Let me start by saying I have never been stood up; not in my personal life and not in my professional life. I guess there is a first time for everything. I decided to purchase the Groupon for Max Hair because I know it’s a great way to find talented people, whether you’re looking for a hair person or someone who’s really good at doing nails etc. I made my hair appointment with Max himself; he was very nice over the phone. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted by anyone and so 10 minutes later I stopped one of the hairstylists there, and asked her if she knew where my stylist was. She went and asked another lady, who told me that I probably just beat Max to the salon by a few minutes. Well, as it turned out, I did beat Max to work. By 40 minutes! That’s how long I waited for him to show up, time during which I sent him a text message and one of his colleagues also sent him one. Forty minutes into it, not having heard back from him I decided the whole thing was beyond ridiculous, and left. I was advised to call him, because«surely he’ll call back». Wrong. He didn’t answer my text message, didn’t call me back. Until the next morning when he apologized for missing the appointment, and offered a refund, at the same time explaining that he makes only half of the $ 25 that I paid Groupon. Uhh… okay, that was weird, unprofessional and none of my business. You don’t run a LivingSocial or Groupon promotion to make a profit, you run it so that people know about you. The way this works is Groupon takes half of the already discounted price, and in return your business gains popularity. Anyway, I replied that I understood things happen and it wasn’t a refund I was looking for, but a haircut. I asked him if he had availability the following week. He didn’t answer that, so 6 hours later I had Groupon refund me. I felt pretty stupid giving this guy a second chance. I could have made another appointment somewhere else and not waste two weeks waiting for the date of this appointment to come, and I could also think of about a dozen other things I could have done in the 40 minutes I wasted while waiting for some flaky, arrogant person to «honor» me with his presence. I don’t know how often this happens in the industry but I like to think that it’s not an every-day occurrence. I work in the industry myself and if I would ever forget about an appointment a client had with me, I would try my best to fix it. Mistakes happen and I am not being absurd. I get that one could forget. But to behave this way with someone who could potentially become a regular client and to show complete disregard for someone’s time is not only unprofessional, it is disrespectful. Grossly disrespectful.

I saw the amazon local voucher so i called to check availability. I was really caught off guard when the guy who I am assuming is Max answered. I’m not one to leave reviews but this was not OK. Our conversation went like his: Max: HELLO Me: Hi, i saw the amazon voucher and I’m wondering what your availability is Him: We have like a ton of appointments so you wont be coming in today. Me: I wasn’t asking for today just checking for the future. What are your hours? Him: Cusses at me and hangs up. I’m not sure what is wrong with this person but I would not trust someone with this temper for anything. I’m a 19 year old girl and would never talk to someone like that. This was very scary.

I bought a Groupon for Max because honestly, I’m cheap. Didn’t know anything about him or his business, but it turned out to be the best investment in my hair I could have made. Max is AWESOME. Seriously. As someone else mentioned, he doesn’t judge! I have been coloring my own hair for a long time and not doing the best job at it, he didn’t give me «that look» that some people do, just took that mess and made it BEAUTIFUL. Very fun to talk to and I look forward to my visits. He also doesn’t try to sell you a ton of products you don’t need. He’s very creative and not afraid to say«well, that didn’t come out the way i expected, let’s try this.» Even after the Groupon deal, I’m very pleased with his prices. He does my daughter’s hair also. Last night was my third time with him and the best yet. I could not love my hair color more today. Thanks Max!!!

I have been to upwards of twenty stylists in my lifetime. Although I feel as if my requests are simple, they are somehow never fulfilled. That all ended when I bought a Groupon on a whim since I was in desperate need of an affordable cut and color. Max was efficient, entertaining, and met my every need. I have never been this satisfied with my hair. The salon is spacious and trendy. I have no complaints and I will absolutely be back.

I do NOT recommend going to this salon! The salon has a variety of different stylists and the stylist that I scheduled my haircut was not at the salon when I arrived! The stylist who was at the salon had poor customer service. After waiting 15 minutes she did not acknowledge that I was still waiting and continued to her next customer. I left and I will never go back. It was a waste of time, do not go here!

I was so disappointed! It was so unsanitary! The towel he used was filthy and had saw dust on it. As my hair was being colored the stylist dropped the brush on the floor and continued to dye my hair with it without cleaning it off. My hair felt terrible and I didn’t stay for the cut. I will never go back.
