Shu Uemura at Barney’s New York

This review is specifically for the cosmetics brand Shu Uemura and not the counter within Barney’s. i just got home from a 12 hour shift and the shu uemura liquid eyeliner is the only thing that has EVER stayed true to form and away from my bottom lids. I’ve pretty much used every eyeliner out there from flakey korean brands to Stila’s ‘smudge pots’ and Make Up Forevers ‘aqua eyes.’ I am also a huge fan of the oil cleanser in ‘fresh’ because it removes any remnants of make up or oil in just one easy step. Don’t just take my word for it. Ask for some samples and I bet you won’t break out as much. For a refreshing mood-​lifter during the day i spritz the deep sea water in mint over my face. i know it sounds ridiculously bougie and high-​maintenance but it just smells so good and makes your skin feel so supple and hydrated. Lastly try the cream to powder foundation. It’s super light, highly pigmented and covers evenly to make your skin look flawless.

My favorite product is Shu Uemura’s oil cleanser. i don’t know how I ever coped before taking off waterproof mascara. I am also fanatic about their lash curlers, toning lotions, and eye shadows. I am on their mailing list for promotional events like their fake Luxe Lash Days or Spring Colors. They hire in really great makeup artists and they spend an hour on me trying new stuff — for free! Really nice, earthy girls at the counter even though the atmosphere can be intimidating with the Barney’s luxe-​modern atmosphere.
Don’t even try the neighboring Nieman Marcus store, with their depressing, aging edifice and scary sales counter women.
