I like this place for yarn — I think they have a really good selection of types and colors, though the prices tend to be a little on the scary side. While I think sometimes it reflects the quality of the yarn, I can’t help but wonder… well, you know. The staff is attentive, just dancing the line of being over-bearing. There’s a sign at the entrance that states there are cameras and that shoplifting is expensive for them, and while I don’t doubt that at all(and frown upon shoplifters who are ruining it for us all), it’s a little less-than-welcoming to be greeted with that and then followed with the VERY attentive staff reminding you often that they’re there if you need them. I understand, y’all…I totally do and I’m sympathetic to the plight, but it’s not as welcoming then. We’re not ALL shoplifters. A pretty good selection of non-yarn knitting supplies and they have some neat bags and such. There’s also an area for bored/tired partners who aren’t interested in yarn to park themselves, though, ironically, all I saw were knitting magazines. I’ve seen a lot of craft stores that have areas for partners and usually you can find a few non-craft magazines, which I think would be more of a draw. But to each their own. Great place in Bellevue to find what you need for your next scarf.

Love the sound of this store. A low level buzz of conversations as folks sit around the tables with their projects. The whir of the ball winder. The cheerful and insightful staff assisting customers. I want to live here, surrounded by beautiful yarns, feeling all warm and cozy and sheltered. Beautiful selection of fibers, all nicely displayed. Lots of different needles and crochet hooks. Accessories and patterns and books… yum. Go in. Be comforted.

I love this place! Maybe it’s because one of the employees recognized me from my blog, or maybe it’s because of all the delicious yarn they have strewn about the place, the smiling employees, and other yarn lovers with pleasant attitudes that swarm the place before opening time… who knows? Either way, they carry my favorite cheap-o knittting needles — Crystal Palace Daisy needles in DPNs and straights — and plenty of my favorite yarns(like the elusive Nashua stuff in all varieties). Not to mention the elusive crocheted«chocolate cake» tape measurers from Lantern Moon! If I had more than two thumbs I’d give ‘em a higher rating. Well worth the trip!(Not to mention nearby Bellevue Square Mall.)
