Make sure you seek out ODB. It is harder to find because it is tucked away in a shopping center but it is certainly worth it. Soups are remarkable as are the quiches.

Terrible layout for tables. Low quality sausage. No salt and pepper shakers on table. If you want ketchup then you have to squeeze it from packets, as if you’re eating at a fast food restaurant. Also: what bakery gives you nondairy creamer cups instead of real half and half? Food was late – not all orders came out at same time, and no apologies made. Oh yeah: Minute Maid OJ? Worst possible OJ out there. Blacksburg deserves a better breakfast!

My sister and I were looking around for a way to kill time while we were waiting for my brother, and we are so glad we ran into this place. Best black and white mocha I have ever had, and my sister loved her caramel macchiato. The pastries looked and tasted amazing. I had never had a macaron before but had to try one and I regret nothing. We are taking some back home to the family and will definitely be back! Not a cheap place but worth the money and trip.

Good food and brunch with some delicious pastries and cakes as well. Looking forward to trying their dinner menu some days, since it looks pretty tasty and fancy. You can also buy whole cakes and bread loaf to go!

White chocolate strawberry cake! Go buy it form them now! It’s an amazing cake they make. It’s actually the only one I’ve tried from this place but it’s so good I literally decided to write a review for it. I haven’t tried other foods here but they look appetizing. Not only that, but the atmosphere of the place is very comforting. The people look very friendly and it has some nice outdoor seating.

Friendly staff, yummy bakery items and nice breakfast options. We ordered from the back of the menu, a waffle and two egg special, and both were good but not outstanding … Waffle was thick but soft, my egg order came with delicious Portuguese bread toast but they were out of their homemade strawberry jam :(. Nice atmosphere, outdoor eating option and seems popular with locals

Menus are all on chalk boards so they are hard to read and some of them you can’t even see. The chicken salad was ok. The sandwich was bland and did not taste very fresh. You would be better off going to the subway across the street. At subway there is a much better variety of sandwich ingredients that actually taste ok.

They did my wedding cake and it got lots of compliments. The price was fair, the cake was really really good(we did 3 tiers with 3 different kinds). Aurore, who arranged things, was an absolute doll and dream to work with. She’s amazing! We live in Denver, but this summer I have had breakfast in Blacksburg 6 times(4 were at ODB, one at Gillies and one at home). That says a lot in my book. GREATFOOD!

Love the food and the atmosphere. Not cheap but not expensive either. Great waffles! They usually have several delicious types of coffee. Busy on Saturdays but Ive never felt rushed by the staff.

Best breakfast place in Blacksburg! Baked french toast when it’s available is the way to go.

This place is exceptional. Want a pastry? Omelette? Quiche? Sandwich? They have it all This restaurant is. Deli, bakery and diner in one. I am attaching pics of the quiche Loraine my daughter had and my blue cheese, bacon, mushroom and avocado egg white omelette(i know… Too many calories). I Have TWOCOMPLAINTS. 1) its hard to keep the calories down. And 2) the BIGGESTFOUL, the coffee is watered down bad trip to the 1950’s. The italians and starbucks taught us how to make real coffe products. This is why Daily B didnt get a(5*).

I held my June 2015 wedding in Blacksburg and used ODB for my wedding cake, my bridal luncheon and breakfast delivery the day of my wedding and all were absolutely perfect! Working with Aurore to design my wedding cake was a fantastic experience and guests raved for days about how delicious my Red Velvet cake was. I can not wait to get back to Blacksburg to eat their delicious food again!

Wow! I wished I lived closer! Fresh and healthy food couldn’t have been better. We enjoyed eating our breakfast on the patio. My husbands omlette was creative with a creative veggie combo and my eggs florintine has a wonderful holandaise sauce and lovely green spinach. The jam that came with the toast was a nice little extra. Will definately eat hear again when in Blacksburg.

A hidden gem of Blacksburg that not many people know about. A local favorite for budget friendly brunch/breakfast, most of these items are $ 8 and below. You get your money’s worth for the amount of food they give you. Of their brunch/breakfast menu items, their star platters are their hashbrown or corned beef hash breakfast platters. Their omelettes are decent sized as well if you are looking for something more on the healthy side. There are also a lot of options for pastries from macarons to cupcakes and pies. This is always a must stop when I’m in Blacksburg and craving brunch/breakfast, along with Gillie’s.

Great place for brunch/lunch! I had the tomato basil soup and asparagus quiche; both were delicious. They let me come in an hour early(during a busy lunch) and work while I awaited my colleagues.

Hands down the best place to get desserts in Blacksburg. Brunch/breakfast is really good too. They usually have lunch combos so you get a two or three course meal for a reasonable price. Their dinners offer things you usually wouldn’t see in a place like Blacksburg, so definitely worth checking out the menu that changes pretty often. They’ve had escargot, duck, frog legs, etc. Try to go when they have live music and in the summer so you can sit outside. It’s a really cute restaurant but it gets busy and crowded during rush. They don’t have outlets if you want to just sit in there to have a coffee and do work. If you like fresh bread, this is the best you find around here, in my opinion. Baguettes sell out pretty early in the day, every day!

Really great atmosphere and food. For 6 $ I got a HUGE piece of Lorraine Quiche. The quiche was very light and airy and not heavy at all. But the size made it very filling. My friend got the Croque Monsieur for 6 $ too and it was. this big ham sandwich topped with an amazing bechamel sauce. I loved their bakery pastries. I had my first macaron here(honey lavendar) and it was very yummy. I ordered the chateaux briand cake, it was. expensive($ 3.95) for a tiny piece but it was okay. A bit too odd of a mixture of flavors. Overall, a great place to go if you are in town to visit like I was.

Excellent baked goods, friendly service, and great dinner menu. After making the rounds, I’ve come to find that ODB has the best value on breakfast and brunch in the area. Are there fancier places? Yes. Are there cheaper places? Of course. ODB is the perfect middle ground and I go there often for their hashbrown or corned beef hash breakfast platters. Lunch is great too, though the afternoon rush can get out-of-control. There is only one cashier to handle all lunch orders and the going can be slow. At dinnertime, ODB rolls out the white tablecloths and black bow-ties for their«bistro» clientele. I was blown away by the bistro cuisine; both food quality and preparation were at the very top of what Blacksburg has to offer. It’s a little pricey, but less expensive than its competitors downtown. The café décor is a bit mismatched to the high-end dinner menu and service, but the atmosphere is still romantic and casual. Perfect for a date or family dinner.

I met a friend for lunch on a busy Tuesday afternoon and was happily surprised by the wide variety of food options. I enjoyed the Tuna/Avocado salad with a small beet salad and my friend savored the chicken salad and tomato bisque soup. Both were delicious! The service was efficient and friendly and we lingered over lunch on the outside eating area where we saw lots of friends from Virginia Tech picking up a «to-go» lunch. We then chose a selection of desserts to take with us for friends and co-workers. We seemed to arrive at the dessert counter during a small«rush» but the service was well organized and patrons were treated in a friendly manner while making selections and placing orders. This is a place I’ll return to and will order cakes and pies for showers and parties!

Honestly, go to Gillie’s, Mill Mountain or Bollo’s… ODB is a waste of time. After the manager responded to my last review citing renovation as the reason for the embarrassingly bad food quality, I figured I should give ODB the benefit of the doubt and try again. I visited about a week ago on the way to run some errands in Christiansburg. My friend and I were in a rush, so we ordered two bagels sandwiches with lox and cream cheese to go. I had eaten a comparable sandwich in Manhattan literally two days before, so I figure I have a reasonable basis for comparison. It took them FIFTEEN minutes to toast, gather, and package my ‘deconstructed’ bagel sandwich(see photo). I ordered my sandwich to go, in part due to the term«Sandwich» in the name; I would have liked it to have been assembled, that is, for my cream cheese, lox, etc. to be ON the bagel, as it is very difficult to simultaneously drive and make a sandwich.(Also, perhaps only noteworthy for me, I never asked for my bagel to be toasted. I have noticed that this is common in states south of the NY tri-state area. I don’t want you to toast my bagel, unless it’s stale and you’re toasting it to cover that up…) Anyway, I am extremely disappointed that the service is so terrible at ODB, and that the food is so unremarkable, as I recently moved to a house ~3 blocks away, and had hoped to have an easily accessible & convenient breakfast spot. Oh well.
