Although my friend was telling the food is so good, she also got disappointed. The food was not good at all. The service was poor, just one guy serving 3 tables. And the most disappointing part was that the ladies room did not have soap!!! I would not recommend this place at all!

This was our first time visit, and will be last time as well. This place doesn’t know how to cook Beijing Duck, so they shouldn’t have named the place as Bejing Duck Palace. The duck is expensive and not good. The service was basically zero. We were there before a big group, but they took their order first, and we had to wait for long time for our duck to come, after the big table is all served. The table is dirty, the restroom is dirty. Maybe other dishes are ok besides duck, but we will never know. We will not go there again.

We ordered a Beijing roasted duck, and the duck taste like leftover. It was really dry and cold, the wrap as well. Never going back that place again.

Best authentic northern Chinese style food! Very delicious and clean place! Highly recommended! Shredded pork in garlic sauce is so good! Dry bean curd with jalapeño pepper is also delicious!

I had visited 3 times, first time: there were more than hundreds of ants crawling on the floor, we requested to change table and they asked us «why»? second time: we ordered beer and they give us beer that are at room temperature. I asked we can have some cold beer, they said«They dont carry cold beer». I guess in Beijing they drink your beer with ice??? Third time: I asked the waiter(apparently he is the owner) is this dish spicy, he said no. The dish came and it is spicy. I asked the waiter. He grab a piece and eat it and tell me «You call this spicy.» Summary: no customer service, food are acceptable but salty, Pricey for small dishes.

This place is ok but nothing special. I have eaten here twice now and my last visit will most likely be my last ever, just not impressed. The place itself is small, a bit hard to find and definitely not worth the effort. Both times the food was mediocre at best and some of it is down right inedible. I was really looking forward to trying the beef pancake rolls and they looked delicious but they were very tough, a bit chewy and ripped apart. Plus the meat inside was tough and gristly. The beef brisket noodle soup was also disappointing, the flavor was not very good and the beef was gristly, which I don’t like at all, obviously. Now for the good. The shrimp dumplings were pretty good but a bit soggy for my taste. The Kung Pao Chicken was ok and the Chicken Chow Mein was pretty good, probably the best thing I ate from here. I won’t be back and I can’t recommend this place.

Went back and was satisfied to say the least. I’ve had Peking duck all over northern China and while this is by far not the best I’ve had, it does the job. Again, I recommend their lamb/cabbage soup. This time we tried their dumplings and cold noodle dish; both were good, but the duck and cabbage soup are my jam. They do provide duck soup when you order the duck dish and I must say that it was much better than the first time we had it. Service is prompt and cold dishes available looked great… quack!!!

The duck soup and the fried duck was amazing, however the main duck dish and the pancakes were abysmal, I have never had such dry tasting duck before, or such crumbly pancakes. It was very light on the wallet. I will admit. The only reason this is getting 3 stars is because the menu looked quite interesting, lots of NE chinese dishes. I am very interested in going back and see how the rest of the menu taste. But I expected more out of a restaurant that named itself after the peking duck.

Excellent service. Thanks to Yalp checking in we got a free cold dish –beef salad which was pretty good. We went there because were having intense craving for Peking duck. Although Peking duck isn’t what I thought it should be, the beef salad and the fried rice were delicious also the stir fried shredded pancake was authentic enough.

Um. This isn’t Peking Duck. Which was actually told to us by owner because apparently the traditional way of cooking Beijing duck and hanging it is illegal in Bellevue. Or something. The duck is gummy and cold, and this is our fault for not being warned by the fact that we were the only people there at 7pm on a Friday night, but I think it had been cooked ages ago. The crepes were like thick pancakes and ripped when we tried to pull them apart. That being said, I am a native Beijinger and it makes me happy to see that our cuisine is being represented in an area where most Chinese restaurants are either Sichuanese or Cantonese seafood. Beijing food is so underrated and delicious, and there’s major history and tradition involved with each dish. Case in point, mung bean noodle sheets with veggies in a sesame peanut butter sauce. Was it done well? Um… not really but the effort is appreciated. The owner also accidentally called my young looking mom old but aside from that the service was pretty good. And he gave us a 10% off discount.

Bummed out cause I had high expectations from the other Unilocal reviews. Been jonesing for duck for a while. My mom is in town so the wife and I took mom and her friend here for dinner tonight. What a shameful restaurant! We ordered half Peking duck, the organic stewed chicken and mushrooms, pork in garlic sauce, and eggplant in brown sauce. The good… stewed chicken and mushrooms was tasty! It’s cut up chicken on the bone stewed In soy sauce, anise, and other seasonings. The eggplant was good also. The Peking duck us served as a wrap and soup — soup was okay. The bad… Peking duck was cold and tasteless. As in not even a hint of duck. Skin was not crispy Yeck! The pork in garlic sauce was overly sweet and included black bean sauce. Black bean sauce? WTF! Service was pretty weak also. We were one of two tables and the other table finished before us. So one table occupied in the whole restaurant(us) and the server couldn’t come by and refill water?

My friend and I drove by this place before and we decided to go in. And we were just both amazed by how authentic and delicious this place was! They serve northern style Chinese food, both my friend and I are from northern China and we loved it! Went back several times ever since, it’s definitely our new found love. Their peking duck is really good, if you order the full one they serve in all 3 ways including the regular when you wrap the meat, soup and in fried cumin. It’s soooo freaking delicious. I love their cold appetizers also, all the other dishes I ordered did not disappoint at all! I would totally go back there again, my co workers loved it too. Thinking about it makes my mouth watering… Staff there were nice also, very friendly in explaining the dishes in English and Chinese. Free parking in the front, it’s not that crowded. Can’t wait to go back today!

Meh, I’ve experienced better… but in the context of the global world of Peking Duck. That Peking Duck is found in Seattle at all is worth celebrating in this enclave in the corner of not-downtown-Bellevue. The menu is easy to navigate — there are a lot of things but the layout is clear between items and with fun clipart(Popeye is the icon on the Vegetable dishes page). Check in on Unilocal and get a free cold appetizer(at time of writing — maybe there will be a different offer later). All the other dishes are basically competent, nothing stand out. As far as the duck goes, I’m used to Peking Duck with more skin per slice and this wasn’t cut that way. It’s served with Cumin-stir-fried bones — but those are hard to eat as there’s very little meat left. The soup is good, but not write-home good. The staff is super friendly and responsive. If you’ve a hankering for Peking Duck, do check it out.

This one is on my top list of eating out for lunch. Food: This is Northern style Chinese food. We really need it since we have too many Szechwan style ones! I didn’t try Beijing duck here. but the Northern Style Clear Noodle, Guobaorou(sweet and hot pork) and Garlic Chive Pie are worth a shot. Service: It’s typical Chinese restaurant service. BTW if you pay by cash, they will give you 10% discount lol.

WIth a party of 4, we were able to try quite a few of their dished, including the Beijing duck. Verdict? Not Impressed! Look, I go back to Beijing every year to visit family, and I go to the«official» Beijing duck place every year. I’ve been to their competitors. I know what it’s supposed to taste like, and this is NOT it. The crispy skin is supposed to be actually crispy. Here’s it’s just oily(which is correct), but not crispy. The meat is sliced too thick. The skin and meat are sliced in the wrong direction, and the wrong size. The slices should be long, thin rectangles, but here they’re sliced like regular meat. The wraps(bing) are uneven — some are thin, some are thick, and the quality just wasn’t there(they are supposed to be all thin). They also tasted a bit grainy, when they really shouldn’t have much taste at all, to let the duck flavor thorough. To be fair, there isn’t ANY competition in this space — I don’t know of any other place that can make a better Beijing duck in Seattle — but even despite that I would rather not eat Beijing duck at all than eat the low quality version here. Other issues: — Service is uneven. Hard to get their attention, despite an empty restaurant. Poor service is expected for an authentic hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant, so I didn’t deduce points here. — The hot and sour soup was off. Again, not really their specialty, so I can’t blame them. My fault for ordering a southern dish in a Northern China restaurant. — The mi-xen and sour cabbage came out all soggy. I mean, mi-xen is going to be wet, sure, but it definitely tasted overcooked. Considering this Northeast China dish was supposed to be one of their specialties, it was disappointing.

Finally had a chance to check this place out last night. Contrary to several reviews we thought both the food and service were pretty good, as this is a family owned and ran place serving fairly authentic northern Chinese food.(«we» being myself and my girlfriend, who’s from China). We started with cold sliced pig ear appy. It was done just right; not too spicy, and sliced very thin. While this place features a simplistic style of Peking duck, we just had duck the week prior, so tried a few of their other dishes instead Stewed Organic chicken with wild zen mushroom: This claypot stew of chicken, wild mushroom, and clear noodles was super delicious. I HIGHLY recommend it. Stir-fried lamb with Cumin: Also very good, but my gf said that when she has had this in China, there is more cumin. Northern-style Clear Noodle Salad: This dish is served with the wide clear noodles in the middle, and assorted chopped vegys around the edge, with sauce and dressings to mix it. I had this in Beijing a few times and enjoyed it. This one was very bland however. It needed more sesame paste, chile and salt. We only ate 1/3, then took the rest home. The next day, I adjusted their seasoning short comings, and finished it for lunch; and it was much better.

My first visit here turned out to be a memorable experience. Food = Volume-y. Satisfactory. Presentation = kinda rough. Service = average Menu = English/Chinese Décor = casual, strange mix of styles Overall experience = positive, but I’m going to stick to dinner What I liked: Authenticity. The food, service, and other little things made me feel like I’m in a hidden pocket of Chinese community in Bellevue. Right after we were seated, a question came from the wait staff: «Hot water? Cold water?» My friend explained that Chinese people don’t like drinking cold water. I see. Unique food: Peking duck was tasty and a fun experience. You pay for either half or whole bird, and that means you basically get two dishes. First, the whole wrap set — which is the duck skin, crêpe, raw greens, and sauce. Oh the sauce. Very flavorful. I liked it’s not sweetened nor MSG-ladenedf. Crêpe is kind of interesting. Last time I had Peking Duck in Hong Kong it wasn’t crêpe, it’s fluffy white buns. Anyway, second, a big bowl of duck and cabbage soup. I very much enjoyed this one too, very nourishing and comforting. Wish I was prepared better for this huge portion! I also liked organic chicken soup, fully flavored with Chinese herbs… that cleansing jinsen, wolfberry, star anise, etc… and lots of unusual mushrooms in the mix, Service: The wait stuff tried to appease us by offering one free cold appetizer, as we were waiting pretty long time for the dish to come to our table. What I didn’t like: Rice: rice was jasmine rice and felt dried. My preference is fluffy short-grain without the extra aroma or taste, like Japanese sushi rice. Those tiny pricky bones in chicken and duck soup: Oh so jarring. I guess it’s a part of authenticity? to chew on bones? But it needs effort to try to like the experience. I don’t feel pretty when I pull food bits out of my mouth while dining. Menu. I want to give a credit to their easy-to-read, bilingual menu design, but, typo is not good. All in all I had a positive experience. I wanted to try something new and unique, and this restaurant has that edge. Lunch menu seems regular chinese menu and nothing notable, but, understandable due to their location. I want to come back for dinner again, to try an intriguing menu«Beijing Duck Super Special Noodle.» :) What’s so special? More duck?

Really good, authentic Chinese food. Can definitely compare to other great Chinese restaurants in the area like Facing East and Din Tai Fung. I’ve been here several times with my husband and every time, the food has been very good and clean. Sauteed string beans, a-choy, pigs feet and other dishes are excellent. Service is also great, owner is very nice(he gave us free appetizers which are super delicious) and they are very accommodating to my husband’s gluten allergy.

Really good place right now. I really hope they don’t follow the dark path of most Chinese restaurants in this area — raise prices and lower quality b/c it’s so easy with so little decent competition to slack and charge more. The ‘beijing duck’ itself is average. skin not crisp, and so much meat left on the bone. they don’t seem to know how to trim the meat off(as they do in Beijing :)) The fried bones of the duck is just ok, but the soup is actually quite tasty. A lot of the other dishes are quite good. the vegetables are fresh and not canned peas/carrots. Flavors quite authentic. really hope they keep this up.
