Mizu Japanese Sushi & Hibachi

Came here last night with my family. Have been up all morning throwing up. The food was tasteless and the chef did not know how to proportion anything correctly. Also they’re cheap on the sauce and they don’t have free refills. I wonder why I got sick from the food, cross contamination or old food I’m not quite sure. I thought the reviews weren’t bad so I gave it a try. Boy was I wrong. Stay far away if you appreciate real hibachi.

The online ordering arrived faster than estimated. Our chicken was chewy and inedible, we had to throw it out. Not sure if it was not cooked fully or just bad quality. The portion size was very small which was surprising due to how much we paid. Filet mignon was great! Not sure if we’ll order again because of the situation with the chickenone whole meal in the garbage.

Back again; love the creative menu, fresh sushi, and attentive service. Haven’t been able to find Tuna pizza like this anywhere!

I took my order to go. It was a Tuesday mid afternoon nobody was in there, so my food was quickly prepared. The Miso soup was good and they gave me a huge container of it so I was very happy, the California Rolls were okay but the rice was almost like wet so it was kind if weird for me. I’ve never had that before with a California Roll. When I go to Sushi Village the rice is always dry. It tasted good though. The edamame was good but not as salty as I had hoped. I love salt on my edamame. I was pleased that they had given me a spoon, dipping sauce, and chop sticks and I hadn’t even asked for them! Most to go orders in my experience anywhere (even fast food) forget things like that. My usual sushi place is Sushi Village in Hicksville but on the nights I don’t want to do an all you can eat for $ 20 a person I wouldn’t mind coming here.

I literally downloaded the Unilocal app so I could right this review. After a long day at work I went to grab myself some sushi to take home so I came to Mizu. The local sushi joint. I walked in there was not one person sitting and eating the place was empty. I walked up to the hostess and asked if I could place an order to go. She completely ignored me did not look at me and continued to play candy crush on her phone… I took a look and the menu and when I was ready to order she completed rushed me and continued to play on her phone. Fine… We all like a good game of candy crush… But when I get home and I am missing food and that’s when it become a a problem… She didn’t say thank your or your welcome to me. Super rude. The food was tasteless… So disappointed.
Hopefully next time my experience is better so I can adjust this review …

Seriously impressed. My dad and I decided to grab some take out yesterday, so he suggested Mizu. We got in and placed an order for a mango kani salad, the out of control roll, the lovey-​dovey roll and the tricolor naruto. The rolls were buy 2 get 1 free which was awesome. They were ready in about 15 minutes so we sat and chatted and I admired the décor. Funky and spacious dining room with sushi bar seating and booths. The total came to 32 and change, I stopped into the conveniently located liquor store that neighbors Mizu and grabbed a bottle of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The lovey-​dovey roll looked like it would be a little excessive but it was really interesting with the strawberry. The fish in the naruto roll was fresh and had a nice texture. It’s a pain sometimes with naruto because they tend to slip apart, but these stayed intact from plate to soy sauce to mouth. I’m excited to come back for their sashimi dinner entrée. Fabulous job Mizu.

Geat Great Food! The first time I went there was because I brought a groupon & I now I’m there a couple times a month. The place is always very clean. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. This is my favorite place for hibachi & sushi & I highly recommend this place.

We bought a Groupon to this place and when we entered they were very friendly. Food was good but they kept asking for my bf for i.d. cause he looked so young… annoying. I will say the food was great and so was the sake. After we got our sake and he showed his i.d. everything was perfect… Very unique rolls and appetizers… next time we will try the hibachi. We will always come back here due to the service and menu.

It was ok but not sure it was worth the money. But the employees were great with the kids.

My absolute favorite sushi place on LI, The food is full of flavor, the sushi is absolutely AMAZING. We visit Mizu regularly and enjoy every bit of sushi/​hibachi. The waiters and waitresses are so nice and create a wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant. The parking is convenient and the location is ok, but doesn’t drag down this 5 star review. Mizu is my all time favorite sushi place ever.

I like this place because of the decent tasting hibachi food and portions for the price. It’s a laid back ambiance and is never really busy, so you never have to wait. But the annoying part is the fact they charge you for certain condiments and don’t tell you until you get the bill. As well as there high priced, low quality soft drinks. $ 3.00 for ginger ale that has lost of its suds and $ 3.50 for basic cranberry juice??? Really? But overall it’s decent. DO NOT GET THE PAD THAI THOUGH, leave to it the pros.

I have to say, I’ve been to a lot of sushi places and this is by far the best around where I live. I usually go here at least 6 – 7 times a month; and I’ve never had a bad meal! If I order and pick up or go in and sit down, the food is the same… fresh! They have some of the most delicious rolls around. In fact all there rolls are excellent! I’ve also sat for hibachi dinner, there and was very good. I recommend you try this sushi restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

Came here to get take-​out a few weeks ago. There was a steady stream of people coming in and out and the phone was constantly ringing so it appears this is a rather popular spot. They do hibachi in the back rooms which most patrons seemed to be waiting for. The ambiance is casual — the lighting is not flattering, esp for photos. There’s also a weird neon green strobe light that dances in the front.
Sushi mood. Quick look over the menu showed some ridiculously cheap rolls — $ 3.50 for the standard ones. Sweet. Ordered 3.
I could have probably learned to make sushi in the time it took to get my order. More staff definitely necessary. There was only one waitress manning the whole front area too and it was a Saturday night. Ah well. Luckily, the rolls were pretty good. Big fillings, little rice. I think I ate them all in about 2 minutes the second we got back to CG’s.
Called in for a pick-​up order recently and it was ready in 15 minutes. This will probably be the plan going forward. Will update if I ever actually have time to sit and eat here.

This place is the bomb diggity bomb !
The food is so fresh you get so much for your money. I have never gone to a hibachi place that gives fried rice and noodles with your entrée! I got filet mignon and scallops and I was blown away! The steak was cooked to perfection.
The woman who took my reservation was so nice and easy going. They were accommodating for my group of 14.
The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that they ran out of water glasses and it took 40 min for the cooks to come over and start cooking (even though they needed 2 cooks at same time for our group).
The service was good and our cook was great and fun ! I will def recommend and will be back for more !

This place is the bomb diggity. I have been here three times and I can’t get enough. The first time I stumbled upon this place just because I was in the area. I’m not sure how I found out but they do buy two special rolls get one free I believe Mon-​Thurs. But you have to ask for it because they won’t advertise that deal. You’re welcome =) The fish has always been fresh and their special rolls are very good and they have good variety. I hate when nearly every special roll has spicy salmon or spicy tuna. I enjoy the Al Roll, Bethpage Roll and the Out of Control Roll. The Kani salad is great too. I’ve been back with a Groupon for a sushi dinner for two which included a chef’s choice app, sake, and two special rolls. Be aware that you can’t use the Groupon within the first 24 hours of buying. I’m not a great fan of Sake, but I really enjoyed the one they served us (didn’t ask for the name.) Our app that night had been salmon in a miso broth that was incredible, I even kept my plate to dip my sushi in the broth.
The service here is great, everyone is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is wonderful, totally unexpected just by judging from the outisde.
I have never eaten here for hibachi but judging by my experience and other reviews I have no doubt that it’s great as well!

Wow. This place turned out to be such an unexpected gem. We had bought a Groupon for hibachi on a whim a few weeks ago and after being unable to come up with any better ideas for dinner one evening we decided to call a reservation and check it out.
I ordered the steak and scallops and the hibachi chef did put on quite the show and prepared the meal wonderfully. Everything tasted great, though the steak was a little more salty then I would normally enjoy. The portions were very large and our chef was very affable and a great entertainer.
The restaurant also has a large sushi bar and dining area in the front which was packed with people while we were in the back in the habachi area. The rolls looked well prepared so will have to come back to try the sushi. Will update the review then.
Great experience and for the price you can’t beat it. We look forward to coming back.

Holy lunch special! In a shopping center that deals out lots of awfulness (doctors offices, DMV, liquor store), it’s nice to see that Mizu can hold it’s own. The handy lil Unilocal app brought us here and while expectations were not high, they were met and surpassed. The lunch special prices are simply unbeatable. Our table scooped up an iced tea, 3 rolls (soup or salad included) and a salmon bento box (soup and salad included) for a whopping $ 20 including tax. Stuffed and happy with the food, $ 20 for two is my happy (lunch) place and the place is nice inside to boot. I suggest you stop by if you’re in the area. Certainly beats paying more at the Embassy Diner.
