Ichiban

The food here is soooooooo delish!!! I found this place on Unilocal Bc I was looking for delivery and now i will never order my sushi anywhere else. So fresh and yummy.

Was extremely impressed with their take out sushi and I’m not easily impressed! Have ordered several times since!

Who knew? From the outside its a dump, on the inside its fresh, well lit but not bright, cozy and the food. Was excellent. I had the Ichiban Roll which was a nice mix of multiple fish but it didn’t feel forced like eel and tuna usually would feel.
The sushi pieces were tasty, the tuna melted in my mouth, the Sweet Shrimp was tasty and presented well.
A+

While there is nice seating here and service is good, this is one of our go to spots for take out or delivery. You can order online or over the phone. We find that delivery times are typical for the area and could take up to 45 minutes during peek times. If we know we can’t wait that long, we’ll just call for pick up and our food would be ready by the time we get there. My husband and I are vegetarian and have so many good options here from the kitchen to the sushi bar (I realize items without fish hardly counts as true sushi, but we love it)!

This place’s location initially deterred me from walking in, as it is in the corner of a fairly dilapidated shopping center; however, I am grateful I didn’t judge a book by it’s cover, as the food was excellent!
Forget the comments about coupons or miscommunications you may encounter if reading reviews about this place… the food is top notch, and besides the location, you would be making a mistake not trying this spot out at least once. I can’t speak for all; however, I do love Japanese Cuisine and have an avid interest in Japanese Culture and they have have a firm handle on good sushi!
My first experience left me wanting more… I shall return =).

Its in an unattractive shopping center, so you may miss it. But don’t pass it by!!!

We went here for Valentines day dinner, and it was a great choice! My boyfriend found the place online and made reservations, but it wasn’t crowded at all. The lychee martini was a little weak but extremely flavorful. The appetizers were fresh, but I asked for spicy shrimp, it was just well seasoned (I’m partial to Spicy food). The main course was perfectly cooked, and tasted amazing. I wish I could have finished the amazing dessert but I was full! The staff was sweet attentive and accomodating. I would give 5 stars but the weak drinks took it down to 4. The food alone is worth a return trip. The space was clean, as well as the restroom. They even gave us a rose and a balloon when we left! Loved it!

NO MISCOMMUNICATION! I MADE IT VERY CLEAR I SAW A DISCOUNT OFFERED ON Unilocal AND ALSO THE ONE ON THE MENU! She mentioned that it expired December 31^st… Why not apply the new applicable discounts!
PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE!
Very disappointed with this place!
Our usual Thai Show was not delivering after the blizzard so I called this place to order for delivery! At the time of ordering I told the lady that on Unilocal it states they have an offer of spend $ 50 and get $ 10 off! She told me that discount had expired and i couldn’t use it! She was capitalizing on the fact that they were one of the only people delivering!
The food tastes like ass and I’m sorry to Thai Show that I didn’t come pick it up!
Please call THAI SHOW first and make this place a last resort! You will not be disappointed!
I’m sure my repeat business would out weigh the $ 10 you saved yourself! You’ve lost a customer for life!

This is one of my favorites, sushi was nice and refreshing. The wait was a tad long, being that we were the only ones dining in. The waiter was really nice and brought us an appetizer on the house. The location was convenient with available parking, but is located in the corner of a shopping center. All in all, a great place for a family dinner and we will most likely be back at Ichiban for another great meal.

I have mixed feelings about this new Japanese restaurant, but I think it’ll be easier to go through my thoughts in bullet form.
–Restaurant space/​setting: For being in a little corner of the shopping center, Ichiban did a good job of advertising where they are (especially compared to the previous establishments). Great job with the sign! Also, great job with the interior. I love the layout, the tables, the chairs. I really like what you all did!
–Service: Here is one of my mixed feelings. The server we had was very kind, very attentive… but he seemed a little clueless when it came to items on the menu. We asked for recommendations as well as clarifications on some menu items, it was a little disappointing and confusing that he wasn’t able to give us much in the way of suggestions or ideas of what various ingredients listed in the menu were. BUT he was very honest and just such a sweet waiter, so I couldn’t hold it too much against him. Perhaps it would be good to train the wait staff regarding what various items on the menu are like and so that they can give an opinion regarding various dishes?
–Drinks: You get a solid ‘A’ for the drinks. Delicious mojito! Just the right strength!
–Food: Again a mixed bag. We got vegetable gyoza, the chirashi set (including miso soup), and two orders of the veggie sushi rolls.
The gyoza had decent taste to it… but it was a little on the soggy side.
I am happy to say that the fish in the chirashi bowl was good. I loved the variety in selection as well as the quantity. I just wished there was a little more rice to go with the fish. The presentation for the bowl is beautiful, especially with the rice in a cute little cone, but it does constrain the amount of rice available.
Finally, the miso soup that came with the chirashi set, this is where things went wrong. I’ve been to many places for Japanese food before and this is the first time I’ve had miso that has tasted quite like what I had at Ichiban. It just didn’t taste like miso soup. You can tell that there was miso base used in the soup, but then there was something extra. I can’t exactly say what: extra soy sauce, extra sugar, extra *something* that didn’t belong. The soup also tasted like something deep fried was left inside of it or too close to it. So, to be honest, the miso soup was definitely not a favorite or even something I really enjoyed, which is a shame because I came into this restaurant really wanting to like it – especially seeing how attentive the owner has been with trying to keep all his customers happy.
All in all, Ichiban is a solid choice if you’re out for sushi. For now, I’ll just stick to the sushi options and drinks.

I’ve gone to Ichiban about 5 times now and am always impressed by their service, drinks, and fresh sushi. Last time I dined in, the sushi chef even gave us a (delicious) salmon & crab appetizer on the house. Great spot to have a party or group, too.

This place is great. Delicious sushi, giant Miso soup, amazing ginger dressing, good prices, super attentive waitress and she kept refilling our water and tea, and most importantly the best music playlist (90’s and 2000’s R&B) Checked in on Unilocal and got 25% off. Will definitely come here again!

Absolutely love this place. It is our hidden gem and deserves recognition.
This is the go to spot my girlfriends and I go for fresh sushi, hot sake, and good times. The location is easy to drive passed and kind of tucked away in the corner but I would definitely recommend everyone to stop by and to give it a chance. you won’t regret it.
The volcano roll is one of my favorites. I can’t go in there and not order it. And I also appreciate the option they offer to make any special rolls naruto style.

My wife and I just finished dinner. I would highly recommend the thai basil chicken, DELICIOUS! My wife had two sushi rolls. She was very happy. Friendly service. We will be back.

I stumbled on this place by accident when getting my nails done next door. First time I got a take out for lunch and that made me come back for dinner a couple of days later.
The rolls are very fresh. Overall food is plated beautifully and tastes amazing. Must get the sushi pizza… so delish.
The restaurant is clean and spacious. Where they are located is not super desirable because they are in a corner of a shopping center and there is no big sign by the road for the restaurant. It’s a hidden jewel indeed :)

First time here and it was a great time. The décor of the place is very nice and very clean. When it comes to the food its great. Starts you must have the sushi pizza. Main course we had 3 rolls mango hawaii, rainbow roll and angel roll. All very fresh and the choices of deserts are amazing also. Cant wait to visit again.

Excellent Asian fusion restaurant. Generous portions, great variety on menu with excellent service.

Really good food and great service. Fish was super fresh and we loved everything we had. I recommend the tuna pizza for app (we subbed salmon for tuna) and it was great

This is the first time I ate here after new management and it was so good! The food is so fresh and stuffs are very friendly. The most impressive thing is they gave us free fried ice cream after the meal ! Wowow!
Defiantly we will go back again !
