The southwest pistachios are to die for! The Cuban sandwich was delicious. The staff is attentive and very friendly. Great atmosphere and I really enjoyed the music. I highly recommend this pub.

Delicious. Had the pork tacos and the pear pilsner. So fresh and house made. Every bite was delightful

We caught them at a bad time. Once the rush died down we caught up with the father of this dad daughter team. Sundays are new for them. They did there best to catch up. Very friendly and good food. The beers were okay

We picked an empty table and then stood around forever waiting for the dirty dishes to be cleared. Finally the waitress tried to take our order, but the list of things they were out of was so long, there was almost nothing left on the menu. After settling for something, the waitress took half our tables order and left. She forgot to get everyone else’s order and we had to flag her down and it was really awkward. They then brought us food we never ordered. Beer was alright but was overshadowed by bad service, mediocre food, and did I mention it’s atmosphere? In an office building! It was bad from the start, middle and end. Not a good restaurant.

3 stars for the food– your average pub food. Good beer. Service was beyond awful and disappointing. Had to go to the bar to get our own drinks after asking the waitress multiple times. Never checked in with us. Splitting the check 4 ways was too difficult, and handed us the bill and said«sorry». If it wasn’t for the service, I’d go back.

Went here with a decent size group.(15 people in the group) the beer was great. We had some of the great local brews around, including Rat Hole’s beer. The service just was terrible. Our waitress couldn’t get any orders correct, didn’t ask for drinks. I asked for a sample and ended up waiting an hour for the sample and just walked up to the bar to get me a drink. I know large groups can be difficult, but we are pretty simple. Majority of us ordered burgers. The food was just typical pub food. Nothing special, but we were really disappointed. Again, come for the drinks. But leave to get food at another place.

Rat hole has really good service, the beer is good and it’s really cool to see the cooks working. The overall experience is really good, I just wasn’t too impressed with the food. I’ll definitely come back another time to try it out again.

Last stop on the ale trail. The place was not bad at all, besides the name(who names a place you are going to eat«the rat hole»??). The beer I’m sure was good but they didn’t have very many varieties in the style of beer I like. I like hoppy IPAs and they seemed to mostly have porters and stouts. So not their fault(besides the name). Our waiter was really friendly and tried to help us find beer we would like but they just didn’t have anything that was our taste.

Stopped by this brewery on our Bend Ale Trail quest. Got beers and a stamp. This place is in the Old Mill District — a newer property and convenient to the river trails — a good stop after a walk. We came here on a quiet Tuesday night. The server was super friendly. THe atmosphere is low key and comfortable — more cozy pub than bustling bar. They have a nice outside seating area with heaters. We did not eat, but the menu looked interesting. I’ll come back and try food.

Came here because we had a coupon! Never would have noticed this place. It is an office building complex! Once you make it inside it feels more like a bar. Small outdoor area overlooking street. Inside has a few TVs. We had great service! Dinner was really good. I had the chicken enchilada and my husband the green chile burrito. Both were very tasty. The portion sizes are not large but we were both full at end of meal. Prices seem to be in line with prices here in bend.

Surprise! For it’s location, it’s a great place! We had a little issue that was promptly address and ‘made right’ by the owner… he was so willing to help us out! The food was really delish… we’ve been twice, so far. Certainly worth a try for anyone looking for something close to Old Mill, but new!!!

Ate Here earlier this week. First off, the service was sub par. I had to ask for a water multiple times form our server, until another friend I was with asked for one and got his, i still hadn’t gotten mine. Took our orders, i ordered the burger. When my food came, it wasn’t what i ordered and had the wrong side. I simply switched with another person at my table and got what i ordered. The burger was ok. The beer i had was good, but ive learned that most IPA’s taste the same, and this one wasn’t that special. On top of this, i was intensely sick for 2 days. 90% sure i had food poisoning. Safe to say, I won’t be returning to this place, which sucks, because i really do love breweries, especially local ones in Bend.

Good food and good beer. I’d eat here again, so it gets four stars. In fact, we tried to eat here again last week, but it was 11:40am and they don’t open until noon(seems weird to me). I wasn’t about to wait 20 mins until they opened, seeing as how we were finished with a hike, and therefore thirsty and hungry. The service was a little odd. As others have mentioned it seems like they don’t know exactly what they are doing. Friendly, in our case, but they stumbled over taking our order and such. «what did you order?» um, perhaps you should have written it down? That being said, I enjoy it’s lack of crowds and ease of parking. The location is odd — office building place where you might expect to find your dentist or chiropractor. The atmosphere inside is great!

Quick Review: Good service, great beer, amazing food, but they did not have all of their beers. Longer Review: This was a neat stop on our way through the Bend Ale Trail. The building itself looked brand new! The inside is casual and cool. We sat out on their patio and that was nice because they had heaters by almost every table. We had a sampler and the mushroom quesadilla. I enjoyed all the beers and the quesadilla was very very good. I don’t know what they did to make that quesadilla so good but it was. Maybe it was because that was our 5th brewery of the day but either way, YUM! I would defiantly come back.

While In Bend for a concert, we stopped at Rat Hole for a few beers and a snack. One of the owners served us at the bar. He was funny, sociable, and we could tell he was good to his employees. This place is not a rat hole – it’s beautifully decorated in sort of a lodge style. Not fancy by any means, but comfy and clean. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We had the Lemon wheat(slightly lemony, refreshing and delicious) the Vanilla Porter(so tasty! The vanilla flavor was perfect) the Imperial(my boyfriends favorite), and Fence Post porter. The nachos with BBQ pork were amazing. Corn, black beans, salsa, cheese, guac and sour cream – some of the best nachos I’ve ever had. The food, the beer, the staff and the atmosphere make Rat Hole a brewery worth repeating! We will be back the next time we visit Bend.

This place is amazing! Not only does it serve outstanding beer but also great food! I had the veggie burger and the most delicious caramel cheesecake. Definitely try the rye IPA and hazelnut beer! Worth a visit!

I really wanted to love Rat Hole brewing. Their beer selection looked very good, and the specialize in Southwestern food, incorporating from ingredients from my homeland of New Mexico. However, it was just«ok». We didn’t have anything to eat, so I can’t comment on food, but I can speak to the beer. There just wasn’t anything that captivated me or I found super unique. The dark ales all tasted pretty similar and slightly flat, as did the lighter brews. We came here participating in the Bend Ale Trail, and hoping to find that next favorite brewery or ale, but did not. Our server was a little snarky with my fiancé, which did not go over so well, and there everyone just seemed to be mottling along. Not much conversation, and general lack of care. If you are collecting the stamps for your Ale Trail pass, by all means, stop in. But if worse came to worse, you wouldn’t miss much.

Came here for some brews and enjoyed. They had a live band playing which was neat, they were pretty good. To be honest, I can’t remember if we ate here or not. Not sure if it’s because it wasn’t memorable or if it was because we came here after a long day.

Biggest score on the Bend Ale Trail! It is in an area where you definitely won’t just stumble upon it — you have to go looking for it, so I’m glad we were given a reason to visit. One of the owners greeted us on a Thursday night. We just missed the live music(darn! we thought 8pm was a perfect time, but it ended earlier than we’d expected). The owner was our server and thoroughly went over the menu and specials with us. I ordered the fish tacos — they were a solid choice with handmade corn tortillas. Husband had a gigantic reuben which was a special that night, which he loved. Our friends split the layered enchilada which they raved about. The Beer — INLOVE. The lemon wheat — wow. We were begging the owners to hurry up and send kegs to our favorite bar in Portland. The saison was quite tasty, but the lemon wheat was incredible. Our friends also said that the pumpkin beer was their favorite kind they had on the ale trail(and this was our last stop over a week — #14). If I were a local, this is where I would go frequently for beer and be sure to bring out of town guests. The caramel pineapple upside down cake was great too. We were informed they had just remodeled and knocked out an office so the layout may be better and more open than people have experienced in the past. Also — nicest owners ever!!!
