Stopped by and visited with the land lord. This business is closed. It is being remodeled and will reopen as a sports bar in August 2014. What a shame. This is a highly visible, high traffic location and a good barbecue restaurant could do well here.

12 Feb 2014 5. Edge of Town BBQ, Blanco, TX — 1* It’s a new place, I saw the sign said opening soon a couple weeks ago and this week it’s open, although that’s not necessarily a good thing. Character: 3*** An old building that’s been many business over the years. You walk up to the window to order and there’s outdoor seating. Service: 3*** It was alright, nothing special, one guy at the window, another prepping food in back. Food/Quality: 1* The word is TOUGH. I was really surprised, it looked great, great deep smoke ring, nice bark, ¼″ of fat still on, tasted quite good, kinda chinese bbq rib flavoring from the rub, but TOUGH is the word. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich, which was third pound of brisket and a little sauce on a burger bun. No sides today, just this and a Big Red. Value: 1*, ~$ 7.50. The cost would have been fine it the brisket was chewable. Pit:? didn’t see it. Overall recommendation, DONOT get the sliced brisket. Maybe a chopped is okay, because again the flavor was great, but when you have to rip and chew like crazy. Okay, my jaw hurts. follow My Year of Que at
