Fresh, hot dishes and friendly service. Especially recommended if you want some good Thai to go, as the dining area is pretty small. The tofu doesn’t taste like tofu(which is a good thing) and can be confused for a tender pork.

Only popular because it is the only restaurant that serves«decent» Asian food. Wouldn’t go if I were in different areas.

This restaurant is one of my favorite in Blacksburg, I Always like to talk to the manager here and the servers here are always nice. But today i had a experience here that make me never want to come back. It’s a busy day, me and my boyfriend come and wait at the front door for a few minutes waiting for the server, and the server at the counter finish chatting with other people ask what can help, we asked if we can sit at the booth on our left; she said yes and then we wait another 10minutes no one come, there’s a waitress saw us sitting there for a long time but just never come, and I hear the server at counter said to her we are here for long time. A few minutes after, she come and ask us leave our seat because we are not waiting for her to give us the seat. But I told her the woman at counter let us sit here, then she said she will go check but they said they never let us sitting here, then ask us to go a smaller table, but when we ready to change our seat two man walk straits from the front door and sitting at the place we are going to sit. We are angry said we will leave and the that server that said ok bye bye. The whole time she is being sooooo rude and that’s my worst experience herein Blacksburg. Sometimes I went here and they gave me wrong order, i never say no word and even not mention it. But this time I think it unacceptable that server being so rude to us!

WORSTTHAIEVER, RUDEMANAGEMENT!!! This place has the worst thai curry I ever tasted! I ordered green curry which tasted really weird. When informing the server about it, he called the manager who then lectured me about how the dynamics in curry changes with spices. I never has such an awful experience with thai. If you can avoid it, better take your business somewhere else!

Food is excellent but be sure to come 30 minutes early as that’s how long you’ll be waiting to get your food. I had wanted a booth, and was told by the hostess she wasn’t sure it was possible and would much rather us sit elsewhere. If it was a busy night I would understand but as it is a sower Sunday night with two booths open I was slightly irritated. The couple that came in 20 minutes later was flat out told no. Again there were two booths open. I believe the hostess should be more considerate as to where patrons would like to sit on a non busy night.

This place is awesome!!! The egg rolls are so fresh. The pad Thai and curry are amazing. Service was very good. Can’t wait to go back!

I enjoyed the food from here. There are very limited choices when it comes to Asian food and café Mekong fills that gap. The staff are usually friendly too

Great food. Amazing service. Everyone works hard. Highly recommended. I would recommend garlic fried rice, green curry, and Singapore noodles

I’m not a huge fan of Asian cuisine, but every now and then I get a hankering for some fried rice, or maybe a spring roll. Rolling through Blacksburg enroute to the hotel, I spotted the Café Me Kong Thai and Vietnamese restaurant, and on impulse stopped in. The décor is clean and minimal, the staff are young and Caucasian, but the food is excellent. I have a small appetite so I try to order from the small plates side, but tonight I went for the Thai fried rice with chicken and had plenty to take home. Fried rice, onions, scallions, egg, pineapple and tomato, hot and served on a large platter with an iced tea. Perfect!

I’ve never have had Thai food or any Vietnamese food other than phở, so my review may be through a biased scope. I had the drunken noodles, crispy spring rolls, and the kalbi short ribs. The drunken noodles were somewhat greasy(but I’m not sure if they’re supposed to be) but the portion was always generous. The kalbi short ribs were somewhat small but very flavorful! The crispy spring rolls were so good that I could eat those for days. My boyfriend had the spicy pork belly, which was my favorite dish of all. Very fresh, spiced well, and tender. The service was always quick and the servers were always friendly. I’m definitely a repeat customer.

The Bún and Drunken Noodles were very tasty, but the service left a bit to be desired. Is it seat yourself or wait to be seated? Also, I’ve never been to a restaurant and not gotten a check, but that seems to be the practice here; when you’re finished you just go to the cashier to be given your total. If that is how they operate, great… I just would have liked to have been told in advance, «When you’re done, just come up to be checked out,» instead of sitting there feeling like we were being ignored. Service aside, the food is worth a try!

Pretty decent food here, especially since it’s the only decent Thai place(other than the awesome food truck) in Blacksburg. Price is very college friendly and the atmosphere is casual. Service could be a bit better

The food is OK! The service is the worst I’ve experienced in town. The waitress told me, my husband, and a friend we couldn’t seat in a booth(even though there were 4 booths empty) because it was peak hour and people would be coming in for lunch soon. However, 15 minutes after we sat, parties of two people were allowed to seat on the booths. I was very upset by the unfair way we were treated by the two old asian waiters that work there. Never coming back to this place!

I went to Café Mekong during lunchtime one afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. It’s small inside and there is nothing that special about the appearance but the food is pretty good. I ordered the chicken satay as an appetizer and it was okay. The chicken itself was bland and the peanut dipping sauce was lacking something. For lunch I had the Massaman curry which was awesome! It had just the right amount of spice to it and the sticky rice with it was perf. With that being said, the service wasn’t so good. Our server seemed annoyed with us and the same could be said for the other employees towards the customers. It made it awkward.

It’s nothing compared to authentic Vietnamese and Thai food from other places but this is the best you’re going to get in Blacksburg.

You’ll hardly ever see me giving a 1 star review but, Their food was… Bad. Can’t describe it in any other way. I came here before when I attended tech and I came back to see if the food has changed. Big mistake. I know it’s hard to find a Thai/viet place to eat around here but unless youre pregnant and have a craving, refrain from satisfying your craving here.

Had a decent meal there with the kids. It’s a family owned ethnic restaurant, so as long as you go there for your Viet/Thai cravings and not expecting fine dining, you’ld be satisfied. We had the garlic fried rice and the Phở with Chicken. Portions were generous and the food was to expectations. It was a bit on the bland side, but still flavorful.

I found this place on Unilocal and thank God because I was craving phở, so I walked in one very cold and busy Tuesday evening 1÷27÷15 and the hostess said to me «picking up an order?», «are you ordering to go?», «did you call and order?» No no no! I want a table for one and I want to be served please! I pointed to an empty table for four and he quickly said«no for one person, sit at a smaller table.» Lol. How rude! I almost walked out. The food? Skip the summer rolls, it’s very tiny with lettuce, skinny shrimp, and noodle inside is very cold and dry. I didn’t care for the fishy dipping sauce either. Beef phở was okay, generous portion size, I have had worst and I have had much much better phở. But then again think, you are in Blacksburg, where else can you get phở?

I wish the options for spiciness were more than just«non-spicy,» «spicy,» and«Thai-spicy.» …What if I want just a hint of spice, but not so much spice that my nose runs? Anyway, aside from that, my takeout lunch from here was decent; I was lame and ordered pad Thai, but my friend ordered the interesting squash summer special. It was flavorful, though I wish it were more complex and that there were a more reasonable portion of protein(in this case, chicken). My pad Thai was average, I wish it had had some more ingredients, I feel like it was lacking some stuff that other comparable dishes have had… though I don’t remember exactly. It just seemed too noodle-heavy. I will visit again and revise my review to be more precise.
