwich with cornbread and I got the brisket sandwich with coleslaw. The brisket was amazing; flavorful, tender, and a generous portion. The chicken didn’t have any sauce on it, you got to pick your own. It wasn’t spiced, and wasn’t dried out. My husband LOVED the Raspberry BBQ, and I was partial to the buffalo style BBQ. The cornbread was heavy, moist, and flavorful. We’ll definitely be back!

Looking for a real BBQ place close to home and unfortunately this is not it. We ordered for pickup after reading the other reviews. To sample the menu we tried: Full rack of baby back ribs ½ rack of St Louis Ribs Quarter Chicken(given a leg and thigh) Collard greens Macaroni and cheese Red beans and rice Healthy coleslaw Apple Cobbler We also order an 8 piece wings but when we got there we were told they were out of them Sadly, it is not true BBQ. No smoke, no smoke ring, which is what we look for in BBQ. I make good home cooked ribs and these were about even to my own, although my dry rub had more flavor. Sadly they did not include any additional BBQ sauce with any of the items or ask if we wanted any. The chicken was moist but had no personality at all. The sides were nothing special and everyone actually enjoyed the canned applewood smoked Pork and Beans I opened and heated up to serve with the meal more than any of the sides purchased. The apple cobbler was nothing more than warm cinnamon apples with a small cup of granola to pour on top. That isn’t apple cobbler :( Maybe I just ordered«wrong» but for $ 60 I think it’s a good sampling of the menu. They were very nice, everything was packed well, and was still warm when we got home. When we got there the food was all ready to go. The ordering and pickup was great. I just don’t think we will be ordering from here again and my search for real BBQ will continue.

Great food, fun atmosphere and awesome service. We arrived here as a family of three and we were instantly greeted and seated. I ordered the Tue Special, pulled brisket sandwich and slaw. My wife ordered the BBQ wings and my young daughter had the Mac and Cheese with corn on the cob. We all enjoyed our food and the BBQ sauce was tasty. Refills were plentiful and the manager and staff were genuinely interested in us having a great experience. A flat screen TV with an image of a fireplace and southern music playing in the background added to our experience. We will definitely return!

Delicious BBQ with a healthy twist! I ordered the lean brisket, pulled BBQ chicken, baked beans and healthy slaw. All of it was extremely good, reminded me of living in the true South again! The brisket was tasty and tender while the chicken was moist and plentiful. The real kicker were the BBQ sauces, I had Spicy, Blueberry, and Raspberry. The spicy was thick and spicy and the Blueberry was amazing with the brisket. The Raspberry was a little too sweet for me though. Excellent place that I highly recommend!

I see many mixed reviews here. I’m giving it four stars, but if I could I would probably put down a solid 3 and a half — great, but still room for improvement. For those that are leaving these horrible, scathing reviews: I see why you feel dissatisfied, but you have to take a few things into consideration. This is a small restaurant, much like a hole in a wall. This is also a NEW restaurant! They are working with a straight beeline layout(it used to be a Subway). I give them a lot credit for working with this type of set up because it is not much space. As another commenter stated — I recommend ordering take out. The staff is visibly stressed, obviously because they are handling a lot of business. It was very busy and I was surprised how many people came in to pick up, and how many people were having a sit-down meal. I believe they are quite literally learning as they go. Is that ideal? No. They’re learning the hard way how to run a restaurant, but they are learning. I say give it another few months, and they will have it running like clockwork. The food: I ordered half rack of baby back ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken, corn, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, and beans. The chicken and pork were very tender, slow cooked. The chicken was definitely some of the best. The pork was good too. I didn’t find them overly sauced, either, as some previous posters commented. It was just the right amount. The ribs were good, but not the best I’ve had. The macaroni and cheese was just average. What really surprised me were the baked beans. They had to be a passed down, family recipe. I’ve never had baked beans with such flavor. It was fresh garlic, with pork and a little bit of fat. Pleasantly surprising, I actually enjoyed them. To the owner, I would recommend: having two teams, one team for take out orders, and another for sit-dish guests. Trying to juggle them both causes too much confusion. Another thing, maybe consider adding some tasteful music, and dimmed red lights. It’s a small addition, but it might help the atmosphere. Overall: a low four rating. With a little time and organization, this place will be great. Keep at it!

I am a huge BBQ fan and have been to the major festivals in Lexington, NC, Memphis, TN, Kansas City, etc… This BBQ is ok, better than most of the stuff you get in South Florida. However, there was no smoke flavor or a «smoke ring» in the meat. I ordered ½ rack of St Louis spare ribs, chopped pork and collard greens, sweet potato casserole, and Mac and cheese. Ribs — ok but covered in sauce. I prefer a nice dry rub, smoke ring and if need be, a little sauce on the side. Pork, again prefer a dry run and some«mr brown»(outside of the pork butt bark). Again covered in sauce. Greens — Good, a little sweet, but not the best I’ve ever had Mac and cheese — tasted like crap you get at a cafeteria. Why not add some bread crumbs and cheese to the top? It would help :( Sweet potato(mash) casserole. Good, but what’s not good with butter and brown sugar. Pecan pie. — not many pecans, super sweet. I’ll stick with making my own. :( Iced tea — a staple with BBQ, came in a bottle. :(

Decent but not great BBQ. Came here for for lunch. Friendly service and a nice welcome coming in. Good use of the space with some outdoor seating(uncovered) as well. The menu is what you expect from a BBQ restaurant with choices of ribs, brisket, chicken etc. with various classic sides of mac n cheese, okra, collard greens etc. Prices are a buck or two more than they should be. I ordered the half chicken, which was ok. A little light on flavor, it just didn’t have that smoked taste that normally comes with BBQ’d chicken. Side of rice and beans was better than the collard greens that did not have any flavor at all. Also no pepper vinegar was available to spice up the collards. I was really expecting more from this place. Hope they improve the food a bit, and at this time I can’t recommend. However, I will come back for another try.

My sweet dreams about this new Sweet Dewey’s becoming a stop off point for good, local, drive-by BBQ went up in smoke today. After grabbing a take out order of baby backs, wings, chopped pork, pulled chicken and sweet potato fries, only the fries achieved a passing grade of C+. The wings had rubbery skin and were under-cooked, the ribs were tough, the pulled chicken was drenched in sauce and the pork lacked any real flavor. There’s only about three or four tables in the small cramped quarters and the layout to order, wait and pay is overly crowded and awkward. Not a sweet experience!
