Sears Optical

First came to see Dr. Kwan one year ago for my wife’s first contact lens exam. After reading Unilocal and Google reviews, she decided he would be her best bet– boy, was she right!
Sears Optical does not do glamorous advertisements. They’re not trendy, they’re not «in vogue», but they have the best optometrist I’ve ever worked with. After her exam, when it came to do mine, we scheduled with him right away.
Dr. Kwan is a very humble and decorous man who [I believe] truly cares for each of his patients’ health. He took the time to introduce himself, share his background, and spend about 5 – 10 minutes just asking about my background and eye health, any concerns I’d had, etc. He has a wonderful bedside manner and was able to walk me through how each test affects my prescription and how my eyes are progressing. What I liked best: he actually LISTENED to my concerns and addressed them during the exam.
I have been wearing glasses since the 7^th grade. I have never seen the same optometrist twice because, frankly, they’ve all ignored what I have to tell them. Dr. Kwan has not only earned my praise, but my continued business. Thank you Dr. Kwan & Sears Optical for a great eye exam!

Haven’t had such a good eye exam in years! Dr. Kwan is very professional and knowledgeable. Even though I was late, he was very calm and took the time to explain everything and perform a thorough exam. I’m already recommending him to everyone hahaha.

This is a shout-​out to Marie, who manages the store at Sears Optical. She is young, but totally competent, knowledgeable and very mature. I enjoyed my interaction with her and appreciated her intelligent and honest service. The frames and glasses themselves were great– and very well-​priced. Marie helped me choose frames that worked best for me and made sure I was really happy with my purchase. I had 90 days to decide and when I returned them I was treated with respect and courtesy and was fully refunded cheerfully. Highly recommend! Great service, Marie. Thank you.

I can’t recommend Dr. Kwan highly enough! He was thorough, professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. He took his time and patiently answered all of my questions. Beyond 5 stars.

I have never had a more thorough, sincere, competent and patient-​oriented eye doctor, and I have been seeing eye doctors for almost my whole life ~30 years.
Dr. Kwan and the Sears Optical office in Westfield Mall have always followed through and taken immediate action to ensure my satisfaction. Dr. Kwan took the time required to figure out the best contact lens prescription for my poor eyes, which have baffled other eye doctors. He is approachable, welcoming, friendly and treats his patients with respect.
I agree with Alana B’s statement «If doctors were more like him in America, I think our healthcare system would be better. »

I agree with everyone. I especially want to commend Dr Kwan and Marie. Both customer service oriented and you feel like they are doing everything they can for great service and products!

Excellent service. Dr. K was very professional, explained everything, took the time to address my concerns, and is a rare find. His staff is also very patient and courteous. Unfortunately, I had to pay out of pocket because he is not a network provider… But it was all worth it. I read the reviews on Unilocal and got an appt on the same day. Highly recommend. Only wish my insurance covered.

Dr. Kwan is the man. If doctors were more like him in America, I think our healthcare system would be better. He takes his time to answers ALL questions and double checks, everything. He is so soft spoken that he makes you feel comfortable and doesn’t assume anything. He does his due diligence and is thorough. At my visit in March, he was running behind and my appt was pushed out a few hours. Dr. Kwan really had to go pick up his kids but gave me a complete exam and gave me the best customer service ever. Any other doctor would have just rushed out and given a half a– exam. I have followed Dr. Kwan from Target in Greenbelt and I live in Virginia, so that just tells you that good help is hard to find and I would follow him anywhere. and you should too. He doesn’t try to up sell anything that you don’t need or give you random prescriptions.

ditto on what Kim said. I couldn’t ask for better customer service. One of the front desk people who handles the insurance/​payment, etc was very nice and accommodating. didn’t pressure or rush me at all. i had a good deal with my employers insurance and he was able to beat it. doctor kwan is very professional, took the time to answer all of my questions. there were a few customers, but they did their best to assist everyone in a timely manner. well worth the wait. i’ll continue going here for exams as long as they have the same staff working there.

Best eye doctor experience I’ve ever had. A thorough exam, some great tips for staving off mid-​life reading vision loss, followed by a lot of help choosing the perfect frames in a no-​pressure atmosphere. They also went out of their way to get me the most out of my vision insurance, and threw discounts in on my out-​of-​pocket costs. Highly recommend!
