Bourbon Street Cafe & Buffet

Went to the breakfast buffet. Luckily we had free coupons as the food was cold, greasy and few selections. The coffee was week and pee warm, the service was non existent. I would not return even for free and threw out the next set of coupons sent in the mail. Go somewhere else, anywhere else just not here, awful.

Frankly I don’t really agree with fellow reviewers on this casinos buffet. I found it comparable to the Amaristar’s in quality and freshness, the staff was also extremely helpful and polite. Our waitress Angela, went above and beyond by attending to our needs in a timely fashion. Our food was at a three star level, the crab legs were exceptional, the prime rib was tangy and flavorful. My wife and parents raved about the BBQ pulled pork and the desserts (chocolate cake and cherry pie). We will return to this quiet place on the third floor in the very near future.

I ate here twice, and only once was on purpose… that was the 1^st time. We came here the 2^nd time, not realizing that we have already been here. Obviously we eat at too many buffets in the Hills… or is it that we gamble too much? Ah, semantics.
I am sorry to say that the buffet was unimpressive. We were there on a Saturday evening and there were only a handful of people. I mean, when have you seen a buffet deserted on a Saturday evening up in Black Hawk? Especially one that serves crab legs?
Its not that the food was BAD, is just was too plan, and bland. Boring. They had all the staples from mashed potatoes to ham and salad bar items and dessert, but nothing really tasted great. And I tried a little bit of everything.
I think they need to rethink the food they are serving and find a better way. I have had great buffets, so I know it can be done… they have a lot of missed opportunity here.

Both the food and the service were better than the other reviews. I did not get the buffet. I had a chicken sandwich and a beer, both of which were fine, but this is not a place I would go out of my to visit again.

Won’t go back. Service is terrible. Food is worse. No selection and everything was old and cold. Manager Larry was rude to us and then we spent 30 minutes watching him yell at an employee. Worst buffet in Blackhawk. You couldn’t pay me to eat there again.

I wholeheartedly agree with the last post! Ate at the new buffet last Saturday with free coupons and would not return again even for free! Very poor selection, cold entrees, and most items were empty although it was only 6 PM! I can’t believe they would open a new buffet with food and service this poor, what a joke!
