Terrible experience TODAY. server gave me brown grits and never checked on me no engagement, Hash brown was very over cooked, as I sat she piece mailed my food. Grits first then bacon the cheese egg plate. Clearly it was cold and just overall not good. Only redeeming piece was a good pecan waffle

Last time I was in a Waffle House was shortly after 9⁄11. I recently dropped in on one on the Gulf Coast. BTW, I counted on a map, and there are about 30 in a 40 mile stretch along the coasts of MS and LA. Wow. I sat at the counter, sipping my Joe, and indulged in some bacon and eggs, cooked as ordered, with a smattering of cheese on the hash browns. If you haven’t been to a Waffle House, they are a chain across the South, with diminutive facilities, and a menu focused on breakfast, a few sandwiches, and a couple of entrees. If you’re so inclined, you can even get a T-bone there for around $ 10. Breakfasts run in the $ 3-$ 4 range. The chain is particularly proud of their hash browns, which you can ordered«smothered, covered, chunked, diced, peppered, capped, topped, or country.» The descriptions all refer to different add-on ingredients, and the taters are available in three different portion sizes. They have not come up with a word(unless there is a secret menu) which would refer to ordering the hash browns with all of those additions. They should. My breakfast and coffee were just fine, they are big on consistency, and as such, a very dependable road stop. They have over 2000 locations in 25 states; they started in 1955 in Georgia. The company hasn’t avoided controversy over the years, with a couple of religious and racial issues receiving some attention, but it seems behind them.

Come on really? It’s Waffle House. You’ll either love it like I do or hate it. Always a chance someone’s fighting in one of these joints. They are so American.

Went for my waffle house fix and this was the first bad experience I’ve had! Waitress never checked up on us once, didnt ask if there was anything else we needed as in refills for our coffee or if we needed water. Food was ok, but not its best like Ive had in the past!

We just started to come down for Crusin the Coast car show. Everywhere we go out for food is always packed! This Waffle House is the most organized I have ever seen. We walked into a packed house but we were greeted with a big smile and warm welcoming. We waited in line for 10 mins but they offered us drinks and menus which I loved. I was in need of my coffee ASAP! Once we were at our table our waitress was very attentive and sweet the whole time. We watched as cooks moved quickly but efficiently to get all the orders out in a timely matter. The store was very clean during the huge rush the whole time I was in the building. Overall, I would highly recommend this Waffle House for a great start to your day :)

Food was normal waffle house fare. Ambience was normal crowd of characters complete with ankle tracking devices. Fly’s were a real turn off bringing into question the cleanliness of the entire restaurant.

Waffle Houses dot the Mississippi gulf coast. The quality of waitstaff varies – some are good, some are lousy – but the venues are always a little unkempt, a little flyblown, and the menu is always the same. Although Waffle House offers sandwiches and such, it specializes in breakfast food. The food isn’t memorably bad, but it isn’t memorably good, and on the whole I’d call it a «Greasy Spoon.» You can forget about healthy eating here, and the clientel is pretty low class too.

Observed the cook touching raw meat, then touching other food. She put her gloves on at one point but did not wear them the whole time. The bacon was overcooked. They press their burgers while cooking, which makes it dry. Clear plastic cups are stained brown. White plates are worn and scraped with black marks. Employees sitting at the bar talking loudly and laughing. One was smoking. The cook went outside at one point and came up to the window holding a puppy?! Another employee was discussing how Waffle House is not where she plans to work long term, etc. Overall weird experience. Makes me not want to return to Waffle House.

I love breakfast so during my stay in Biloxi, we ate here 3 days in a row for brunch because it was walking distance from our hotel. It’s breakfast food, what more can I say? It was good, the workers are super warm & friendly, & it’s affordable. Eating here 3 days in a row was too much for me but I’d definitely go back if I ever do go back one day :)

Today it was a little louder and busier. Breakfast can be slow and service with southern hospitality warm and friendly. This is not a place for picky eaters due to consistency issues and how often the faces change. So if you want something cooked a certain way or need something changed let them know ahead of time. At waffle house you can get breakfast or lunch at any time and most are open 24⁄7. 3 stars is your average rating at this location: it’s not the best I’ve seen or the worst. So enjoy this location on the beach then head over to Shaggy’s for lunch or dinner. H1

So these Waffle Houses seemingly are at every corner, or at every other mile in Biloxi. I decided to try one within a week of my stay. Went with a couple of guys out to this Waffle House next to the Holiday Inn I briefly stayed. It was a smaller Waffle House, we sat at the bar and I ordered the grits, two eggs over easy, and waffles. Waffles were pretty good, crispy, good flavor. I would come back and order it again – perhaps in a different Waffle House. The cool thing is they’re 24 hours. The one thing that ruined it for me is the cigarette smoke. I saw a gentleman in a far corner puffing away; I saw a mom smoking while two of her kids were eating. Well, coming from CA, this is something I might see in a Las Vegas casino. As someone who once smoked in the past, this would be a cool place to have breakfast – not anymore.

I was highly disappointed with my experience. I figured because there were SO many Waffle Houses they must be great. I went after a few hours of slots at the casino paired with a handful of free drinks because I needed to get some solid food in me. Which I think is the main reason the Waffle House’s are still in business, it’s dirt cheap food for the late night munchies. I got a waffle, because HELLO: «Waffle House»…they specialize in waffles! I guess in my mind I was picturing a big fluffy Belgium waffle. To my dismay, that is not what I got. It was flatter than a pancake with tire marks on it. It went down okay but my taste buds craved something more. However, I sure did get what I paid for because it was only $ 2.65! So I guess if your just looking for a late night munchie/cheap place to sober up… this would be five stars. It reminds me of a George Webbs in a way, it has a diner feel to it but dirtier.
