These guys are what the world is missing these days in terms of service. a true butcher shop with old school service. The two brothers chatted with me about my order and some of the various special items they could bring in. In fact, they shared a story of how they prepare porchetta (which you can rarely find made properly in NJ) for a customer every year. With the ever-​growing expansion of chain markets, we need to strongly support a family owned business like Mastrianos that takes such passion in providing a high level of customer service in this day. Most importantly, my order was top quality and reasonably priced!

This old school Italian deli/​butcher has amazing food. They have everything for a full meal: soup, apps, meat, breads and desert. I brought home a pound of the homemade chicken/​mozzarella/​broc rabe sausage and it was delicious. My mouth was thanking me… I just wished that I had purchased more. I’ve heard heard good things about their sandwiches and will try them on my next visit.
The staff is friendly and the prices are fair as well.

I found this place on Unilocal and I was waiting to post since I wanted to go a few times. I have to say every time the food has been AWESOME. I go there to get my cold cuts and I normally pick up a sandwich (The NiNi is my favorite) and every time its a home run. They also cut my deli meats just right.
Totally awesome would recommend to anyone.

My fiancé and I went in there for some steaks, and came out with a bag full of goodies lol Firstly, the place is very clean and the staff was unbelievably friendly. They greeted us and chatted with us the whole time. They were not pushy or trying to sell us anything, but they genuinely wanted to talk and learn about where we lived and what we liked etc. We ended up buying the steaks, some homemade pumpkin raviolis (that I cannot wait to try!) and a Roast Beef sandwich on rye which was ABSOLUTELY amazing! We appreciate quietly meat and service and will def be going back for our specialty items or when we want a really great sandwich/​sub :) My only critique would be the prices on the chicken. Meat prices were equal or better then what you’d get at Fairway, but the chicken price was much higher then expected.

We happened upon this neighborhood butcher and deli when searching for a home in Bloomfield, NJ, where we subsequently moved. The staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable. They have a great selection of meat, and they are very patient when explaining to us for the hundredth time how to grill the steak to medium-​rare perfection. For Christmas week, we pretty much loaded up with every type of meat offering they had, and everything was great. We’ve also had the sandwiches (the large are quite large, easy to share unless you are someone with a huge appetite). They also have a nice selection of pastas, canned goods, some fresh vegetables, etc. Also, they are open weekends. A wonderful alternative to the supermarket meat department. Just remember to call ahead if you are ordering for the holidays!

Ordered a large #20 at this establishment for lunch today for $ 12.95. I shared it with my wife and it was definitely enough for the both of us. The place appears clean and had 5 employees who were all polite.
Now the sandwich … Quality bread and abundant chicken breast. Chicken breast was a little dry. Mozzarella and red peppers were tasty with balsamic dressing. I would suggest adding arugula for anyone ordering this sandwich. Overall, a quality sandwich at a fair price.

Great spot for sandwiches with an extensive menu. I’m a simple guy so I ordered a Ham and cheese sandwich on a roll. If you can’t make a good ham and cheese sandwich, that’s usually how I’ll judge the rest of your food. Mastriano’s did not fail to deliver. The sandwich was very delightful and had a fair price. I am excited to go back and try more of what they have to offer. Friendly service with an awesome display of other meats and dishes.

Awesome local pork store. Great sandwiches and fresh meats. They’d get 5 stars if it were friendlier on the wallet. Great home made sausage. Prosciutto de Parma, hard provolone, roasted red peppers, balsamic vinegar on a hero. That’s my sandwich. Hasn’t made the official list yet but try it and thank me later.

On a cold and snowy February weekend, how can you beat two sandwiches from here? Had the Norwalk (delicious smoked turkey with stuff) and the Fat Fairview (eggplant parm sub). Called in the order, and those guys who work there are so nice. My hubby loved that Valentine’s Day lunch! And I went after yoga class and his Y workout – so no guilt. Top notch Jersey subs, period.

Top Quality: It’s the only place I buy skirt steak. The subs are amazing. The staff is very knowledgeable about food and meat. Oh and for my sleeper pick… Try the rice pudding. Its the best we ever had. I get it everytime I go.

I tasted three sandwiches: Tuna, Turkey and Grilled chicken with roasted red peppers and mozzarella. All decent! The small size sandy is very small-​keep that in mind. It cost less than $ 6 for a small. The bread was OK. I’ve had better sandwiches in general, but I’ve also had a lot worse. They sell a lot of frozen dishes and Italian goodies.

A list of 45 sandwiches of all goodness. Just had the Chedda which is listed as #20 on the list. Grilled chicken, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Peppers with balsamic vinegar. Now I have 44 more to go. Can’t wait!!! If you don’t want to wait just call ahead 973−338−6880.

Fantastic local butcher who gets whatever we need for us. Veal bones to make stock, check; beautiful prime rib for Christmas dinner, check; brisket with the fat cap left on to make Texas style BBQ, you know it. Just call in advance to place your order. Also they prepare their veal cutlets perfectly, pounded thin so you don’t have to worry about it at home. A local treasure.

I’m the friend Brian C. is referring to (see post before mine). I give this place 5 stars because it really is as good as it gets. You can’t beat the portion sizes and freshness of the ingredients for the price. I’ve tried a couple of their subs but I would also say that my favorite is the #32. They also are a butcher shop with great prime meats and they have a nice frozen section as well which includes Long Island duck breast. The employees are also very helpful and friendly.
One thing to note: they’re closed on Wednesdays. Apparently this is a tradition that dates back to the original owners.

The staff is always friendly and courteous, and their food is top quality. They use Boars Head premier and bread from a high end local bakery that is always fresh and delicious.
Their prepared foods are well done and reasonably priced. They stock high quality meats and poultry.
A solid job all around, a fine place to get a sandwich, lunch/​dinner or meats to cook at home.
