I recently moved to Vancouver, Canada from Chicago. I stumbled across American Antiques during a trip to Bellingham, WA. Ray, the owner, is hands down one of the nicest and most interesting antique owners I have had the pleasure of meeting. I purchased a 1940’s old school fridge from him. Once I let him know I planned to have some work done to the fridge, he called local services on my behalf to see if he could secure the work and save me the hassle! He then stored it for me for 6 months before I could pick it up. American antiques is a great find with excellent items to explore with a coffee in hand. The part that made me write this review is the value, charm and service that its owner brings to customers.

My husband and I have been to pretty much every antique store in Bellingham and after a few minutes inside of this one today we decided it wins, hands down! The man who owns this place is very personable, but very respectful of your contemplative quiet time; if you have a questions about anything, he is happy to tell you the story behind it and perhaps how it’s made, without jumping on trying to sell it to you. The items he has ranges from old bottles to furniture, and it’s all nice stuff(don’t forget to look UP!). Plus his prices are super reasonable compared with all of the other places we have seen. If you’re looking for a fun, comfortable antique browsing atmosphere, hit this place up. It’s a winner! We plan on coming back more than once.

Best antique store in Bellingham, hands down. The owner, Ray, has fine taste and is in the business for the right reasons. Prices are reasonable and the antiques are in fine condition. You’ll be sure to find something you like in this out-of-the-way family business.

While visiting Bellingham, I decided to pop into this store when I saw the old bottles lining the window and I couldn’t control my interest in the store anymore. The store is owned by an old man, but he is the coolest guy ever. He doesn’t bother you and lets you shop. The store is completely filled with items, but these are random items that you wouldn’t find in most antique stores. This was the closest I’ve felt to going through someone’s attic. Once I decided to buy an old lighter and a tiny old glass medicine bottle, I handed it to him, he thought for a moment, then offered them to me for only $ 5.00! Extremely reasonable. You can really tell he runs the store because he loves it, and he’s not in it for the money. This is a must for anyone in the area. There’s so many interesting items that are truly unique.
