I was very disappointed. I ordered the pork tenderloin, and received pork loin(not tenderloin) that was overcooked. The waiter was not knowledgeable of the food and the flavors were meh. Sides were underseasoned. I was so looking forward to the meal and it was very underwhelming.

This is such a wonderful establishment with a diverse menu! It’s close to our neighborhood so I frequently take my toddler here for mommy dates. The staff is very accommodating to a toddler’s needs and the food is great! The pimento cheese appetizers comes with fresh fruits and veggies which adds a refreshing bite to an otherwise heavy dish and the kids portions are huge for the price! My only complaint is that they are a little heavy handed on the sauces at times.

The food would be good… if you could ever get any. I swear to god this is the second time I have been to this restaurant yo be told they’ve closed early(8 pm) because they are«out of food.» I can never come here for dinner and know that I’m going to get food… off the menu. I wanted macaroni, fried green tomatoes, and salad. They had nothing. Thanks for ruining my friends’ graduation dinner guys.

I ordered take out from here on a saturday afternoon. The food was very good. I had a fried green tomato blt and the pimento cheese appetizer plate. The appetizer was delicious and i would definately order it again. It had a large scoop of the cheese with fresh vegetables, grapes and some type of bread wedges with parmesian cheese on them. The blt also was yummy. When I picked up my order i thought the décor was nice and the bar looked fun.

Looks to me that the owners have changed. Didn’t know what it used to be like, but the server was pretty rude.

I used to go to this restaurant all the time. I enjoyed their burgers, and other food, but what I loved most of all was an amazing chocolate dessert they had(layers of chocolate cake, cheesecake, ganache– I would dream of it). Whenever I would get together with friends, and it was my turn to choose the dinner place, we would go here. For some reason, they took the cake off the menu, and that was a big disappointment. It’s not so much that I don’t care for Sweetgrass, it’s more that now that that cake is gone, the big draw is gone for me. But I still give it credit for having a nice atmosphere. Very laid back, comfortable, spacious.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Sweet Grass used to be a hidden little gem. Fresh, hot, unique. We were loyal customers for a long time. Last several trips have been a big disappointment. This one star is for you grit cake — never change.

Ordered takeout on 4÷1÷16. Little did we know we would be «April Fools.» Spent $ 52 on one steak salad and two Seabrooke salads. Got about $ 4 worth of food. The Seabrooks contained a mound of spinach, nine microscopic shrimp, one grape cut in half, two onion slivers and a «fleeting taste» of cucumber/goat cheese. The salad accompanied with nothing — like bread. The steak salad — less memorable than the Seabrooks. Overpriced, disappointing quality, a weird entry area. We urge you to go elsewhere.

In love with the atmosphere of this place! Good for a drink at the bar, dinner out with friends or family, perhaps even a date. With lights strung about, candles, and open window views it has a slight romantic feel. When I have friends visiting bloomington this is my go to place with easy parking and let me tell you about the food. The veggie melt is amazing when wanting something warm and delicious and don’t forget cheesy. With spring in the air, the chicken salad sandwich is perfect with portion sizes enough to take some home too. Friends have also enjoyed the Dixie chicken sandwich and there’s plenty more I want to try in the future to keep me coming back. Dessert always looks amazing, just try and leave some room since I always leave this place so full!

Great atmosphere, low lighting, has a romantic feel. Our server was nice, food was decent, dessert was awesome.

I’ve been to Sweet Grass numerous times and lately I feel like the place is going downhill. My last visit wasn’t as great, when I first walked in, it smelled horrible. I’m assuming it was coming from the kitchen cause as we sat, the smell wasn’t as bad. Our waitress was attentive but I didn’t like that she kept running her fingers through her hair. The worst part of my experience was the food, the burger was extremely greasy and put together messy. Plus, the sweet potato fries were so bland.

Walked in and was very pleased with the layout. Has a very romantic/upper class feeling due to the dim lighting and Christmas lights. However we were not greeted very well by an Asian woman who apparently worked there. A simple hello back would have been nice, instead of a blow off. Waitress was very nice, and very polite. Food was delicious. I was impressed with the spicy coleslaw. That made up for the rude Asian.

Food was good, nice flavor, cooked well and good presentation. Environment décor was… lacking and a little confusing. Service was definitely lacking a lot, to the point of being a bit awkward. Basically, If I eat there again we’ll be getting the food to go.

Very disappointed… haven’t been there for quite sometime… was nothing like it was the last several times I was there. I noticed this past summer the patio furniture was not in use and it used to be full during season as its a beautiful restaurant. nice location. Very dark when I went by there I thought possibly it had closed. But we thought we would give it a try. Dark inside used flash lite on phone to read menu and read our tickets. 3 people 3 plates of food left no questions were ask as to why no one ate so we didn’t say. enough said. No words were needed. Cold inside — Waitresses wearing sweatshirts with there uniforms. Displeased but more importantly sad for the restaurant as it was one of my favorites!

Ordered a signature pork tenderloin. Meat not cooked through, really pink center, had trouble chewing. Contacted for a redelivery at 930pm. 5 mins later was informed that it was not an option and I could only take a refund of 10 bucks vs. the menu price of 21+ because the sides were still edible. Really disappointed with the food AND the service rendered from the restaurant(the operator from MrDelivery was understanding and patient, credits for him trying to talk to the restaurant 3 times for a full refund but to no avail).

So we made our first visit here today Monday October 5th and we went for lunch. In fact we got there a few minutes before they opened at 11am. We opted for patio seating since it was a nice fall day outside and we probably wont have too many of those left. It was a bit cool because that part of the building has shade in the morning. Our server came right out, I wish that I could recall her name. She was an African American lady and very personable and friendly. I made it a point to bring this up as there seems to be a lot of negative reviews based on service and this was not our experience. I will say that we were the only ones there for the first 10 minutes. But I don’t think that would have mattered she seemed like a really good server. They don’t have an extensive menu for lunch but there is definitely a variety of sandwiches and salads. We opted for the Johnny Cake for an appetizer with some apple bacon butter and both were pretty tasty. I ordered the Cutter Classic burger and I will tell you it was pretty amazing. I worry about ordering burgers because I do not like burger that are frozen and I don’t like charbroiled burgers either because they taste like charcoal and not burgers. Well this place definitely uses fresh hand patty burgers and they are cooked on a regular grill and maintain all that juicy goodness. I was pleasantly surprised. Being a southerner from the deep south I challenged them and ordered not only fried okra as a side but I also got the Collard Greens. The Collard Greens were really good with a little bit of a kick to them but not too hot. I liked them a lot. Who knew that someone in Bloomington even knew what Collard Greens were much less would be able to prepare them. The fried okra was good but my only complaint is either make sure you let them drain for a bit to get the excess grease off of them or put a liner in the serving dish to make sure you don’t get a lot of excess grease on them. The ones on the bottom of my bowl were too greasy to eat. I did feel like the portions for their sides were not equal to the pricing. I was left wanting more. The other person in my party got the Chicken Salad sandwich and said it was really good but wished it could have been a little more creamy. I already said that I am a southerner so I got the Sweet Tea and it is truly southern sweet tea here so be prepared for some sweet tea. In fact it had been so long since I have had southern style sweet tea I had to ask the server to give me half sweet half unsweet. But it was some good tea for sure. And that was a good thing because otherwise it was Coke products which I do NOT like. I was a little nervous going here with all the mixed reviews but our experience was definitely a good one. I was also nervous when I heard new owners because that can go either way. They have added a section of Asian foods which I don’t really know where that fits in with this style of restaurant but hey. I will say that as we left there were more than a dozen Asians dining there eating that Asian food they were serving so it must be a good thing. Just not for me. One of those dishes was some sort of Rabbit. All I could think of was poor olé Thumper from Bambi. Can’t do it. LOL. The one thing that kept me from giving a 5 star is they really need to do something with their décor. I was not wowed by their entrance area. Almost has a pizza pickup window look to it. The outside patio was nice enough. Not really much to see but I just like being outdoors. Would have been nice for them to have a few entrée items on the lunch menu for those who are not into sandwiches as well. We will definitely be back. Two of us for lunch $ 37 plus tip.

I’ve been here twice and I can’t figure out why people like it. I had a pork sandwich that was just okay with green beans that seemed as if they were just poured out of a can. Still, I hear people rave about it, but I won’t be back. Nothing else on the menu appealed to me and the rest of the dining experience was just okay.

Can I first start off by saying«what is happening to you sweet grass!?» I’ve been to this spot numerous times, and it’s slowly becoming more & more apparent it’s on a down hill slope. Let’s talk about this most recent visit… It’s Monday @6:30. My husband and I get seated at a table right away… Wait about 10 min for our server to take drink order… We also order our food, since we had enough time to figure that out … Food arrives… My husband got a pork sandwich of some sort, that was pretty amazing, I went with the Pimento Mac(my go to 4⁄5 times) … I could tell just by looking at the dish it was not going to be enjoyable… Over cooked. No gooey cheesy goodness, just sad dried up pasta… Ok… so they over cooked the Mac and cheese, I know they’re better than that … They can fix this… Nope! I tried to get the waitress’s attention for literally 15 min, she never stopped by once… * Mind you the food was dropped off by a food runner… We hadn’t seen the waitress since she brought over our waters. By the time we finally waved her down, I told her the issue of how«it tasted as if they just microwaved left over pimento Mac«…she assured me they did not have a microwave, then offered to make a new one … Yea, 15 min ago that would have been fine but now, NO. I asked to just take it off the bill and that was that. So disappointed The professionalism of the servers and cooks — that’s what’s bringing this rating down for me … Sweet grass is better than what their employees are portraying.

Went there with a buddy for the first time. No one came to our table in the 10 minutes we waited. Luckily it was enough time to realize everything is expensive($ 13 for Mac and Cheese is a lot regardless of the amount of pimento cheese it has) and since no one cared that we were waiting, we left. I wish I could say I tried the food, but I’m not waiting more than 10 minutes to have someone take my drink order. If you’re thinking about going here, call ahead. That might give them enough time to get ready to take a drink order.
