El Pollo Loco

Love the food here. The restaurant is clean. Drive thru line is fast and sometimes they accept more than one coupon! I would give 5 stars if they did that all of the time.

I am surprised a place called El Pollo Loco could run out of chicken but that’s what happened.

Long wait, good food! Y’all know what el pollo loco is like. I don’t need to explain for y’all this time. You get the deal.

Came in this evening after snowboarding all day it’s 5:08 on Thursday. I grabbed 3 tacos al carbon combo. Before I head back down the hill.
Everything was a normal el pollo loco experience nice staff the drive threw was busy so me an my friends came inside.

So I ordered my food it took a normal amount of time, while I was waiting I got some green sauce an some pico del gayo for my tacos .
The Pico is the best pico I’ve seen in ANY EL POLLO LOCO! Really looks fresh an delicious!
Once I got my tacos I started chewing down! I got one bite of the taco an it lit me up! It was so spicy! But I continued eating it’s normally spicy but this was on another level I was sweating an my lips were literally on fire. I grabbed some horchata thinking the milk would tame the spice it did not I had to tell somebody this was kicking my butt it said medium but this was another level!
I walked up to the counter an told a gentleman (Jake the manager) it was really spicy he explained why it was an instantly sprung into action an got me sour crème an it helped so much a really great manager a really great response you can’t buy service like that.
I know I’m a wimp when it comes to spicy an he didn’t have to do anything about it but he did an I appreciate it so much!

First things first, I’m picky, both with service and food quality. Having said that, I’m literally in love with this El Pollo branch! Was at big bear with a group of friends over the weekend and we decided to get some chicken. The place was packed and we really didn’t have any hope of getting speedy, let alone, good service. But to our surprise, things went perfectly. The food was amazing. and the manager, Jake, was super welcoming. He even made sure to check up on us (since we were a large group) to make sure everything was well and we were happy with the service/​food. Jake made the place feel less like a fast food franchise and more like a family-​owned cozy diner experience. Will definitely be back next time in Big Bear!

This has got to be the BEST El Pollo I have ever eaten at. Maybe the elevation makes it better? I don’t know, but the salsa was made delicious (not watery) and spicy! The food was so fresh.

Chicken is always amaze-​balls. Prefer EPL even over «fine» establishments. The marinade is heaven-​made!

Honestly best food and best service! Every Time I go in they always come and ask if everything is good. The management seems to be doing really well. And as goes for the food their chicken is perfect!

Churros were very stale and hard. Those suckers must have been DAYS old !!! On the other hand, the rest of the food was excellent !

We ate here on Saturday. The man with the accent (European) was somewhat rude. The people working there seemed confused. I was originally charged $ 50 for my order that really was only $ 35.
I was told to choose 3 sides. When I was already rung up, and waiting, the gal comes over to me and asks me what two sides I ordered. I said I was told it included 3 sides. She told me, ok– it’s only 2 but I will give you 3.
When picking up my order, I was again told it only came with two sides. Ugh!
Anyways, manager came over and made a scene. It was a bowl of corn, that I wanted. I would’ve paid for it. They kept confusing me. Because I was with my two little Grandsons, I didn’t want to be silly over a bowl of corn. The manager acted like it was my mistake. What a silly mess.
The food was good however. So, I give them 4 stars and a half. Employees need to be re-​schooled on what family meals come with what sides. That’s all.

Great service considering its a fast food joint. The staff kept it very clean, manager Jake, provided great service and great food of course. Perfect quick nice family meal!

Service was good but the place was a mess when we arrived their salsa staion was dirty plus they were missing items and the floor was really dirty. Their fountain drinks were awful as well I’m definitely not going back to this place again.

They didn’t allow us to have two transactions in one car, so we ordered both in the car and inside. Stupid in my opinion.

I drove through and the guy was so nice and pointed out some new menu items. Had a very tasty burrito for under 500 calories! Really friendly staff and quick service!

I have been a regular at this particular location for over a year now. I have seen an outstanding turn around since it has been under new management. I always receive excellent customer service from both the day and night shift. Great environment and good quality food. Definitely a place you’ll want to come back to.

Maybe it’s because this is a small town, but the staff members were very friendly here. This location is kept very clean.
There was even a girl who was going from table to table with a tray of wet naps, tooth picks, etc. It was impressive service for a fast food place.

Yikes! Very bad food. I have tried several times and they seem to always have issues with keeping the El Pollo loco recipes! Chicken always is missing a main ingredient.
Last visit they served black beans that did not even taste like El pollo loco black beans. So strange! Customer service is good, they are very kind and friendly!

I am a huge El Pollo Loco fan. I love going here and getting a semi healthy meal on the fly. I was shocked when I walked in this location. Awesome fireplace in the middle of the dining room. This place was also super clean. Woo Hoo– I love when you can notice right away when a restaurant is super sparkly clean.
I ordered my normal Large Loco Salad, BRC and Taco El Carbon. It was fresh and tasty. The BF got the 3 piece meal with rice and cole slaw that he seemed to enjoy, his plate was empty.
This place was packed full of locals. Nice to know that locals eat here often and not just tourist.

Just what I expected and a plus was the wood burning fireplace in the center to warm me up in sub freezing temps

Okay, not sure if I feel like describing in detail, a normal «Randy B» review, the ambiance, the items I ate with description, etc. After all, no El Pollo Loco transports me into Chicken Heaven. But, I will say…
* I enjoyed my 2-​piece, white meat, combo meal with 2 sides. Everything was very good, and the chicken is the same as you’ll find at any location, great and consistent flavor, and cooked perfectly.
* The service was the slowest I’ve ever experienced for any El Pollo Loco I’ve ever been! They admitted being short-​staffed, but are so over-​the-​top nice… I wasn’t upset whatsoever.
* The fancy soda machine with the 500 billion flavor choices is KING.
* There is plenty of parking to accommodate.
* Drive-​thru available.
So, would I go back? Sure. Do I expect a bit of a wait, yep.
