Deschutes is always a good time, and while we go to the one where we live more often(Portland), we really love hitting up this location when we are in Bend. Always excellent service, and decent food. We love that we can get beers here that we normally can’t get elsewhere too. It keeps us coming back for more! We will be back up there this weekend and can’t wait to stop in!

Although we waited 45 minutes to get a table the food definitely made the wait well worth it. I ordered the salmon which was amazing! The food in general is reasonably priced and they have a great selection of beer. I highly recommend this place!

I can’t stop going back for my staple beer choices fresh squeezed and hop slice! Their Burgers are a favorite pub burger which I try and get at least once a month :)

So disappointing. Unilocal reviewers must have all been tourist. Loving my evening in Bend until now.

This place is cool. It was highly recommended, so my friends and I had to try it. The service was great. The waiter was super nice! He made us feel very welcomed since we are from out of town. The food was good! I got the Fish & Chips. My friends got the Artichoke Dip, the Elk Burger, and Mac & Cheese. The beers here are good too. My friends got the Beer Flight, and I got the Wayfarer Cider. They say the cider is made in house. It was really good. If I’m ever in Bend again, I will definitely come back to this brewery.

This was our first stop in Bend and it did not disappoint. We went for appetizers and beer. We each did tastings of beer. The beer was amazing! I loved it. We had the wings, pretzel and calamari. All were excellent but I loved the pretzel and cheese. We also bought a ton of apparel for friends and family, really cute stuff. The service was great as well everyone was so friendly!!!

One of the most reviewed places in Bend, I can’t add much based on one visit. — Armory XPA — very good. — Pinedrops IPA — even better — Fish & chips — awesome, maybe in my top five. The panko breading is spot on and the fish is flaky and just excellent. Solid fries. — Tempeh reuben — surprisingly decent, which is good news for vegetarians as the rest of the menu isn’t too veggie friendly. Good service in the bar area. Not a bad space. Super busy on a Friday early evening — no seats at the bar itself. My wife has been here four times now and she said she’d not been able to sit at the bar yet. Benders(Bendites? Bendonians? Oregon High Desert Pub Crawlers?) obviously like Deschutes Public House. So do I — recommended.

When living in Bend, there are many places to dine and have fun. One place is Deschutes Brewery. I am a fan and always liked going here. My go to items here were always the pretzel and mac and cheese. The price is reasonable and you can get filled up by just these two items. Be aware that sometimes finding parking is difficult. It does get crowded and noisy in here to so might not be great environment for kids. Overall, going here is a good attraction to go to if in Bend.

Awesome lunch and the brews taste even better fresh! Great first experience Comfortable, lots of options, easily accommodated our table of 10, good kid menu it may have tasted a little better after just finishing Smith Rock, but the service was right on too. As an added bonus after the great experience, I ordered 4 items from their website(2 shakers, bike jersey, tacker board) and they arrived in just 3 days. Keep up the solid work!

I ordered tofu banh mi, with SMASH beer. I allowed my meat loving family to have a bite and they were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the non-meat burger tasted! The meal was perfectly cooked, with a delicate curry flavor complimented by fresh cilantro. Excellent flavor and price!

Only got beer when we went there. It was very busy at first it seemed like our waitress was not paying attention but later found out she was on her own and was trying very hard she did a good job and made up for the service not being the fastest by being very helpful and very nice to us. Got a special beer that they only serve there and it hit the spot also try the root beer float which was a fun thing. Would definitely go there again and recommend it.

Love this place! Great beers, great burgers, and great service! Make reservations because it does get very busy and you’ll have to wait but it’s worth it!

This place would be 5 stars in any non-hyper-beer-fanatic city, I think. It is a good version of this brewery-as-pub/restaurant concept that you see from Stone, Ballast Point, etc. Sure, it’s care-worn, but they get a lot of credit for having been a true original when it opened long before the craft beer craze was as the heights it is now. We enjoyed the newer version in Portland than we did this original spot, but we enjoyed the original nonetheless. For my money it doesn’t get much better than Deschutes– whether I’m AT Deschutes or some other bar/pub/restaurant!

I highly enjoy this place, the beer, the food, the atmosphere, but unfortunately none of that mattered when we walked into the breezeway and were smacked in the face with the smell my dog’s anal glands get when they need expressed. Waiting in the foyer is painful. It smells like you’ve walked into a raging case of bacterial vaginosis. Just disgusting. Please power wash your entry, Deschutes. If it was just one night I would let it slide, but on First Friday last month and then again tonight, it reeks. Disappointing.

It’s a Bend classic. If you pass through and your into breweries this is the grand daddy of them all. It’s not what I consider to be the best food, or most inventive. But it’s always good. The wait times can be quite daunting. Like hours but that says something for so many locals and tourists are willing to wait to get in. No reservations so be OK with the wait if you come during peak times

If Deschutes is open, it WILL be packed, so plan ahead. We arrived around 8:30 on a Friday expecting a 10 minute wait and ended up with a 35 minute wait. No big deal. We were able to squeeze in and stand at the bar and grab drinks. I’m not a beer drinker and ordered their sour cider. It’s definitely different than traditional hard ciders and the sourness took me a bit by surprise. The food was good and as always, we ordered way too much. Two appetizers for 4 people plus burgers all around. We were fat and happy walking out. Our server was great and kept the drinks full and was happy with all of our weird requests and special orders. They don’t have parking, so keep in mind that you’ll likely be street parking or paying for a lot.

Deschutes Brewery in Bend has long been on my list of top breweries to visit. I finally made it there and it lived up to the expectations! Deschutes is housed in an expansive and beautifully appointed space with dining rooms on two floors. They also have a large bar area that gives you a view of both their brewing process and their dry-aged meats. Tip: They offer free tours at 1pm, BUT you need to reserve online. On the day of my visit, they were full. Check out their website for details. I settled in and surveyed their beer menu — so many choices. My first impulse was to start with a flight — a sampling of 5 different beers for $ 9. My waiter was very helpful in describing each of the beers. They do have a «standard» flight that includes many of their most popular brews(conveniently numbered for reference) but I had already had most of them in the past and was looking for something different. The one beer that cannot be included in a flight is the one I had my eye on: The Abyss Reserve Series Cask-Conditioned Stout. So I decided to forego the flight and start with that one. Wow. It was amazing. The Abyss is a sweet and dark Imperial Stout with deep chocolate notes that coats the palate with creamy joy. Wonderful aroma and fantastic flavor. I didn’t need anything else afterwards. For my lunch, I went with the elk burger. Leaner than its more common counterpart, it didn’t have the full fatty flavor of beef, but it was still very good. It was covered in melted gruyère, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomatoes on a 10 grain bun. Outstanding. All in all, I was thrilled to be able to enjoy the fare at Deschutes. If you are in Bend for any reason, then Deschutes is a must-stop. Enjoy!

Even though Deschutes is now a more national brewery as they serve outside of OR, the prices at the actual brewery house is still super super awesome. I love that they didn’t raise it just because of their popularity amongst other states. Ordered flights so that I could be greedy and try out all the different drafts that they had, they have ones where they already preselect the beers for you, or you can create your own and there’s no additional cost in doing so! There are a few beers where you’ll have to pay a little extra– but those are few and far in between and hey, it’s a rare beer, splurge a little! :) Would definitely recommend coming here if you’re in Bend, I know it’s the«touristy» and«it» place to go to, but there’s a reason for that! It’s great, lovely décor and service is really good! :)

Stopped by this brewery on our Bend Ale Trail quest. Got beers, dinner and a stamp. I will always come to Deschutes when I am in Bend. It feels like the original brewery in the area — not sure if that is true. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. Service is good — helpful and friendly. The food is good — reliably alright — nothing fancy, just good. I got a salad for dinner because I wanted the peanut butter pie — OMG it is the bestest, I get it every time I go. If you’re a peanut butter and chocolate fan — you have to try this. It is probably enough to share — but I don’t. Hey — I only had a salad for dinner, don’t judge.

So I finished off my tour of their factory/brewery by heading over to their«Public House» located a bit away in the heart of the town of Bend. Parking wasn’t exactly easy, but I managed fine and headed in. I started off with an Obsidian Stout(nitro) since I’d never had one on tap before. It was pleasantly creamy and a nice way to start the visit off. Before I’d gotten my food, I found my glass to be empty, and was quickly asked if I’d like another. This time I opted for my favorite, the always reliable and oh so delicious Black Butte Porter. Old reliable proved just that, and I was feeling good when the food finally did arrive(not that it took an overly long time… just a figure of speech). For food, I went with their Pale and Porter Burger with some Sweet Potato Fries. The burger itself was decent, but I found myself a bit disappointed that it wasn’t great, since that’s what I’ve come to expect from anything with the Deshutes«label» on it. The accompanying sweet potato fries were excellent. All in all, it was a nice way to finish off the tour. Wish I’d have bought a pint glass or two, but oh well, next time!

Coming in to eat here is a holistic experience. You get the food, the vibe and AMAZING beers. I especially enjoys the Ruben — Oh My, the Ruben is my go to dish. The meat is exquisite, topped with sour kraut and spread of some sort, on Rye delicious bread. Accompanied with your choice of some great Beer, who needs more than that?! Service always knowledgable and patience In fact I would have come here every day if I could. Great place to come with family, children, co-workers, couples, by yourself. The place is welcoming, great atmosphere, delivers the essence of Bend. I gave it 4 starts due to prices, and at times the sitting is way tooooooooo long.
