Blanco is the halfway point between my parents’ house and my house. We’ve stopped here for YEARS and never tasted food as DELICIOUS as we did yesterday. This place had some pretty good reviews so I had high expectations. It EXCEEDED those expectations. Food was divine both sandwiches and pies. The owners were delightful. My daughters and I enjoyed coloring the paper to-go sacks. Stop here and enjoy a meal!

You place your order at a walk up window. The owners are delightful, easy to talk with. I only picked up pie, by the slice. Next time I’ll order whole pies in advance. The lunch menu has some yummy looking sandwiches which I look forward to trying next time.

Excellent food! I had the Tiki Marsala which was tasty and my husband had the shrimp with cheesy grits which is the best we’ve had. The staff was friendly and helpful. We are going to go back again today! We also had the bourbon pecan pie… very good.

Oh my god! Eating here was one of the best things that’s ever happened to me in my entire life. I give it a BILLION stars! My mouth is haunted by that food. Nothing will ever be the same. In fact, it makes me angry knowing now just how great food could be. I have a new binary categorization of restaurants: Josie’s Kitchen &NOT Josie’s Kitchen. Until I make it back up to the Hill Country again to visit my brother Joe(who works at Real Ale) I am doomed to wander my hometown in torment; every meal a laborious bout of agonizing, soul-crushing mediocrity. Thank you… thank you so much for being the beacon of gastronomic divinity that you are. I can’t wait to go back.

If you haven’t tried this place what are you even doing with your life? Everything I have tried has been excellent, owners are awesome and food is made with love and excellent ingredients.

Probably the best cheese-steak sandwich I’ve ever had. Love the key-lime pie. Their daily lunch specials keep things interesting — you never know what it might be next. While delicious, nonetheless, some menu items can be a bit heavy on condiments.

We stopped in for lunch on Tuesday & found that Josie’s Kitchen make their own bread, rolls, pies from scratch. Husband had the hamburger that was cooked to perfection, half pound of meat, seasoned flavorfully. Comes with a side so we ordered a side salad with fresh vinaigrette. I ordered the soup of the day, Beef Barley. Very hardy & filling. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is the seating for in restaurant service. They are working on the dining area but it was cold. Another thing, & it might be a city/county ordinance, some of the patrons were smoking & we are offended by the cigarette smoke. But otherwise, a 5 star & will return for other selection on their menu & a piece of that Banana Cream Pie. And yes the owners are super friendly & accommodating.

So, as you can see by my check-ins, we frequent Josie’s Kitchen for many reasons. The service is fantastic! The husband and wife team are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. You can tell they have great passion for what they do. The food is… absolutely, hands down, phenomenal. Made from scratch, on point, mind blowing culinary yumminess! They run daily specials which is typically what we get, but even their regular menu is so incredibly good. If you want dinner on Thursday or Friday night you cannot go wrong with their shrimp and grits– OHMY! My other favorite is their salmon fish tacos. You shouldn’t miss the tacos when they run the special! Last week they ran a special for Chicken Tikka Masala that was just perfection. Their pies are also superb. They’re made from scratch and it’s just like eating a slice of heaven. We’ve tried the bourbon pecan, coconut cream, chocolate cream, ginger buttermilk, and I know we’ve had others and now we’re taking pies to Thanksgiving since they’re selling them(oh the family will be so spoiled). Anyhow, this is just a glimpse into why we eat at Josie’s so frequently. Simply amazing!

I have enjoyed this place twice and have loved it both times. Portions are large enough to share, great place for take out. The menu is creative and I can’t wait to try it all. I’m looking forward to trying dinner. Food tasted fresh, server is friendly. A hidden jewel in the hill country. The down side is they only have covered outdoor seating, it’s not a problem when the weather is good.

This is a wonderful new addition to the Blanco culinary scene. It is a chef owned and operated take-out kitchen. There is covered outdoor seating with much needed fans. I wish I had been in town long enough to taste all their food, but the Thai salad and Nan’s chicken salad sandwich were delicious. They have delectable cream and fruit pies. We ordered a piece of apple and a piece of the peach crumble. Delish. I love being able to get excellent food fast and easy.

Joe & Jessie are on it. Top shelf all the way. Upscale culinary-bending eats — associated with South Congress ATX epicurean food trucks — now on tap in Blanco Texas! What a treat! Homemade Handmade Mouthwatering Goodness: Joe’s Artisan sandwiches(on homemade breads), Jessie’s In-house Amazing Baked goods, Daily specials, Evening entrées, Soups, Salads, Dressings, Teas, Limeade, and bottled specialty sodas. The Banh Mi, Pastrami on Rye, and Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches are my faves thus far — but I expect I’ll have more as I eat my way through the menu!

I’m going to have to say that I am now addicted to the Tacchino sandwich at Josie’s Kitchen! The best sandwich ever! My second time to eat there this week and it is only Wednesday. The Cubano sandwich is authentically delicious and Monte Cristo is crazy good too. Take fronds with you the first time you go so you can all get something different and try more than one. Sandwiches are big and easy to share. Really like having the salad as a side option as well. So excited to have a new and fabulous lunch option and will look forward to trying dinner on the weekend! Nice job Josie’s Kitchen!
