You feel like royalty when you come here. I came for the first time last week and it was am incredible experience. The salads are so amazing that I forgot to take a picture to post! So good!!! I did manage to take a picture of the ahi appetizer though! Wow

Not as good as I expected. The fries were cold & food took forever to come out & we went there at 5PM when it wasn’t even crowded. But the outdoor terrace is nice.

The food at Fred’s is a 4⁄5. I’ve had Estelle’s chicken soup, an omelette with vegetables special, and the Blackberry Crumb Pie. Fred’s Chopped Chicken Salad is great as well. The soup was a bit bland, but that may be why they mention that one of it’s purposes is to keep you«thin.» It does help cure colds though! My recent experience was as follows: We arrived at 11:30a.m. with reservations on a Friday and we were the only four people there. We asked to sit outside and the hostess had to let us know that we must be out of there by 1:20p.m. if we wanted to sit outside. This was all she said to us before seating us at the table. Her comment sort of put a sour taste in my mouth for a minute. It took us 45 minutes to get our food even though we were the only people there. When the food was put on the table, they brought some of the incorrect items, but thankfully our kind, aware waitress(with red hair) worked everything out and food turned out great. I really liked Barney’s Greengrass: the interior décor, the New York Jewish Deli style food, the vibe. I guess this is a new style, but I probably won’t head back there anytime soon.

It’s a very trendy brunch spot on Sundays and sometimes you see a celebrity from the 80’s hiding behind large designer glasses. The service is great and the view is beautiful. The food is sometimes hit and miss so hence one star taken away. But I must say that the food always arrives in a timely fashion even on their busiest brunch hours. The trio of bagels is basically silver dollar sized bagels that are hard(almost stale) and not easy to digest. I guess they don’t expect anyone to eat carbs in Beverly Hills so they don’t bother with making them soft or normal sized. The waiters come around and ask you to chose one piece of bread for their basket so not sure if management tells them to ration the bread. The Emilia Romagna pizza is quite tasty in flavor but the crust sometimes comes out rubbery. The Freds vegan salad is the best thing on the menu but sometimes they skimp on the avocado, although the salad portion is enormous. The turkey burger is very heavy and too thick for my liking so I can never finish a full portion. Turkey sandwhich was delicious and the Vongole was very good as well. The desserts are always fresh and delicious so no complaints on that. One thing that’s a pet peeve of mine, the noise of the chairs(in the inside dining room) moving back and forth scraping the floor is like nails on a chalk board. Anytime someone moves their chair I wince. Not sure why no one hasn’t noticed that before. They need to put rubber on the bottom of the chair legs. But thankfully the noise of the busy brunch crowd usually drowns out the worst of it. One big plus, we have a toddler that we bring for brunch and the staff is wonderful with accomodating us with a high chair and anything else we need food wise and clean up wise for her.

After doing some shopping at Barney’s New York, my wife and I went to the top floor and had lunch at Fred’s. What a pleasant surprise. The place is gorgeous. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and one of the hostesses took us to a table outside. The view is magnificent. Our waitress was knowledgeable and patient and we ordered a Palm Springs shrimps salad, a Beverly Hills club sandwich, a Trouble Maker cocktail and an iced tea. Everything was very good and fresh and my cocktail was excellent. Our waitress was attentive during the whole time and the manager came to our table and asked us if we were satisfied. Great experience, will be back soon.

Today was my first time at Fred’s since Barney’s Greengrass left. We got there around 12(which was really early) and we had a table outside and it was too quiet so we went to the bar which was great. The bartender, Melissa, was attentive, friendly and it helped that she likes the same drink I do(tequila on the rocks with lime). We didn’t have to go to work so we could drink. We decided to share the Fred’s Chopped Chicken Salad and the Emilia Romagna pizza. Both were delicious. When 1:00 came around, several people we know walked in so that was fun to see them. Service was great. Great place if you are in Beverly Hills. Pricey, but if you are in Barney’s, then you know that or know what to expect. Fifth floor. Definitely going back.

Fred, Fred, Fred. How you have ruined my beloved Barney’s experience. Used to be, you’d go to Barney’s to get your shopping on and then retire to the roof deck for a little platter of the sable or some nice whitefish salad, a lovely glass of wine, the view, the people watching, the great service, the view and those fabulous old calacatta marble bathrooms where everybody was communal and chatty because it felt like an elegant, old school department store ladies room. Well, now that Fred is in and Greengrass is gone, so is everything else about this place except for the view. I’ve been three times, hoping that each mediocre experience with food and service was a fluke, but now I must admit, Fred is a big disappointment. The new awnings are nice, but the deck feels less open now. each visit I have had stupid, slow servers(when asked about the rose wines on the menu I was told that two of them were«sweet. pretty much the same» and different from the French one from«Province» –that would be «Provence» for those of you wondering). The food is now«meh” – unmemorable in either a good or bad way, and overpriced for what you get from a quality and ingredients perspective, even when you consider the location. And the remodeled bathrooms are upscale hotel bland now instead of beautiful, if perhaps a little quirky. Much sadness :(

The food is good but its not worth going here. I have to give this place two stars because the staff is extremely rude and always make you wait even with a reservation and more than 10 empty tables. I usually don’t care about service because food is usually the most important but this place is a disgrace. They need to learn from places like spago who try to accommodate their guests as best as possible. The manager heard about what had happened and came up to our table apologizing.

Food needs HELP. Been twice in the last few weeks and it’s just not getting better, really makes you miss the quality food from B Greengrass. The chicken soup is far too salty(and that’s coming from me, a salt freak). Table next to me sent it back too. They served spoiled items in their salad. Fresh counts. Chef quality counts.

The service and food are moderate. We had the chicken Cobb and caprese salad– both were flavorless. One plus is the view, but you can get that everywhere nowadays. Mariposa @ Neimans is a way better option! Not impressed.

Service here was excellent and I loved the ambience! I ordered probably the healthiest thing on the menu– the vegan salad, so taste wise it was going to be full on veggies. My boyfriend got the pizza with egg on it which was so tasty! Next time I go back I’d be more adventurous with what we ordered but overall it was such a great dining experience and we got free shaved ice for dessert!!!

It’s a chic lunch spot with a great crowd. The food is simple flavors and healthy. It is a bit over priced for what it is. My husband is vegetarian and they had tons of options. They had a vegan bolognese that he enjoyed. I would recommend The chicken chopped salad it’s a good mixture of ingredients and great dressing. The turkey burger is a bit heavier but yummy and they use their own homemade ketchup. I also enjoyed the burrata tomato salad but it wasn’t super extraordinary.

Little spendy but let’s be honest if you’re at Barney’s in Beverly Hills you can afford it. The homemade pesto pasta is delicious and a perfect lunch item. The ice cream is a perfectly refreshing end to this delicious meal!

Decent eats… salads, nice view if you sit outside… For some reason everytime I go, I have to continiously ask for a water refill… Other then this, the food is ok… Nothing fantastic. But good. Its the shopping afterwards that gives it that extra star. hahah.

AMBIANCE: 5 stars Great view of Los Angeles without the typical hustle and bustle of having Sunday brunch in LA. I see LA, but I don’t really feel like I’m in it… do I need to make sense? No. Really glad this a place wasn’t packed and that we got outdoor seating. SERVICE: 4 stars I could have sworn we had the young wynona rider as our waitress — but I think she has been banned from most department stores… So it wasn’t her — but our server was incredibly entertaining, funny and accommodating despite the fact that she got absolutely no buser/bus boy support. I could complain about the lack of busers coming to clear our table of dishes we already cleared and the lack of bread service but our waitress was really upbeat, funny and on point. FOOD: 2 stars Nothing extraordinary — but clean classic staples. Not much of a selection but — yo ! Hurry it up — it’s not like you had to cook the fish in the fish plate. Overall 3.5 but I’ll round up.

Fred’s is a roof top restaurant at the newly remodeled Barney’s New York(on the 5th floor). I really like the idea that now with the addition of this restaurant, Barney has become the one stop shop for a great shopping experience. The store is beautifully decorated with modern flare. Few comfy booths available with view facing the mountain. The view up there is amazing, not to mention the fresh breeze coming from the open patio area. I can easily picture myself spending the rest of the afternoon being there. Food is great, we had Tuna Tartar, Grilled Hen of the woods Mushrooms, Grilled Shrimp with Lime and Ginger, Margherita Pizza and Fred’s Chopped Chicken Salad. They all pretty good with nice presentation, especially the Fred’s Chopped Chicken Salad, I have to be honest. With the red dressing, it doesn’t look so appetizing, but it tastes really refreshing and flavorful. The price is bit over priced. Lunch for 4 is about $ 140. Service is bit on the slower end, I don’t think the staff is well trained yet.

I’m just mad that it’s not Barney Greengrass to be honest. This one isn’t bad, but it’s pretty much exactly the same as every other trendy restaurant in Beverly Hills. There is nothing here that one cannot get multiple times over by walking a few blocks in any direction.

Replacing Barney Greengrass, I came for the same lox and bagels. It wasn’t the same, but still very good. The regular menu only has a «nova salmon plate», but the weekend brunch menu has a couple more options. has the regular menu and my pic shows the additional weekend brunch items. I preferred the smoky sturgeon which is only offered on the weekends over the super mild cured salmon. The platter came with two cream cheeses. I liked the cream cheese with minced bell peppers rather than the chive version. The sliced red tomato was good considering tomatoes are not in season. The light, pastry-like bagels came in both plain and seeded varieties.

The best thing about Fred’s beverly hills is the view and the fries. That’s about it. Actually their white cotton napkins are soooo super soft. love them! Linguine vongole was extremely bland. Their Spaghetti and meatballs was the worst I ever had… sooo bland that it only tasted like pasta with no pasta sauce. I also ordered a hamburger medium but got one super well done. Their chicken soup is ok and probably the only thing I felt tasted normal. Staff looks pretty unhappy too maybe because they know they are serving substandard food. Two thumbs down here. Freds in NYC Barneys is 10000x better.

Short Review(because there’s nothing more to say): Great ambience on entry. Excellent food and well priced for what you get. From Hostess to waiter to bussing staff friendly and capable. All of the foregoing in BH with a view from the patio.

This place is pretty good. Make sure you make a reservation. And that you are not against overpaying a little. Not considered overly expensive, but it is overpriced($ 30 for salmon dish). The view is amazing. Try to sit on the patio. Out at least get a window viea. The food is also delish. I had the pan seared salmon. The skin was perfectly crispy. My fiancé had the Freds pasta. Garlicky and yummy. We sat at the bar and the server was very helpful in guiding us. You should try this place at least one time. Preferably with a date.

Out with Barneys Greengrass and In with Fred’s! We came here for lunch and sat on the patio. We had a great time. I split the chicken salad and the breakfast burrito with my friend and we were very happy with the food. I was slightly perturbed that they would have tables right in front of the elevator but they gladly moved me. I suggest coming here. The staff was super friendly.

I wasn’t sure how good Fred’s was going to be after the long and unclear future of the space at Barneys was put on hold. When we came in the restaurant was packed with people and lots of light. For once it was actually popular to sit inside rather than the patio. We ordered a few drinks and went for the bagels and lox and the shrimp salad. The house made lox and sturgeon platter was my favorite dish. It was amazing! The fish melted in your mouth and I liked the flavored cream cheese it came with. The bagels were small and great for a lighter lunch. After all we are in Barneys and are trying to fit into those extra skinny jeans after! Expect a large portion from the The Palm Springs shrimp salad. I would recommend to share it with a friend. Get the dressing on the side for a lighter lunch! Can’t wait to come back for another fabulous meal!

Oh Fred, you’ve done right by me! I came here for lunch this week and was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful views, new menu and friendly service. I arrived to an overwhelmed hostess, as a slew of LA’s best dressed lined up, nay, stampeded one another to fight over the hottest table at this new lunch time scene. I patiently waited my turn and gave my name for the reservation… Reservations are a must as many were turned away or quoted hours wait without a reservation. We sat outside on the patio, enjoyed looking down over Beverly Hills and placed our orders. We started with hen of the woods mushrooms that came with arugula, Parmesan cheese, and balsamic. The mushrooms had great flavor with a slight char. For my main I ordered the shrimp appetizer and I really enjoyed it. Three shrimp came on a skewer over a grain salad. The penne di farro was also fantastic. The vegan, twelve veggie tomato sauce was bursting with favor and did not have me missing meat for one second. The menu is huge with an array of salads, sandwiches, pastas, pizzas and freshly pressed juices. Whoever designed this menu, definitely did so with the Angeleno in mind. So long Greengrass, there is a new man in town, and he is all the rage. Welcome Fred, please stay a while.
