Halcyon Day Spa

In all my travels this spa ranks as the worst by far in customer service. From signing in to signing out the experience was very disappointing. Casey is very unprofessional and is not the person any business would want greeting their guests. I see the same comment from a review six months ago and it’s hard to believe she continues to be the first impression you have of the spa. Checking out was an even worse experience with Casey. She is extremely rude and disrespectful.
The nail technician was a «chatty Kathy» as my aunt referred to her and therefore made what should have been a relaxing experience for our girls day out a disappointment.
The drinking water in the waiting room was warm and when the nail tech came for me she did not introduce herself nor say hello.
I’ve stayed at The Ross Bridge for past business trips and considered returning to their spa on this visit but since I was staying at the Marriott downtown chose this spa instead since it was
closer. HUGE mistake. If a management person is reading this review, if you do nothing else besides correcting the problem you have at your reception desk it would be a step in the right direction.
Lovely spa inside but VERY disappointing and VERY unprofessional!

THEY SUCKED, ONLY GOT STAR BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE AN OPTION. CASEY WAS RUDE AS H*LL, Lahoma didn’t try to engage she was just there! My feet still look like yesterday for 60.00. And Alayana was very friendly, she at least tried to help. I am never going back. 186.00 and nothing to show for it.

My permanent eyeliner was touched up by Sonya … I explained before she started that I wanted it thicker … A waste of Money !! Not thicker !!! I’ve called multiple times with no response … Left messages. No call back ! I was even willing to pay more for her time … POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!

Well I’ve paid for my wife to come to this location a few times and she loves it. She keeps coming back to get manicures and pedicures! Seems like I can’t go wrong by treating her to this place and they also carry the Jack Black line of male face scrubs, shaving cream, body washes, etc. not many places in Birmingham carry this line of male products!

Jessica does my nails there and I absolutely love her. She treats me with care and my nails always look amazing when She’s through.

I have used this spa for a few years. The therapists (especially Matt and Hi) are very good. If not for their skill, I would choose another facility as the customer service and attention to detail at the front desk is consistently disappointing. It is unfortunate as I tend to go there less and less due to poor customer service.

I only go here to see one person, to get the same three services. And I will not go anywhere else.
About every two months I get to see a very lovely woman named Hi to get my brows waxed and then tinted and to get my naturally clear eyelashes (yes, completely clear– welcome to the world of being a redhead) tinted. I have extremely sensitive skin and eyes, so Hi always schedules a little extra time for me because she knows I will need it to make sure all of the tinting cream is off of my eyes before I leave. She even keeps bottles of eye wash on hand for all of her clients to make sure they are comfortable before they leave.
I have gone to Hi for at least five years, probably longer, and she remembers me, my stories and what I’m up to in life. And I love hearing about her journey (she is originally from China and has lived in Germany and can tell you ALL about it) and all of the amazing places she has been, and also about how much she loves America and Birmingham.
I can’t speak for the other services Halcyon provides, but when I walk up the stairs next to the Gap at the Summit, sign in, and then head to the tea room to unwind before my appointment, it is always relaxing, peaceful, and the results are perfect. Plus, that tea room is nice– they have water with limes in and an array of tea, coffee, and snacks (and the requisite magazines, comfy chairs and «spa music») to keep you satisfied until it’s your turn… Lovely!

Pam is by far the best hair stylist I have ever seen. She only works Friday and Saturday but the wait is worth it.
