SALON by milk + honey

Totally not worth the money. If you’re looking for a real spa experience this is not it (go to Lake Austin or Woodhouse). If you just need good salon services, this also misses the mark (Go to Keith Kristofer). I’ve had hair, pedi, waxing, massage at the Galleria M&H location and they are all way below par for the price especially since there are so many options in Austin. Since I travel for work I also need flexible scheduling. It would take me weeks to get a hair appointment with one of the people who did a good job. But unfortunately, due to my job and a child, a lot can come up in 2 weeks. After having to reschedule during my time there, they put me on a ‘pre-​pay’ list so they wanted to make me pay ahead so if I cancelled they would charge me anyway. Between a job and child, things come up and even my doctors allow reschedules and let’s remember they are NOT medical professionals! And their front desk is a total joke. The girls always blamed the computer system but I never figured out if it was them or their system but it was very tedious. AND — — - the best part — — - you don’t get a break when they screw up the appointment and don’t schedule enough time for the service you requested OR if your person is sick — — all of which happened while I was going there. I also never understood why they needed a ‘pre-​pay’ policy since it usually took me at least 2 weeks ahead to schedule color and cut. Anyway, save your time and money for another place.

I’m not sure where I just went but I know what heaven looks like now, and all the aestheticians are angels. I paid a steep amount to just get my eyebrows waxed I’ll admit that ($ 25 holy shmoly) but what an ambience and what lovely service. They cleansed my skin with witch hazel and used sterilized equipment and such naturally scented products my eyebrows now feel soothes and even and relaxed goodness they could be on vacation right now. My aesthetician was wonderful (I wish I remembered her name). They have am amazing spa waiting area and I can’t wait to see what their spa experience is like!

Best salon services ever! All of the stylist are welcoming! Love it! Jaime is the best

Debbie is one super talented stylist. She really knows what she is doing and without any fuss or bother, gave me an excellent cut. She took the time and trouble to make me feel completely comfortable on my first visit. You bet I will be going back!

Rude, snobbish, and a complete disregard for their clients.
Front desk left me waiting and, when they finally decided to speak to me, I got two words out and the women turned to someone who had just walked in and asked to help her. Had to wait several minutes for someone else to come out and help me. The other women refused to speak to me or anyone else not in her «demographic»
Then I asked if they had iced tea and got a rude «no» and wasn’t offered anything else. I was literally pointed to a couch to wait. After waiting over 15 minutes with no communication I left.
Worst part: woman claiming to be the manager called and wanted to argue with me that no one had been rude. Offered no apology. She didn’t ask if I wanted to come back. Just Lots of attitude!
Appears that they don’t want to provide services to anyone over 40. Younger clients had wine or ice water. Older clients had nothing. Hmmm!
No one should spend their money at a business that treats their customers like this.

Being new to Austin I was searching for a great stylist to take care of my hair. I scheduled an appointment with Richard at Milk + Honey in the 2^nd Street District and had an amazing experience. Richard gave me a fabulous cut. and I highly recommend him!

I recently moved to Austin from Connecticut where I had a fabulous stylist. I was afraid that I might have to fly back just to get my haircut. I tried Milk + Honey from the reviews. About 2 weeks ago I had Brandy cut my hair — she did a fabulous cut. Today, Brandy highlighted my hair and I am equally happy. I highly recommend Brandy for both cut & color. You won’t be disappointed!

Georgette is awesome! She recently cut and colored my hair, and the color was no easy task. I have had bleach, reds, bright teal, and blondes and all of that fading was not pretty. Georgette did a great job with my color and bringing it all back to my natural! Covered my grey hairs with no problem too! Gave me a great cut and got rid of my horrible split ends! I will definitely be going back to see Georgette in the Salon again!

My husband and I recently got fabulous haircuts from Georgette. She was very friendly, gives a great head massage, and really worked on giving us styles that would suit our individual hair type, face, and yes, even the work that we do. I liked that she wasn’t pushy. At one point, I considered getting bangs but then decided against it… and then wavered again… and she just let me think it through. I think she sensed it was the length I was worried about because in the end, she gave me longer bangs that I could tuck behind my ear… and I was very pleased with that. I was also excited by how she styled the husband’s hair… the front was nicely textured and works great with or without product. At the time however she was working at a different salon, but I’m glad we know where to find her… we’ve enjoyed the spa at milk + honey in the past, and now there’s a reason to visit the salon.

Love the spa! Great massages, facial and pedicures.
Hate the salon! I felt I was in high school listening to the beauticians gossip about their clients. My hair didn’t even end up all that great so dealing with the pettiness wasn’t even worth it.
Had it not been for the salon, the spa would have earned a 5!!!
