Don’t bother trying to get any rare/​special beers here. Vinny shows incredible favoritism and even though a customer is willing to spend their hard earned money to enjoy a nice beer, if you’re not on his infamous list that is a mile long then you have no luck in getting any good beer. He doesn’t offer to put you on the list either. I have shopped in his store a number of times the last couple of years and have probably spent upwards of $ 300 on beer which I understand isn’t a whole lot compared to other people but I have definitely given him my business. He acts like he doesn’t even recognize you when remind him of times you asked for certain rare beers. I saw and heard first hand of a beer that you had to be on «the list» in order to receive. I walked in, asked for that said beer and was denied due to not being on the list. I think this is a poor way to run a business. To test that theory I had my best friend’s wife go in and ask for the same beer hours later, in which vinny obliged and not even knowing her and this being her first time in the store was given said beer. This is not loyalty and this is a poor way to treat your customers. I will not be shopping in the store ever again and will be telling people that appreciate good beer about this story

Great selection and very knowledgeable when it comes to craft beer. Vinnie keeps his selection fresh and full of the latest and greatest brews. I’ve been going here for years and I’ve never been disappointed. His wide variety makes it easy to try something new every time I stop in. I’ve recommended Mug & Jug to friends and they’ve had nothing but positive experiences. Another solid business in the city of Berkley… keep up the good work!

Every time I’ve shopped at Mug n Jug, I’ve had a great experience. They’re service is on point and very friendly. I love they’re craft beer selection. Ask for Vinnie to give you the inside on all the new beers in stock. Keep up the good work.

Great selection. Great staff. Wally and Vince will even special order something if I have a hankering for it. With the addition of the beer cave, they stock more cold craft beers and there is always something new and great to discover.
They have an equally impressive wine selection.

Whats that you say? You need a bottle of Layer Cake Cabernet, a Makers Mark gift set, and some Flat Tire? If your in Berkley you’d best make it to Mug n’ Jug. They have a really good wine selection and good prices. They give you an additional 10% off when you buy 4 bottles of wine. Vince will talk your ear off but that’s fine. It’s always best to have a relationship with your local booze merchant. That’s what ma always said. The location is great because you can get in and out easily from either Southfield or 12 Mile.

They, like very few stores, stock a very large selection of specialty beers that just can’t be found everywhere — Bell’s, Delirium, Dead Guy, and a whole slew of locally brewed beers.
This in itself is reason to take a look. If you’re on this side of town, it’d be better to come to M&J rather than drive out to the Red Wagon or Embassy!
