Have now had two negative experiences at this establishment, so I won’t be going back. On New Year’s Eve, despite having a reservation, we waited an hour to be seated at a Hibachi grill. Upon being seated, it became clear that they were woefully understaffed, with only a single Hibachi chef and a single waitress for a restaurant full of patronsI Despite this, they were continuing to seat walk-in patrons as they arrived. We waited an additional 30 minutes without anyone coming to our table, and walked out for dinner elsewhere. On Father’s Day, we called ahead and were told we could be seated in 20 minutes. When we arrived, we were seated within 10 minutes, but waited an hour for the hibachi chef. Again, it appeared that they had only a single waitress and a single chef. The restaurant was not very crowded, but it was clear they were scrambling. Food was good, once we finally got some.

Not sure if the people giving this place 5 stars have ever had hibachi before. I’m well traveled & this is the worst I’ve ever had. The sushi was no better. 2 pieces of the sake roll & I wasn’t eating anymore. The hibachi was cooked one thing at a time, last being veggies so the other food was cold by the time every thing was finished. Rice had zero taste. Shrimp cooked in some weird sauce I’ve never seen at any other hibachi place before. Very disappointed. Will never return

Went there tonight with a friend sat at the sushi bar about to order and a roach ran across the table we jumped up and got the hell out of there and ate elsewhere. They need to properly exterminate and clean before I think of coming back.

I love the drinks and the fresh sushi and sashimi. The owner Sammy is great and the vibe on Fridays with live bands are great with a wonderful atmosphere.

Favorite sushi in the area. The owner, Sam, is such an amazing guy. He always makes you feel like you’re the only patron in the place. The sushi rolls are always great and the hibachi is equally delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable and low-key. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy a cocktail, a meal, and a conversation. I highly recommend this place.

This is my favorite sushi spot near Windsor. The prices are a little higher than Ginza or Izumi, but it’s totally worth it; you’re getting quality sushi. The speciality rolls are incredible. Check out the Blackbird Roll and the Red Hot Roll, they’re my go-to.

We love the large menu choice and the décor and clean and relaxing interesting ambience: aquariym, real stained wood and glass and steel. Legit food always. You will eventually find favorites on the menu if you come here enough. The waitstaff has been grand to us everytime. Doreen is our favorite. The music puts me at ease. A GREAT place for an evening business meeting and even a date! Looking at the cook and the waitstaff these people are serious at restauranting, like as if they are operating in an actual important city environment instead of bloomfield.

The Sake Café is an excellent place to come to, either for the bar or for a great meal. First off, Sammy the bartender, is amazing. He brings customer service to a whole new level and sets a very high standard. He is friendly and affable and makes sure that everyone feels at home. On top of all of that, he is also a phenomenal drink mixer. Top notch at what he does. Now onto the food. The food was absolutely delicious and came in very generous portions. I was amazed by the serving sizes all at a reasonable price too. The sushi was excellent, the hibachi chicken was very flavorful and I also tried a calamari salad, which was good, but not quite as good as the hibachi. Great place to check out in Bloomfield.

The food here is incredible; however, the service is horrendous. Our waitress was disrespectful and inattentive, and rolled her eyes & argued with us when we informed her that two of our orders were wrong(they were never corrected, nor taken off our bill). Beyond that, our appetizer plates were never cleared, despite the fact that we were at a 2-person table with limited space and that they were clearly empty & stacked at the edge. It took over half an hour to get the check; we had to call her over to ask for it, nothing was ever cleared from the table, and we had to approach the bar and pay, because our waitress never came back, despite multiple attempts to flag her down for an extended period of time. For a restaurant with such good, high quality food, the service needs a lot of improvement.

We have enjoyed dining at Sake for years now and always have a great time. The kids still love the hibachi entertainment(onion volcanos etc) and the food is always great. Whether you have sushi or hibachi or both you won’t be disappointed. The drinks are fun and delicious too. Prices are much more affordable that other local popular Japanese restaurant. When I say«who wants to go to Sake?» in my house, everyone is instantly happy! More Sake, More Happy!

So this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. They have great hibachi and sushi. The only problem is they have poor service. Until they step up their service we probably won’t be dining in, we will stick to take out. Most of the time they don’t have a true bartender. Please hire a bartender, it would make the experience so much more pleasant. No one likes waiting 20 min for a drink If they continue this route, they will lose alot of loyal customers. If the service was better would definitely give them 5 stars

I absolutely love their salmon avocado roll and avacado roll. The steak hibachi is also great… But they have the rudest waitress EVER working in the dining area, even when you are polite to her. She is aggressive when speaking to customers, rolls her eyes and signs at the slightest request. Once I asked for silverware for the salad and she literally dropped the knife and fork on the table while walking by, no napkin, it just hit the care table without her looking at us and walked off. It took over 10 minutes to get her attention for clean silverware. I would give them five stars if it wasn’t for the terrible service while dining it. I suggest getting everything to go. SAKE has the most disrespectful waitress I’ve ever had to deal with in my life. I have come on multiple occasions because the food is good, but after the last time I won’t be dining in again.

This has to be the worst hibachi I’ve ever been to. First, we had a reservation for 13; however, it took us half an hour to get seated(in the empty hibachi area). Then, after sitting, it took ten minutes before they got our drink order, which definitely wasn’t a problem. While waiting for our drinks, another group showed up and had their food order taken/food cooked before we even had our food order taken. Finally, the waitress was the most rude person I’ve ever met. When we asked for anything, she immediately rolled her eyes at us and started shaking her head at us. I would’ve been fine with all of this, but she was constantly rude to us and it took her 45 minutes to settle our checks. The owner got in a verbal fight with one of the girls in our party and told her«never to come back». This restaurant is an absolute joke and nobody should ever visit it

Sake Café is without a doubt one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Bloomfield area. I’m typically not a sushi fan but their«Rock & Roll» rolls changed everything for me. The combination of chicken & salmon is a dynamic duo filled with intense flavor. The service was great. Warm and inviting, second to none. My mom was even served a complimentary Baked Salmon entrée(which was incredible) because it was Mother’s Day free of charge!

Arrived at 3:01 and was told lunch was over and I had to order dinner(@Hibachi) however the cook informed us that we ordered hibachi lunch(therefore smaller portion). Hum, no. They corrected this quickly so kudos there. The cook was fun and engaging. Quality of food was pretty good and they were accommodating to not put mushrooms in my veggie mix. The 2 stars are given for the fact that 1) the rice was just rice. No veggies in the rice or anything… Just rice. This is a first I’ve seen when it comes to hibachi. Strange. The biggest issue I had was that the chef used so so so so much sauce that was salt laden I couldn’t handle it. I’ve never in my experiences with hibachi(trust, there have been PLENTY) seen my food drenched in sauces… Good lord. I wouldn’t return for that fact alone.

In Bloomfield for business and happened across this place. Pad Thai is amazing. Sushi was great. Really beautiful atmosphere and great customer service. Fish tank needs some TLC. Other than that we will gladly make the drive back for the Pad Thai.

I love their hibachi. I’ve had hibachi in Stamford, CT(where great restaurants are on every corner), and this restaurant’s hibachi is identical to theirs. I had a hibachi dinner at a regular table and it wasn’t as tasty. If you’re going to have hibachi I would highly recommend sitting at the actual hibachi table. The service is spot on, and the prices(especially for lunch) are extremely reasonable.

Came here for company dinner, part of 12. Atmosphere is modern and date quality, good for many occasions. Food is surprisingly good. I tried the sashimi sushi plate which came with miso soup and salad(salad was very tasty!) sashimi was fresh and it was a good amount of food for that price of $ 25? Red bean mochi dessert had 3 mochi cut in halves, green tea ice cream is delicious too about 2 – 3 scoops. Exotic bomba is like an icy slushie snow that looked like peach slices. They also have fried ice cream to try too! Hibachi in my opinion is usually not worth it especially if you’re seated regularly without the hibachi show. Service was professional and friendly. Most of the plates had very appetizing presentation and were delicious. Average price for a person is $ 12 – 20, some being less or more.

Stopped in for lunch today, and didn’t hate it, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Sushi was very good quality, but the service was pretty much a nightmare. Keep in mind, we’re talking about lunch here, so you’re expecting to be in and out in 30 – 40 minutes. I ordered a standard lunch special($ 9.95 — not bad), which consisted of miso soup, salad, and 2 rolls. Literally took 20 minutes for the soup and salad to come out. This blew my mind because there is no prep time needed on these items. Just grab some pre-made salad, ladle out some soup, and schlep it over to the table! How does that take 20 minutes when there are no more than 8 people in the restaurant? Strange Again, the redeeming quality here is that the sushi is very good. Quite possibly the best in the Bloomfield area. I’d definitely come back again… but only for take-out.

Not too shabby! I like this place — it isn’t the most mind blowing sushi that I’ve ever had, but it was good. They have a big selection of rolls and lots of them are fancy specialty rolls. It’s kinda sad but one of the ways that I judge sushi restaurants is «Did I get violently ill after eating there?» The answer is no. No violent illnesses to report. Automatically a good start.
